Not gonna lie, this made me a lil emotional lol i miss them and their artistry SO MUCH. Vixx was one of my firdt kpop groups and started my channel tbh like theyre just so unique?? And consitant? I cant wait for them to comeback. They just have a thing no one else has, its hard to explain.

This hurts me. VIXX was something that'll never come again. The things they did together, the synergy with eachother.... These 6 boys were made to work together. And the fact that we actually lost this when we could have had so much more...VIXX was THAT group.

Micah I could scream😭 thank you so much for reacting to VIXX again ! I ulted these guys for almost 5 years and I still intensely listen to their music today. They’re one of the best groups I’ve ever heard!! They literally have it all, vocals, rap, performance, charisma AND personality ! I miss them performing as a group I’ll always remember them as my first ults and my first concert. I wrote too much lol but I just wanted to say thank you❤️

VIXX is legenary. I know most people praise them for their concepts based on their MVs but I've always loved the story telling they have in their choreos. A TMI, VERIVERY (You reacted to their Undercover and O MVs) are part of the same company as VIXX (Jellyfish Entertainment) and even tho their concepts and style of dancing is different from VIXX, I think they still keep some of the "storytelling" aspect to their choreos. You should definitely check more of their songs and MVs as well! I personally recommend choreo wise Tag Tag Tag, Lay Back, Thunder and G.B.T.B, it's interesting watching their MVs and then watching how they incorporate aspects of their "alter egos" to their choreos!

I KNEW YOU WOULD BE GAGGED BY HYDE! I had to put food away before you played the mv because I KNEW (and I knew I experience some post traumatic gag syndrome...) VIXX are a special group to me because this was the first comeback of a group where I was so obsessed with that I had to watch every stage. Absolutely love them for their concepts and how well they translated from MV to performances. I do think there is a VIXX shaped hole in the industry currently.

i was so glad when I saw you reacted to vixx! there is also a sub-unit from vixx called LR. would love if you could react to beautiful liar and whisper. the vocals there are insane :) and Ken is my favourite kpop vocal ever, so reacting to his cover, individual pieces and competition would be a good choice if you're interested in it!
VIXX are concept kings! Everything ties into their concept; the video, the dance, and the lyrics. I recommend reading the lyrics to some of the songs as it really helps to explain the plot and the musicality is just chefs kiss. I will try to answer all of your questions. Starlights please correct me if I am wrong or if I am missing anything.
Hyde is about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. They are battling between both versions of themselves which is why you see them reaching their hands up and pulling it down in the chorus. I recommend watching G.R.8.U which is about their change from Jekyll to Hyde. It’s a way more upbeat song and the video is actually happening in reverse.
In Eternity, the guy with the plaid shirt is Hyuk, the main dancer, vocalist, and the maknae. Blond hair is Leo, the main vocalist. The guy who raised up opposite of Leo is N, the leader, main dancer, lead vocalist, and center. He is also the red haired guy in Hyde. Ravi is the one with blue hair and is the rapper and lead dancer. Hongbin is the one in the white shirt with black details. He is also the main character in Error. He was the lead rapper, vocalist, and visual in the group but he left on 8/7/2020. Ken is the guy at the end being lowered down and the other main vocalist.
Fantasy and The Closer concepts are related to Greek Gods. I recommend you watch Dynamite which was based on the Greek God of Zelos, God of jealousy and rivalry. Fantasy is about Hades, the God of the Underworld. The Closer is about Kratos, child of the Titan Pallas and the personification of strength, power, and authority. Ken is playing Kratos and had the power to stop time which he uses to try and get the girl.
From what I could find, Heo Youngji from Kara plays the female Cyborg. Nayoung from Gugudan was in The Closer and Dynamite.
Yesss!!! VIXX was my 3rd Gen Group along with Exo. Ken is still one of my Favorite Vocalist in Kpop! So glad you enjoyed their music. Not a lot of people know about them which makes me sad.
You asked for a explanation for The Closer video, but we can't really explain it without also bringing in Dynamite and Fantasy as they're a trilogy of connected MVs from thier Greek God concept. They basically dedicated an entire year to releasing as much as they could and the result was three comebacks all connected with an overarching story.
Story wise, the trilogy goes:
The Closer
Fantasy
Dynamite
The Closer there's a wedding with Leo (red hair in this one) and the girl, but some of the other gods (played by VIXX members) have made a deal with a mortal (N, dark hair, he's seen with a matching evil eye symbol on his hand in these MVs at points, same as Leo.). They wedding crash basically and the girl is given a drink from Ravi (he's Dionysus, god of wine etc) to make the girl fall for N. Classic Greek type drama right? lol. As you might imagine, Leo who is Achilles doesn't take this lying down and who gets the girl in the end is a mystery. But in the continuation, it appears to be N. Ken is Zeus (blonde) and is watching this all unfold, but not actually intervening despite being the King of Gods.
But then Fantasy comes next and the story is someone who fell for this fantasy in thier mind, they sacrificed everything for this fantasy they wanted to make real. But then they realise after they appear to get what they wanted, that it's not like how they thought it would be and the pain of clinging to this fantasy that seems to be coming undone and now it's to late to go back. The MV is telling the story of the deal being made, some trying to convince N to not do it, others trying to tell him to go through with it. Ultimately he does and appears to be realising the truth of what he's been left with or at least questioning himself.
Dynamite - A story about explosive jealousy and anger and how it made them feel and what it made them do. The lyrics include someone wanting to turn things back to how they were, they got what they wanted but the girl has turned from 'Snow White' to a 'Evil witch' and they(VIXX) have become the villain of the story. There's also references to a spell being cast (Suri, Suri), and how they must now deal with this new reality, they wanted her so badly, but want her to go back to how she was before the spell was cast.
Also Eternity is a time loop concept, they lost the girl and their waking hours are a 'nightmare' and they feel stuck in this never ending nightmare and want to dream always instead where they are still together, but cannot escape the nightmare that begins again every time they wake up.

Ahh omg I wasn’t expecting this at all lol, thank you for doing more Vixx! Their vocals are still some of my favs to this day (everyone has such distinct timbres and their skills/style have only improved and expanded with all the musicals the members have done over the years) and you hit the nail on the head when talking about their choreo. They’re very theatrical and focus more on expressing their own emotions/telling a story rather than having a bunch of super fast/hard hitting synchronized dance moves. Of course, they can absolutely do the perfect lines and whatnot when they want to (we saw this when they participated in a dance competition in China), but that’s not their usual emphasis at all. Everything is centered on the story/theme or message they want to convey! Also it’s funny you mention btob because they’re literally besties haha, in the early days you could always see them together at events singing and being crackheads together! The harmonies were insane and we love to see it.
As for recommendations, I lovee beautiful liar by Vixx LR! It’s written and composed by Ravi and the story/symbolism in the MV is amazing, plus Leo’s vocals against Ravi’s rap is chefs kiss. Also for some grown and sensual bsides, the eau de Vixx album is top notch! For more Vixx vocals, I think you’d enjoy their acoustic medley for chained up, error, and dynamite! It’s the one where they’re wearing pink suits and you can really hear each of their distinct voices super clearly while still getting some gorgeous harmonies. It’d be cool if you watched the MVs for chained up/dynamite as well to hear what the original sounds like!

ugh the nostalgia is REAL 😭 vixx were seriously something different, and their bsides never disappointed. to this day, they're one of those groups I can put on shuffle and just enjoy without any skips...
The one you asked in the fantasy video, in the middle is Hyuk, the youngest and lead dancer. I don't know if you're aware but their Main Dancer & Leader N, is professionally trained in Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. That man has some of the most beautiful lines i've ever seen in a Kpop Idol. I highly recommend you to react to some of his solo performance videos. Also about their acting, all of them have been acting in dramas and movies but not only that, Hyuk, Ken, Leo and N and have all been starring in several Musicals, N even has a masters degree in performing arts.

AHHH love that you are reacting to concept kings Vixx! also they have branched out into acting and musicals etc as well, so many gems in 2nd and 3rd gens, brings back memories, i do need Kpop to come back to this, also misss songs with MV that has storylines and performances in which they showed emotions in MV and on stage in accordance to the song and concepts! Thank you for the reaction 😊 also Ravi besties with Taemin and Kai and they are all great dancers lol, the other two you mentioned most are called Leo and N. also they are 3rd gen, along with EXO, BTOB and others
It makes sense why that one video seemed similar to BTOB, usualy for 2nd and 2rd gen a song in that sort of location where they are all broken hearted and the girl ends disappearing is a must lol the best of them have songs like this, e.g. B.A.P's' Rain Sound and 1004', Beast/Highlight's 'On Rainy Days and Fiction', Infinite's 'Be Mine and the Chaser' (they are all amazing songs!)
I also think Infinite and Beast/Highlight, B.A.P might be groups you might like.
Beast/Highlight have a Killing Voice which is really great, also this group also has a fantastic vocalist called Yang Yeoseob you might be missing out on, he is acknowledged as an amazing vocalist and has also been the King on King of Mask singer so many times.

There was a point in time where VIXX had my full attention, and to me they have one of the best discographies. When I was into theories, I used to rewatch their mvs all the time. Their concepts were so detailed, and well thought out. That's the reason why they're the concept kings. There aren't that many groups out today that go all out with storylines, and I miss it. The hype for VIXX may have died down years ago, but I'm still here waiting for their comeback as a full group.
I’m making a different comment because I just have to say that, one thing 2nd and 3rd gen got right was not underestimating how far a good song, a well composed song can take you! The concept and the music were congruent with the choreo. It just made for a complete package. And it was just fun how whacky and weird the visuals/ concepts could get! Not to mention it’s really hard pulling off some shit like space vampires or human voodoo dolls( still kinda traumatized by that mv lol) and making it look good and sound good!!! Top tier can’t change my mind 🤷🏾♀️
You have to check out their B-sides, especially the ones from the Eau De Vixx album. Odd Sense and Circle are absolute bangers!

I was not expecting a vixx reaction, I love them. They’re basically the theater kids of kpop and they always have standout live performances 😭😭😭 Kpop nowadays is high impact but it’s lacking in the drama department. The Closer’s MV has an amazing concept but they cut off so much of the dancing (like most of their MVs tbh) and I think it’s one of their smoothest choreos. My Valentine, which came out with Scentist, is also a really good live performance.

I love that you mentioned SHINee because they're my ults but VIXX has such a special place in my heart. I love that they have such a solid identity while doing many different concepts and genres. Their dance practices/choreos are so fun because they tell stories and like you say, don't just try to go as hard or clean as possible. Especially in the latest years they would promote a B-side with every single and they always picked sexy concepts for those looool, I love them.

While VIXX as a group are all very good dancers, I feel that N(the center/redhead you pointed out) and Ravi are their strongest. N has more of a contemporary style, so he suits Shangri-La type music more while Ravi is very good with isolation, waves etc. That's my opinion anyway.
But you are right. I do feel that VIXX members all move differently and yet they don't look out of place either. When Ravi went to Kingdom to support VIXX;s juniors Verivery, the advice he gave them was "right now you all look and move the same, you have the same expressions. It would be good if we could see a different personality in each of you when you dance". I feel that this comes directly from his experience with VIXX. They all have very subtle differences in how they move and express themselves, but still look like one unit when they dance. I also think it is because they are committed to their concepts that they do this. Because if they all move the same and have the same expressions it is a great and well co-ordinated choreo, but when we can see their personalities as well, it becomes a story. Idk if that makes sense to anyone else lol.
For more reactions. I'd suggest Beautiful Liar and Whisper by VIXX LR. It's a sub unit with Ravi and Leo and they deal with the concept of two sides of a person sorta thing. Both the songs yeah.
For b-sides, I would suggest these: the sexy ones - My Valentine, Love Me Do, Hot Enough, eau de vixx songs - Escape, Circle, Trigger, Silence, rockish songs - Light up the Darkness, Beautiful Killer, that one weirdly Eminem-esque song - Memory sung by Hyuk and Ravi, ballady songs - Resemble, Love Letter (try to watch live for this), Walking
For titles, I'd also suggest Scentist and GR8U. GR8U is not the best song wise but it is the Jekyll to Hyde and the music video is in reverse. The boys actually learned the song in reverse for it. Also VIXX's Havana cover is one of the best covers imo.

Ah, my Concept Kings 😭, I miss them so much. Thank you for checking them out! I saw someone mention Chained Up, Dynamite, Scentist, and Shangri-La to check out and I will second that. I'll also suggest Voodoo Doll (th-cam.com/video/MOG7BexjPjM/w-d-xo.html) and a performance of a remixed version of Shangri-La at the MBC Music Festival (th-cam.com/video/XtzyyVoBz3w/w-d-xo.html), which I'm adding just because I really love it😂. There are also some dance videos by member N which I could suggest later if you'd like to see something like that as well.

This was such an enjoyable reaction and I’m glad you liked most of it.
On and on was the comeback that really put them on the map and kind of their first high-concept release.
I definitely recommend checking out their Eau de Vixx album, it’s one of the best full albums in k-pop imo. The titletrack Scentist is inspired by the book „perfume: story of a murderer“ and the MV is stunning.
Chained up is also a song you should check out, it’s probably their most well-known and the album is nice too (and has my fave b-side Spider)
On some of your comments:
-the one you said was pretty in the first MV and whose dancing you noticed in eternity is N (Cha Hakyeon), the leader and main dancer.
He has some really great dance performances that are worth a watch (either as a reaction or just on your own, they might get blocked idk).
-The one you said was giving in the dance near the end of fantasy was Hyuk, he’s the maknae.
-Fantasy is only a single album, but I do believe you’d enjoy its b-sides. Love me do is EDM, but has a nice choreo and butterfly effect is kinda r&b, so maybe more your vibe.
Btw fantasy and the closer are actually part of a trilogy with dynamite that was called 2016 Conception and all plays around the themes of Greek mythology (which is why the albums are titled Zelos, Hades and Kratos respectively). It’s all a little much to explain in a comment, but maybe worth looking into if you’re interested^^
Also semi-related to this all, since you liked Vixx and the kind of choreos and vocals they have, maybe checking out the group Infinite would be good, they’re from around the same time and similarly theatrical (and their song the chaser is generally regarded as one of the best k-pop songs of all time). I don’t think I’ve seen them on your channel before, but sorry if I missed that^^
You should watch some of N's (VIXX's leader, has a contemporary dance background) performance videos, maybe with Ola or another dance reactor? Fate especially, it's just so good.
i hope in part 2(if you make one lol) you take a look at some of leo's solos, specifically touch and sketch. i feel like that song deserved more attention

Hyde is such an underappreciated VIXX song. I think it's the prefect concept song. The MV, the song, the lyrics, the dance and the performance all work together and are coherent to each other. You should definitely react to the lyrics to see how the dance correlates to it. The live performance where the members are divided by the evil and good side with black and white clothes (watch it with with lyrics on) to really get how everything ties together amazingly.

I was obsessed with Fantasy back then! Closer took me some time, but it's one of my favorite songs by Vixx now.

The closer music video is about observing Leo as Achilles, who takes away a woman from En, a human being, from Ken's point of view as Zeus. I don't remember who each of Hyuk, Ravi, and Hongbin's gods were. It's a trilogy with the concept of Kratos, the god of power, and you can look at it in the order of the closer-fantasy-dynamite.

Vixx forever the concept kings, they were my ultimate group for so long, I used to fight the universe for Vixx merch as a hobby... I miss them-
When you feel that VIXX dances to their own tune.... that's really what happens. Their leader aka N didn't want everyone to dance like robots, he wanted everyone to show their essence and interpretation by dancing because VIXX's difference from other groups is that they are storytellers, it's almost like watching a mini musical in every comeback and that's why they are still so popular among idols rather than people, because only some of us can understand VIXX's theatrical theme. Even without knowing Korean you can understand what the song is about by watching their dance.
I never get to understand On and On but its my favorite still, because 'i need therapy lalalalala therapy'.

Please add vixx’s song only u to your list! One of my absolute favorites by them - it’s a ballad and has a music video. It’s such a vibe and I love the instruments! I was a hardcore starlight when they came out so this brought back so many good memories so thank you!

There is an MR Removed/Acapella version of TH-cam that someone uploaded and the voices and harmonies are literally symphonic on their own. Actually insane how much movement is going on in the background! Totally recommend it!

As you noted, they are concept kings, and it really shows! They're very good dancers (hahaha you noticing N in both the Hyde - red hair - and Eternity - dark hair - dance practices) and AMAZING vocalists, but the point is always that everything comes together for the concept! They show they're good dancers, but that isn't THE point. They're great singers, but that isn't THE point. It's all about the storytelling and conveying the concept through BOTH and it's what makes them so great! (I know there are videos that go through and explain the concepts of each song. Feel free to check one out! Also...you have to check out Shangri La, especially with the dance practice - if you haven't already)
So The Closer is actually part of a trilogy with Fantasy and Dynamite. They were released in reverse order of the story, with Dynamite, Fantasy, The Closer. There were a TON of concept films that went with them, but basically, it has a Greek Gods/Heroes theme to it. N is an Oracle, Leo is Achilles, Hyuk is Hermes, Ravi plays both Dionysus (The Closer) and Hades (Fantasy), Hongbin is Prometheus, and Ken is Zeus. If I recall the basic story correctly, N and Leo both fall in love with the same girl and go to Hades to get a love potion, but only one of them succeeds. The Closer is about seduction, Fantasy about loss, and Dynamite about jealousy. In The Closer, the camerawork is really cool because the MV is pretty much Ken (Zeus) walking through while time is stopped, bemusedly observing everything that's going on.

Woow, didn't knew you've reacted to them. I'm a huge fan!! They got me into K-everything. The main vocals -Ken and Leo- moved into theatre, with main roles may I add. They are really good. If I were to suggest followup songs, Vodoo Doll its a must -the reason they became known as concept kings-. Their choreo and video its awesome -a bit to dark for the times so it was censured. Chained up I'll say it was their biggest hit -with a whole slave contract on the album.
I would love if you got a dancer to react to N's performance videos the dance styles are more on the contemporary/traditional side
