Rap really saved their lives. They were on the path of becoming statistics for sure but they both beat the odds. Nore's success today with Drink Champs is amazing if you think about it. And the guy is dyslexic. Crazy what he managed to accomplish

2 minutes into this. Nore is half African American so to say his friends taught him about the black culture is a bit strange. African Americans and Puerto Ricans live so close to each other that we’re practically family. In the streets we all have the same culture. However we learned more about each other when we would visit each other’s homes daily.
Puerto Rican culture is completely different from Afro-American culture

Puerto Ricans we’re my neighbors in 4-6 story apartment buildings. My 1st son’s mother is Puerto Rican. I have been to 100’s of Puerto Rican events.

@@dennisfigueroa63 I'm old enough to know that while the Bx is the HEAD of Hip Hop, Queens has undoubtedly had more dope MC runs than any other Boro. QUEENS is the reason rap made it onto MTV (Run-DMC) consistently. That changes everything for us collectively, with suburban dollars.
Queens had the first HipHop mogul and signature label (Def Jam) and signature label mc (LL cool). Who dropped the first love song too. A staple for an MC catalogue is a song the ladies rock with a la DMX how's it going down. They get that from LL.
First mega group with producer (Juice Crew)
Queens is also the majority of late 80s and 90s street music (i said Majority, not the only, so please dont mention Just Ice like i dont know. Or even Schooly D in Philly) We can start with Kool G Rap, move to Onyx, coast out with Lost Boyz and CNNand Trag and MOBB and Nas and then land onto G unit era.
G unit will extend into TV too but I'll skip that for now.
