Mujahideen got really good SUT training by former SF-gone-CIA guys in Pakistan in training camps in the FATAs in the 1980s.
It included basic and more advanced SUTs, improvised explosives, intel networks, heavy weapons employment, covert comms networks, and better meat and potatoes battle-focused training than any Stateside patrolling course.
