This is not true lol. I’ve been an injury adjuster for ten years. We LOOK for coverage when folks are in an accident and our goal is to help them settle their claim. It’s actually bad faith to try and find a way to trap someone so we can deny a claim. You can lose your job doing that and the company can be fined by the DOI!

Progressive says that comprehensive covers objects falling off of vehicles. The adjuster interprets that as meaning it has to be flying through the air as it hits you. It can’t have touched the ground.
I hit an object on the highway that I couldn’t avoid without swerving into traffic beside me. Progressive said it was an at fault accident and doubled my premium at renewal. I had an independent witness that they never contacted. Progressive is a legalized theft machine.

@@rrfa5si610 No, I hit a tandem axle trailer fender that had fallen off a pickup with a flat bed. After calling the adjuster they finally called the witness and changed my claim from a comprehensive to a collision claim. Don't know yet how that will affect my premiums.
Progressive is the worst. They added my underage daughter to my policy and charged me $1000. Even though she didn't have a license or a permit. I complained and they told me that if I didn't like their policy, I was free to leave. They kept my $1000 and lost a 20 year member in the process. NEVER go with Progressive.
you cant avoid one accident & cause another, expect to not be at fault for it. If you were maintaining proper lookout for a while, you would've been able to avoid it another way or perhaps slow down on driving. Regardless of, you still use your coverages. If your insurance makes any sort of pay out, they need to get reimbursed somehow & that's going to be going after the consumer. That goes for ALL insurances.
Progressive's website states accidents that are 'unavoidable and unexpected' are covered under comprehensive coverage...
I had that and the claims adjuster admitted that's what my accident was, but they also said, what's stated on the website isn't what they have to go by.
Then the claims adjuster said my claim was denied, because I didn't verify the date of the incident.
Only problem with that is, it's both listed on the incident, I've verified it repeatedly, and then sent a video in with the date on it.
Progressive is a scam.

This video is a complete lie. This guy just wants your money. They take statements so they can close their liability for the claim. That is the only thing they care about. They are not trying to get out of making payments at all. Adjusters do not care at all about your payments they just want to close the claim and make you as happy as possible. This guy will do nothing except slow the process down and make everything harder.

This is bull. Coming from an industry that is known to screw people over. How does this even make sense. Pkewse dont listen to this guy, hes full of it. He clearly doesn't know anything about insurance in general let alone Progressive. All insurance is held accountable by insurance law and the department of insurance. The statement is there to understand what happened so a liability decision can be made, again...based upon traffic laws as well as to rule our injury. Try again buddy.
I did this job and left because he is right. Eapecially with Progressive.
