Lovely idea. This video sparked an idea for me to put my husbands love letters, notes, cards, and dried petals from roses he gave me over the years, etc...he is deceased. I have all these things in my cedar chest. I think this would make a lovely remembrance of our life together.

Just what I needed to get started, an easier way to put the pages and cover together, . I'm excited to get started. I've watched lots of your videos and am in love with your journals, love the feminine touches of lace , ribbon, trinkets. I do crochet and card making, but since watching your videos, they have taken a back seat entirely, .Heather we seem to have the same taste of soft, feminine prettiness, that's the only way I can describe your style that we share, keep filming your work it's so motivating . One day Heather, could you show us you're craft room, I have a terrible time trying to keep it organised, but only if you want to share this with your community here on TH-cam, stay safe x

I really like the way you can slip smaller pages in between, loved watching this and it turned out beautifully…it’s definitely a style I like. These journals feel so tactile and inviting compared to a super sleek new book.

Instead of a notebook, I re-purpose a Priority Mail thin shipping cardboard, or a thin cardboard label sleeve, or 2 thick post cards as my book front/back. The spine can be duck tape or even painter's tape bc you're covering it with fabric or paper. I have also used Washi Tape to make the spine a visual feature of the cover.
Your ribbon binding was a great idea! I'm going to use that! 🙂

I absolutely ❤️❤️❤️ this! The cover is outstanding … my favorite color is blue also so this speaks to me. The ribbon binding is quick and simple especially for a first journal which I’ve been wanting to do for 3 years now and am inspired to make one like this. So many applications are flowing in my mind. The first will be a journal using fabrics / ribbons from my son’s wedding on the cover. I want the inside to have side pockets and tucks; as well as belly bands. I hope they will use it to keep the cards they received as well as then a picture from the celebration of those who gifted the cards. Thanks for your inspiration and tutorial.

If you wrap some sticky tape tightly around the end of the ribbon (like a shoe lace) it will be easier to pull the ribbon through the holes.
When done, just cut off the ends.

I have been watching many of your videos. I really like your style! I decided I needed to get some lace. I went to hobby lobby and nothing stood out for me. I wanted to find a bag of lace and went to a thrift store. I couldn’t believe the first place I looked had a pretty good size bag of lace! I went a couple of weeks ago but I wasn’t looking for lace. The bag had 15-20 sizes. It made my day! Journal on. My middle name is Rene too!

This is one of my favorite tutorials a nice clean working space and not a lot of repetition things were prepared and ready to go I just tried replicating this adorable journal and I searched high and low for that blue flower print when I couldn't find it so I did a watercolor painting and use that it came out beautiful💕 I hope to do more with different flower patterns that I come up with using the simple technique I myself tie in my signature so people can add and remove the pages so they can use the journal for a long time🌷

So many ways, so much getting myself confused that by the time I had my supplies in front of me I was about to make it a “junk journal” literally, if you know what I mean😂. I just wanted a simple, easy, creative way to motivate me more, and holy guacamole you did that for me😅 So my creativity will soon make a mark on some journals soon. And I’m feeling very confident to say I don’t see another “junk” journal in the future👍🏽🤪🤣

Hi Heather, I have to say a couple of thoughts...lol. I knew you would fix the paper. I think it shows that does happen and is easy to take a second to redo. The idea of keeping the papers untied till the end great. I just went to a Thrift store today and found a few items in blue. 🤣I wish I could see more of your cat🥰 I think I would keep this as a loose journal. I find my journals get changed around and that would be easy to tie the ribbon and not glue down. I am now called a journal collector. I was asked what do I do when my journal is finished.??? I had to think about that question...I explained that my journals are never finished. EXAMPLE I bought a journal from Germany. The theme was the Poppy flower. I find Poppies everywhere and they go in that journal. 🥰I never write in a journal I just enjoy playing and taking them around and showing them off🥰 I love seeing the Thrift ladies faces light up when they remember a garment they thought I could use and then the journal has the thrifted item as the cover. I wonder do you ever go back and have a show and tell???? It is so much fun. 🤣Laura
