I transcribed the chords at the end before so figured I will paste them here for anyone wondering what is going on in the end section
X-X-9-11-11-9 (Like a rootless G#M11 Tom plays these all the time)
    X-X-8-10-10-8 (chromatic movement down)
    X-X-7-9-9-7
(7)-X-7-8-8-7 (secondary dominant, B7#5 another favourite of Tom's)
    X-7-6-8-7-X (hammer on 6-8 on G string)
    X-6-5-6-7-7 (V of I)
    X-7-6-8-7-X (hammer on 6-8 on G string)
    X-6-5-6-7-7
    (11)-X-11-12-12-11 (different variant of V of I)
    Repeat -
    X-X-9-11-11-9
    X-X-8-10-10-8
    X-X-7-9-9-7
    (7)-X-7-8-9-9 (B13 with the 9)
    X-7-6-8-7-X (hammer on 6-8 on G string)
    X-6-5-6-7-7
    X-7-6-8-7-X (hammer on 6-8 on G string)
    X-6-5-6-7-X
5-x-5-5-5-7 (hammer on 5-7 on the high E string) Chromatic down to the I
    4-(6)-4-4-4-6

Tom Misch and FKJ, their recognition in the past few 5 to 7 years have grown significantly. The YT channel, "Majestic Casual" have always shared their music to help promote them. FKJ's wife, June, is also an amazing artist.

I giggle inside every time he says he has bad ears. Then you see him deconstruct not only the guitar and melody, but the keyboard part at well. What an amazing player with "terrible" ears. Would love to see him just unload some solos over grooves sometime. Michael you are incredible buddy!

This is one of your best lessons. The minor line cliche is so huge. Your self-deprecation while tearing this down to nuts and bolts with simplicity snd love is admirable. You’re effortlessly talking high level harmony, soloing concepts, and arranging that transcends instrument or genre.

I can tell that you're beholden to no man, so it behoves you to start a band doing funk guitar covers of Beethoven symphonies and call it "Behooven." Another stellar breakdown of an excellent track! Your enthusiasm is palpable. I remember a video from a while back where you admitted to feeling super burned out. Maybe you still are, and are just giving a great performance when the camera is on, but it seems like you're having a good time here, and that makes me happy!

Hey there Michael. You're just a top tier guy. Not only have you opened my mind to alot of amazing music and changed my music taste, but you GIVE the music you show people a spicy taste with your personality. I think you're path here on youtube has opened eyes for so many people who are not active on the comment system and never give you feedback.
You can somehow make me love a song that i don't even like and you've also done it to my friends with your own philosophy and how you see everything around the music.
Kinda dude that i'd take my kids and wife on a vacation with while we drink beer and share songs that we like.

The root notes on the fretboard follow a memorable pattern. Trust me you'll figure it out. For example, let's play the A note on the low E string. It's also on the same fret on the high E string. Also, you can go two strings down to the D string and go up two frets. That's another A note.
As you play around the fretboard you'll start to see this pattern straight away as Michael did.

for me the entire song is made by Tom's reharm chords at the end. I've listened to this tune many times since it came out quite awhile ago. While I dig the groove and layers, it's generally a straight forward riffy/pentatonic groove (in the best way). When Tom takes over at the end with proper chords/voicings the color comes out. I was curious what you were going to do at the end there Michael.
