    You and me
    Meant to be
    Immutable
    Impossible
    It's destiny
    Pure lunacy
    Incalculable
    Insufferable
    But for the last time
You're everything that I want and ask for
    You're all that I'd dreamed
Who wouldn't be the one you love
Who wouldn't stand inside your love
    Protected and the lover of
A pure soul and beautiful you
    Don't understand
    Don't feel me now
    I will breathe
    For the both of us
    Travel the world
    Traverse the skies
    Your home is here
    Within my heart
    And for the first time
I feel as though I am reborn
    In my mind
Recast as child and mystic sage
Who wouldn't be the one you love
Who wouldn't stand inside your love
    And for the first time
I'm telling you how much I need and bleed for
Your every move and waking sound
    In my time
I'll wrap my wire around your heart and your mind
    You're mine forever now
Who wouldn't be the one you love and live for
Who wouldn't stand inside your love and die for
Who wouldn't be the one you love

I was in love with the pumpkins until Ava adore which now I feel is the goat song/video they ever made. This music still stands out and holds its age when other bands dont. I feel they are finally getting the accolades they deserve bc of TH-cam and etc. Sometimes it appeals better years later imo unfortunately.

In the 90’s I’d hear 20-30 year old classic rock music that stylistically sounded outdated even then. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m blown away on the rare occasions I hear this played on the local rock radio station-It doesn’t sound like a song from two decades ago. In contrast to what alt rock sounds like today, many SP songs seem invincible to the passing of time-like an immortal sonic vampire from the future

To add to what so many others are starting to say here, I will tell you why this song is so great and why other love songs are not like it: conviction. It's describing a love that is fueled by conviction, resolve, and one that is divine in origin, in Billy's own words. How many love songs do you hear saying things like "For the first time, I'm telling you how much I need and bleed for your every move and waking sound. In my time, I'll wrap my wire around your heart and your mind. You're mine forever now." And those lyrics in the musical setting they're in communicate a bold declaration of commitment and fact, almost devoid of emotion or opinion. That's a type of love that's an unmoving object, and that's freaking powerful. That's in a completely different universe from the love that pop music describes. It makes me happy to see this song so celebrated in the comments, as usually I don't hear this song praised anywhere near enough by Pumpkins fans.

I got to open up for The Smashing Pumpkins and a play a show the same night after and I remember stepping on the Monitor at when i was 20 years old; this was like 6 years ago and I just remember having so much fucking appreciation and admiration that I got to have the honor of opening up for them. Changed my life, opened up alot of doors for me and to this day when someone tells me they dont like the pumpkins or have never heard of em; If i have the cash I will usually buy one of their records for them on their phone with my credit card and then I get the hey man thanks for fucking introducing me to these guys, they saved my life in more ways than one. When I was addicted to oxies for 2 years and then turned to smoking Black tar heroin I remember listening to Stumbeleine off of Mellon Collie and I litterally decided one night in my 15 passenger tour van that I'd fucking had enough. I put The smashing Pumpkins on loop, curled up in the fetal position with my headphones and I fucking ended my addiction with with what I call The Gatorade, advil, Benadryl, weed and smashing pumpkins rehab. l I felt like he was fucking right there telling me hey man, its time to WAKE THE FUCK UP and MOVE ONE TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS and get yourself out of this hole you've been digging for yourself before its too fucking late, craziest hardest 2 weeks of my life but Billy pulled me through it. I'm firmly convinced. Been clean for 4 years now, no relapses, and living life the way it was meant to be.
