Many thanks for sharing these behind the scenes of 45166 and 45170 being prepared for the repatriation back to the U.K. Hopefully we can see 45170 in steam at some stage in the future. I think the work has been paused for the time being 56140 which was shown at the start of the video is still in Sivas waiting it’s faith. Best Regards Eren
@@Train-mad-Dad th-cam.com/video/3NbB9yZdjrc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7qmkGgu6rO5Bow0E is the latest condition of 56140 really sad to see this. Is there any news regarding 45160’s current status? I did visit the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire railway but didn’t see it or get any news about the loco. I presume it’s currently waiting on its 10 year overhaul?
Thanks for your reply, overhauling big loco’s like the 8f are becoming more and more expensive as you said. I was shocked at the amount of Tornado’s first 10 year overhaul. If anyone is looking for another Turkish 8F there is one almost abandoned in İzmit. (45168) this one is pretty much complete too. On a side note hope we can see some steam traction in Turkey again. Currently there is no operational loco’s which is very sad and unfortunate.

Its undecided really, cost is the main factor. I think they would like too but running and overhauling steam in the UK is becoming ever more costly.
And its not at the GWSR, currently on the owners private land.

I know a documentary was made on this subject, but I can't find it. Is there a link I can watch?
I've not managed to find one yet 😕
