I love this video. I was born in Dublin in 79 and remember driving through the city with my parents seeing some of the sites in the video, which was filmed in the early 80s. There is no ships or dock cranes that far up the river anymore, the gasometer is gone. Ha'penny bridge has been rebuilt. I loved the old Ha'penny bridge, the iron was swollen with rust, various bits of metal brackets were holding it together and the deck was made from rotten scaffolding planks covered in tar, you could the river below through the holes!

Wrong....that’s how Phil looked in the mid sixties sitting on the parapet of O’Connell Bridge in the centre of Dublin...he was sixteen at the time...waiting for his band mates...they were called “The Black Eagles”...I used to see him all the time..they had a room above a Chinese restaurant...they used to have little afternoon gigs there😁...thank you for the reaction...this is one of my favourite songs🤩

I forgot to mention that Thin Lizzy were a big influence of Huey Lewis (my favourite group in high school) and I can really hear a similarity.

His mother, Philomena Lynott is Irish and his father, Cecil Parris is Afro-Guyanese from Georgetown, Guyana.
