I'm working with Barker now and we have had a lot of missing pieces, however after doing a lot of research I still believe these are the best RTA cabinets you can buy. I have to disagree with you on customer service. Clayton has responded to any issues we've had within a day or two. He usually responds in the evenings.
Our order was for an entire house so kitchen, island, and two bathrooms. We've only come across some minor damage from shipping so far and all of it will be hidden or can easily be fixed. Like the side panel pointed out in the video. Every side panel has the two painted holes which I believe are from the production process. If you ask me I'd say you lucked out having that side scratched. Once that panel is installed you'll never know it's there unless you're laying on the floor with a mirror.
We actually appreciated the multistage shipping with info about shipments on their website. We were able to start on our projects earlier than expected and unpacking would have been a nightmare had it all come at once.
Here's my real problem with your video. We're supposed to believe that you're capable of producing a TH-cam video and you couldn't locate the directions you can download on their website with pictures AND ALL OF THE BARKER VIDEOS ON TH-cam? Come on?

Point of clarification regarding some of the previous comments:
James Carroll, the person who posted this video, is NOT a handyman; he says he HIRED one to assemble the cabinets. He is, however, a scenic carpenter.
    To James Carroll:
You say that you expected them (the cabinets) to be a “flat white” like the IKEA cabinets you bought. So my questions to you are:
    1. What color did you order, specifically, from Barker?
    2. Did you request and/or receive a sample of that color prior to ordering?
    3. Is the color of the cabinets you received the color that you ordered?
In addition to the above, I’d also like to know:
    4. Did you ultimately install these cabinets, either in this kitchen or elsewhere? If so, can you please show us the result? If not, why not?
    5. The monies you paid for these cabinets were refunded to you by Barker, correct? With that bit of information in mind, please tell me what your motivation was for making this video.
    6. Did you cause the damage to these cabinets, either intentionally or unintentionally?
    Thank you!

I have used Barker twice for cabinets and both times have had an amazing experience. First was a kitchenette several years ago for a mother-in-law suite and in the last year, I ordered 2 uppers, 2 base file drawers, and a desk spreader for a built-in desk. I assembled both sets of cabinets by myself with no assistance. Yes, there was a learning curve the first time around, but their assembly videos and step-by-step instructions on their website with photos to guide you are all you really need. Barker's quality is top notch. My sister used expensive custom cabinets in her kitchen. Then, upon my recommendation, she used Barker in her master bath. She now wishes she'd used Barker for her kitchen. You do have to order well ahead of when you need your cabinets, especially if you are getting a finish on your doors, fronts and panels. Once received, you need to organize them all your pieces. They are labeled with stickers. Honestly, it's really not that difficult. Anyone questioning whether to use Barker or not, go for it. You won't be disappointed. I tell everyone about Barker and in a few years when I remodel my kitchen and master bath, I will be ordering from Barker once again.

Love my Barker cabinets and with You Tube and online instructions they were super easy to put together, did it in a afternoon and my husband was super impressed when he came home from work and I had everything together

I read some of the comments before watching much of the video but I'm still surprised by how inept this guy is.
If your tool is too big to fit a space, the "space" isn't to blame. Speciality tools exist for a reason. Get either a short screw driver or drill adapter to drill holes in confined areas. For the missing pilot holes... how about using a tape measure and mark the same distances the other holes measure.
The veneer "issue" of which he said, "I don't know how we could possibly use it" (it being the cabinet?) as if the issue was a structural problem. Edge banding can be reattached with a regular clothes iron. And that problem disappears.
For the end panel, won't the top edge be covered by the COUNTER as the counter overhangs/covers the top of the end panel?
I have so many more thoughts, but his complaint about his lack of space in his kitchen, as in he doesn't have room to lay things out to fix these *issues.* That's a YOU problem. He brings it up like Barker is at fault for that as well. So strange.

People are being pretty harsh. Whether or not he is a handyman, the quality control on many levels is missing. It shouldn’t take a handyman to put these together. That many missing parts is lack of detail. Cabinets arriving over time is one thing, but cabinets that arrive without all the parts needed to complete is unacceptable. Mistakes happen but this goes beyond that. He didn’t get what he paid for. In Barker’s favor they did reimburse him. I made a decision to order $11,000 in cabinets, but now I’m not so sure.

So what happened? Did you ever install your 11k dollar cabinets? Do share your experience

Missing pieces sucks but if you can't figure out how to assemble cabinets, you shouldn't be ordering RTA cabinets. Beyond that, Barker has videos on how to assemble everything. It seems like your frustration got out of hand and had you finding problems with everything. Can't fit a screw driver in? How about using a short screwdriver rather than a long screwdriver? That finish problem is on a panel end that doesn't show because it is butted up underneath the counter.
I had some of the same experience with barker, hundreds of pieces delivered in the first shipment with a few missing. This is probably because they got damaged during production and had to be remade. Thousands and thousands of custom cuts and holes in the correct locations. One hole in the wrong location and one missing. That works out to like 0.01% or less error rate. Not bad in my opinion for custom work done offsite.

Well, first, if you bought Ikea cabinets that's evidence quality doesn't mean much to you. But I've had problems with Barker cabinets too. Ready to stain cabinets that are full of scratches across the grain, edge banding falling off, raised door panels that fell apart because the center panel was cut too large.

I'm so glad I saw this video. My husband and I are getting ready to purchase a new kitchen. I wanted to go with Barker, but now I'm not so sure.

I was very unhappy with everything from Barker Cabinets. No deadline dates, no customer service, partial shipments and no instructions.

Hello Diane, I checked your order and see that you had a two of your five drawer fronts get damaged during transit on your past order. You demanded that all five drawer front be remade so that they "match" even after we assured you that the paint is perfectly matched from one batch to another. I stepped in and allowed a remake for all five drawer fronts to make you happy even though this would not be necessary. I will be send you an email regarding your statements here. - Chad Barker

OMG, you sir are infuriating! First of all there are thousands of varients of white and those gouges easily fixed with matching wood putty and you mean to say you could not find a screwdriver to use for that project? I didn't start my kitchen until all the boxes came in and I watched vids and when I was finished, my husband admired the fine job I'd done.

You could have made a template from the other panel for the slides of your spice rack if you were a handyman!

You made sure to point out that you're a handyman, but most of this video is about lack of instruction. This isn't rocket science man.

I feel your pain. This company is just not organized and probably either having financial difficulty and/or experiencing poor management. Cut your losses and find another company. I've had issues with those drawer slides too.

I'm another extremely happy Barker cabinet customer. The products are very high quality, easy to put together and smell wonderful. However, you have to have some basic intelligence and work ethic. Yes, you will need to watch videos on how to assemble. Yes, you will need to exercise critical thinking. If these skills are beyond your abilities, I would not go with ready to assemble from any manufacturer
