any realtors out there? are buyers shying away from edge homes because of this? or are they just shying away from homes built on a cliff? I am wondering if homeowners in these neighborhoods wanted to sell their homes now, could they even get half the appraisal value?

Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Always amazes me they need to take a hill/mountain that’s been there for hundreds if not thousands of years through all the weather and seasons. You see it time and time again. Houses and businesses built on land fill ,on hills or cliffs that in time will fail. You have to stabilize, build a wall and anchor it into the bedrock. Same with dwellings, have to anchor them into several feet with steel and concrete. Also drainage has to be addressed. Another thing is to test the land you're building on.

It's so crazy that people are building up there on Suncrest still. That area is dangerous for homes. It's a cool area, but I would never buy a home up there

Go ahead and ask Mother Nature to stop……It’s reality….our Earth is a dynamic place and no prayer will stop it, the best is if you need to pray then ask for the safety of all involved and that they find safer ground in their future.

These are the same types of people who build a house on the beach and then are dumbfounded when a hurricane destroys it...if only money could buy brains and common sense:)....you never build a house on the side of a hill

Holy Moly!! Doh!! Hey lady your house just slid off a cliff. But it did have a nice view for how ever long they lived there. Great drone video btw. They WERE worth $2 million combined. How does that go? Location, location, location. Apparently they chose the wrong location! Glad no one was hurt. 😳😳

How is that a 2m dollar home? How is the location make it more valuable? Seriously that looks like the cheapest construction ever and it's literally on giant Hill made of fill...
Whoever's buying these homes are getting seriously scammed

In the old days there were some experts who observed and took note of how different geological formations behaved. And after years of observation they could tell you where and where not to build structures. No matter how coveted the view or the neighborhood might be. These experts were called farmers. They tilled and knew the land, and would give you the information you desired for FREE! All you had to do was ask....
Something makes me think of the Jeff Goldblum line from Jurassic Park...they paid so much attention to what they "could" do but didn't stop to ask if they "should" do it! Or something like that...
