Its called a sweet spot, all the bolt action rifles have a special range where they can one shot it shows you the sweet spot in the customization screen when the cursor is over the rifle or when selecting it.

I love the martini infantry. I never use the sniper. I just wanted to unlock the sniper. I have the same play style here. I love to use it on amiens or smaller game modes like domination. My second favorite sniper is the lebel infantry, followed by the 1903 marksman.
BeaterWRX i know its a glitch, I've had it happen to me multiple times... the problem is that its happened so much that I've unlocked the martini-henry sniper but i actually only killed 2 people with the martini-henry while bayonet charging.

Not gonna lie Ravic the Martini Henry sniper is the weapon I have the most kills with and I don't even know why. As a sniper rifle its bad cause it cant really be used to effectively at anything over about 200m and as a med range weapon it fails cause of the stupid scope glint and slow reload. All I can say is its fun to use and it pairs really well with the Frommer Stop Edit: I also wish it was a marksman variant and not a sniper variant. I realized it might be a bit "op" but honestly it only has one shot and a fairly long reload afterwards. Also spelling.

Hey ravic i got a tip. (And anyone else who has troubke using the martini henry) Ive found that the buildings that hug the tracks between C and D on amien have just enough distance between them to fit the martini henrys sweet spot.
Watching that same reload animation so much gave me a headache. This really makes me want to snipe though. Even though I hardly ever use the martini, it's still a decent gun if you're patient enough to use it.
Ravic, If you 90 hit marker from mid range just finish it off with the one shot from the m1911... It's irritates me when you run after melee kills. lol. It's only one shot with Mars if you 80 hit marker and above. You play a lot like me. Aggressive. Thought you could use the tips. Keep producing quality content.
Reddit has a great subreddit for this, /r/buildapc. Specifically, BF1 is very CPU intensive and you'll probably need a higher end rig. It's not nearly as well optimized as BF4. Look into the Ryzen processors (AMD) or i7 processors (Intel).
300 kills with the un-nerfed version of the Martini would have been acceptable. But 300 kills with no scope, slow reload, immense bullet drop and a 1 shot distance almost un-achievable without a sight was a choice made on coke. Don't know if Dice's head is shoved further down the toilet today or a year and a half ago.

I don't get how/why you get 100 damage non-headshot hits sometimes. :| It doesn't look like it's related to distance.
BF1 has a "sweet-spot" mechanic for Scout class sniper rifles, anything within range of that sweet spot is hit with 100% damage.
