i mean the mechanics design and the engine programming are top-notch but i think it's a little generous to call it a masterpiece. it's a game where one of the most prominent female characters is forced into lingerie and zombified female soldiers are introduced with a tight camera frame on their chests and exaggerated breast physics

Because if they did, MGS5 wouldn't of got finished. The conflict between Konami and Kojima caused MGS5 to release in such an unfinished state. And even though the story was unfinished, the game was extremely polished and stable, and very well optimized. But if you want to blame someone, blame Konami. Remember, Kojima left Konami a month after MGS5 release. You know damn well they had bad blood, because as soon as Kojima left Konami, Konami removed Kojima's name from the boxart, and prevented him from going to the Award ceremony to get his award. kojima originally wasn't supposed to direct mgs3. He just gave it for his staff to do while he does something else, but there was some development problems going on there and it wasn't going anywhere so kojima had to step in and take control of the project and direct it himself. That's probably what happened.
