This was by far the best gameplan I've seen from any team playing Baylor. The only problem is that 54 defense is basically a zone and the players had to rotate accordingly, so if Baylor attacked the offensive glass there was always one person that virtually went untouched. I'm sure Coach Vanderveer was aware of that risk. And lastly you gotta cash in on all the chippies against Baylor because of Griner. This is how close Stanford was to an upset. Great fight from both teams though.
Griner was the only player guarding Nneka and she shot 39% where as, Griner had 3 to 4 players on her when she was shooting and she almost matched nneka for shooting percentage. THat shows you how she can effect a game
I see your point. Chiney was somewhat slumbering through the Baylor game. Nonetheless, despite that fact Stanford could have taken this thing down to the wire had they had more shots, due to some of the decent looks, fallen in the hole. Bear in mind that BG only had 13 points and 9 rebounds meaning that the O's and Tinkle did a good job bottling her up. I thought that the Stanford-Baylor FF and the UConn at Baylor game in December were the two classic matches of the 2011-2012 season.
The difference was the fact that B.G. had her teammates deliver. If they would have played regular defense it would have been better. Nneka didn't have a better game. Yes she had 22 points but she shot (9-23) for 39% and Griner shot (3-9) for 33% and 13 points. Terran Condrey was the x-factor. She stepped up and did her job. Stanford as a team did not
Well their shooting percentage started off good but you're right, it went low due to their second half performance. My point is "IF" (NOTICED, I SAID IF) if Chiney would have played a better game aggressively and smart, Stanford could have won. That's all i'm saying. It is almost a fact that when Nneka and Chiney are both having a good game, defensively and offensively, they're unstoppable. Thank you.

I am very interested in this topic; hence, my motivation for replying. If you don't want feedback, then don't comment on You-Tube. I can't knock Stanford for their defensive play and their game plan (the 54 defense), but you are right: Chiney should have been more assertive on offense to draw fouls on BG. Stanford could have won.
Chiney always plays aggressive; however, she doesn't always play smart. Her fouling out in last season's FF against the Aggies helped cost her team that match. As far as Stanford's shots from the guards and wings falling in the game against Baylor as you pontificate? Are you serious? The Cardinal was but 2 for17 from beyond the arc and their mid-range shooting wasn't much better. Had more of these shots fallen, Stanford might have won. Getting BG into foul trouble is far easier said than done.
No Chiney could've played smart and aggressive to get Griner in foul trouble and Stanford shots were falling but it was the lack of rebounding like my Cardinals normally do and their defense wasn't at it best is the result of the loss.
Well, i'm saying Chiney should have been better on scoring and rebounding. So yes i guess you are agreeing with me. I agree it was a classic but my when i said "Nneka delivered" it was a fact not an opinion nor did i ask for any feedback. As far as Tinkle, she did okay but, she could've done alot better.
maybe BG joaqin noah in drag ? Hmmm bye the bye how bout the baylor coachs 5 inch spike heels the uninformed might mistake her for a working girl yowzaa!!

Absolutely but, if Chiney would've been a little more aggressive, I think Stanford could have pulled another big upset.
Nneka Ogwumike delivered!

The Ogwumikes left Texas and Texas A&M and Baylor knocked them out in consecutive years.

No disrespect at all. I'm just saying, Nneka had a good game. It had nothing to do with why Stanford loss or what Baylor did and did not do.
Women's bball rules straight up!!!!!!
