    If you mount those speakers from the underside of the trunk with 1.5 inch nuts and bolts you don't need to alter the oem speaker covers. It also provides a bit more room to get all four bolts mounted for most speakers. Drop the bolt down thru the hole and attach the speaker from inside the trunk with the nuts. I fought with this for a couple of years, then read the directions that came with my Fosgate speakers.

      what fosfate speakers did you buy?

      @@rrmojo1 Hi Ronnie, I have the 9" Prime in the rear deck and 6 1/2" Prime in the doors. I went with the 3 way version and I disconnected the tweeters on the dash. I thought the tweeters on the dash sounded out of phase. The door speakers were a bit tricky as the magnets are a bit large for the hole in the door. I suggest going with a 5 1/2 inch speaker for easier fit. Even with a good mounting ring it was a tight fit. I also installed a single din Sony that produces 18-20 watts rms per channel. The stock radio only delivers about 8 watts and you can't get much of the sound without a bit more power. Better off with the stock speakers if you are only pushing 8 watts. Getting really nice full sound now. Sony has a double din with a built in class D amp. that would produce about 45 watts rms. That should be the about the best amount of power to get the full sound from the speakers. That might be my next project.

      Muntasir Jamal I’m about to do the speakers on my accord. But when you set yours up was the sound off at all? I heard that certain speakers like kicker use more wattage and the Honda Accord 2006 only gives out 120 watts from the radio unit. If you are using an amp, what amp and how did you set it up?

    Did you have to unplug the cars battery when installing those speakers?
    And are you running a factory stereo?

    • @projectelement4980
      @projectelement4980  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally speaking when you work on any electrical components in your vehicle you should disconnect one of the battery terminals while working on it, but in this case I had the vehicle completely shut off and there was no power going to the speakers at all, and because I used the wire harnesses I made it was simply plug& play.
      Everything is stock except for the head unit, and the speakers I swapped out in this video, and it's just a cheap unit from Walmart.
