Hello, you forgot one important improvement and that is internal 8GB memory, so no need for Sd card anymore, if U dont want it for backup / logging etc.
@@proxdrian for good reason. The module bay area has some antennas for bluetooth etc sitting there waiting to get blocked by an aluminium cage :) What did you break? The module holder itself? I would think the issue is the module you chose to plugin. Annoyingly frsky (who designed the bay and specs) have been hit with 3rd parties making the same bay yo slightly different specs. Net result you now have a plethora of modules that are not well fitted to the frsky specs! General point on regards to the bay. Do not force! Never force. Don't.. Just don't.
Hi Rob, I have the X20S and simply filled the module-bay side ridges down so a Crossfire Nano would fit. Can you please tell me if the X20-Pro module bay side ridges are identical to the X20S ?
Great video…. The X20 Pro has me giving Frsky hard look. Long time JR and Spektrum guy here but a the functionality of the Pro seems to match up and/or exceed that of my trusted DX18. Before making the leap to the NX20 I want to give the X20 Pro a serious look.
question i have is both external antennas appear to be 2.4 surly when using 868mhz this would be risking damage to the radio due to reflected power? Would the r9 standard antenna not be better?
@@mickbroad9973 the port on on the x20 pro is two 2.4g ports for the twin protocol. In the x20 (plastic case) yiu have a 2.4 external and 900 external. In the pro you have a 900 built into the handle. If you refer to the u.fl on the internal module that is not connected to anything - it's not used. The physical use of it is disabled in software, so no antenna needed on it.
Never used a skyroid so complete unknown. Personally looking at it the skyroid is designed for a single job. Uav commercial operations. I am sure it's great. But prob a bit limited in it's offering.
@@Farahkhan-m9i The pro does not have fpv built into the display. Range wise.. Technically with the twin lora system or tandem rx you can go 30+ km. Or plug a module in and you could go further.
@@CertsUAsPilot Well that would drop your battery power 🙂 But seriously.. thats not fair. The radio is more capable and as well built as many radios that command an even higher price tag.
@@RTRCTV I was just kidding. I had Futaba and JR radios for years, cost from $480 - $800. I decided to give FrSky a try and bought the X20S last year. FrSky X20S gives the best bang for your bucks. I'm glad I switched and not going back to Futaba.
Years ago I bought a Frysky Horus after having good experiences with Taranis. But in the end it cost me 3 planes due to the poor quality and the danger of parts flying around out of control.😅
Since you have so many different systems, each one is not in use for long. In my case the cables to the field sensors on both sides of the control sticks are broken. They were cheap plastic insulation cables that were installed too short.
@@oliundtrude5318 maybe it's not a question of how long you own them.. but how much air time? I certainly get allot of airtime. Way more than the average flyer.
I honestly don't see the point of this. What does it have on the S? A few momentary switches and 2 extra trims. And inbuilt TWIN. Text to speech is definitley not there yet and more of a gimmick than anything when you have a touchscreen. I can throw a TWIN module on the X18 or X20. Or ELRS. Aluminum case is a con to some ppl especially in cold weather. I can and have installed a locking switch on my S for esc/ignition. The X18 has two extra trims and I honestly feel for those who are thumbers or not using a tray the X18 is probably the better radio. And its $275... I know I know, if I don't like it I shouldn't buy it. Fair. I just feel like this thing is a status symbol for 50% more money than the X20S and barely any more capabilities. Now if the X24 comes out with built in wifi and will update over the air and a whole bunch of other stuff... yeah. I think I'll wait for that. You definitely break it down well at the end tho. Its a want not a need. We only go around once and he who has the most stuff at the end wins right?
It's not two extra momentary switches. It has two extra push button 2 position switches, adjustable sliders, extra trims and comes with a hardcase and receiver. If you subtract 175$ for the receiver and the case then it brings x20pro in a more desirable range.
Yep Text to speech sucks. Audio sucks too. I like the X20s red better. I have both and like the red. Now if they used the the internal memory like the X18 it would be better.
@short5stick the audio on mine is actually better. All the switches and even the gimbals are proprietary to the Pro model. They are of a higher quality and are actually different parts compared to the other models. Again, the other models are great but that's what you are paying for. The built in TWIN will be a game changer as they start pushing that more than tandem to compete with ELRS
I feel the X20 pro is a slap in the face of the long term Frsky users. You're paying a big premium for just a aluminum shell and some bragging rights. I see people buying this transmitter that never would have given Frsky a fair shot because of the lower prices but now it gets them some sort of status they are suddenly interested in Frsky. What annoys me the most is that those people get a numbered plaque and a so called limited edititon transmitter. As if they are anymore special then the people that bought the X20 an the X18 and made it popular in the first place. The whole ELRS fork saga in the Twin module is a whole different issue and such a typical Frsky thing to do. Frsky makes a nice radio but they don't seem to learn from the mistakes they made in the past.
It's other little thing as well. I bought a 130 dollar tray for my X20s that can't be used with the X20 pro because they decided to change the profile of the transmitter just a little. And don't get me started on the loop for the neckstrap on the twin x lite (and the X12) or the X20 not being compatible with 3d party modules, what were they smoking to come up with that. They make fantastic radio's and I love Ethos as an operating system but they keep fucking up when it comes to small details like that. @@RTRCTV
While I do agree with much of the "Puts the 'F' in Frsky" sentiment, I'll kindly ask anyone who does not own a Taranis X9D manufactured in 2013 to sit down. If this radio were running open/edgeTX with 2.4&900 elrs, many of us would turn our heads again. None of us are interested in your "FRSKY" software.
@@dr0n3droid a broad statement. Possibly within your peer group this is the case. But for many people and likely a higher number they found opentx / edge tx too complex to use. The x20 is one of frsky best selling radios. Commercials clearly tell a different story?

are you able to rotate the sticks to an angle like the x20s

Yes. For ages. Works well.
