@Brandon Bevill NL could just commentate what he's thinking. I think all his years of isaac have made him think that he needs to be constantly moving the character around while he talks. He just needs to stand still, talk through the puzzle, come up with a plan, and then execute it.

Hey NL, I got hooked on this game after finding it through you and the best advice I can give you is follow through with every "solution" you think of, even if you think its obvious it won't work. Sometimes you're closer to solving it than you think :) Keep it up though, love the content!
In the previous few episodes I was getting kid of salty that NL wasn't solving the puzzles fast enough, but this episode I'm right there with him. I'm stumped on these dude
On the one at 30 min move the and float to the side, move baba is you to the bottom and insert the and to the left of you, this gives the bottom left baba is melt and you. Take baba, is and float to other side then break to get under skulls
I think NL just gotta take a deep breath and ask himself what items are available to be utilized instead of looking at 30 completely untouchable pieces and stressing. During the puzzle 13 min in he even said "this 'is' has gotta be used, huh?" but then completely ignored it when it was the only thing he could interact with to make a change happen.

You can get this NL. Puzzle games are SUPPOSED to melt your brain. That's like the entire reason they are made. And then the pay off when you solve it. The harder it is to solve, the better the payoff. You got this. :)

The moment I realized you could put Nots *in front* or *chain* them was great. And you even brought up the double negatives here, just on the wrong puzzle. On many of these your thinking process is actually much like my initial thinking as well. You're doing well, you just have to be more patient *and* think more outside the box. (Sometimes literally...) I haven't beaten the entire game yet by the way, but assuming no enormous hidden revelations randomly happen, I am like probably about 3/4 through? I have 87 puzzles solved and 5 flowers. Thus far two worlds are entirely solved. Some of the puzzles that I'm on now I have no clue how to even get *started.* (The "On" and "Make" keywords aren't quite clicking for me in their later appearances, it seems) and some *seem* simple but then turn out not to be (the very first stage in the volcanic region is giving me trouble and I feel like it shouldn't.)
the jelly cave bonus one I almost didn't figure out until NL became the rock. You set it up so that Rock is You and Baba is Push, you push Baba onto the flag and then make it so Flag is Win and Crab is Defeat, then you make it so Baba is You again and you win.
Has NL ever used the method of Baba and something else pointing at the same You at the same time and just forgotten or did he get this far in the game without ever doing that?

@@Serutans On the "Fence is not stop" level I accidentally move "not" in front of "Baba is you" to make "Not Baba is you". Made everything but baba me. I got lucky to find that and it helped later on.
you make me want to buy this game and try it out! you were so close to many times but stopped trying! Its okay to take your time and try every possible solution. Its better than just leaving half way because you think we will get bored. I think it's way more satisfying if you solve the puzzle then move on instead of jumping all over! Keep going!
The second puzzle is pretty tricky, yeah. Knowing that you can negate not only traits, but also objects (i.e. not X is Y) is key, but there's still a bit more after that. Third one teaches you that you can use not on yet another type of text block. That's basically the whole puzzle, though, so I won't say what type of block that is. For Ghost Guard... that one has me completely stumped.
The first example is not a double negative. Fence is not not float is a double negative. I believe that is possible. You are correct that negating the subject noun means everything but that noun is/has whatever. So not fence is not win means the ghost, baba, the flowers and the text wouldn't be able to be win.

I'm trying not to spoil here so this might sound vague, but there's an option you have in two of the puzzles you're stuck on that you seem to have forgotten about but solves a lot of your issues with controlling multiple objects at the same time.
You could solve at least two of those puzzles by making something else into baba. That way you have two babas. The last one you did for example, you had to keep the robot inside the skulls, turn the robot into baba and then you could push the win block. Lastly, you made baba is win.
I wish you'd consider what the possible win conditions are and then work out whether you can get there, instead of just trying a bunch of random stuff without knowing if it's going to be helpful.
Yeah, that puzzle gave me a bit of trouble so I figured "screw it Not Rock Is Push" and then I could push all non-rock sprites (other than Hedge because it is "Not Push" and the Evergreen tree because it is in a corner).

(my idea is you line up "rock is push not" vertically above the water, push the rocks into the water to the left and two above that where "Baba" is, then push the words across the water so you can access "not" there to make "not Baba is not you". Sorry if I explained that poorly.
Rock is You, Baba is You. You are two things, move one past crabs, then push crab/flag to make flag win...move other you that's already past crab onto the flag......It's the level after that which is hard :P
Man this is getting bad. Some of these are super tough, but others there's only a few options and he gives up before trying all of them. On the crab one I thought he had it when he went to push Baba, then he just uses Baba to do something that he could just do as the rock...
NL pretend this game is debugging. Go through every possibility one at a time. even if it seems stupid. you get most of the puzzles but you stop about 2-3 steps from the end.
Hey Northernlion. You mentioned the room you record in gets silly hot, right? Is this an indicator of poor ventilation? Because CO2 levels have an established negative effect on cognitive function. "is NL okay" might actually be onto something.
Nice comment time: Not necessarily in order of when you demonstrate these mistakes: 1: "Blank is not not blank" has the same effect as "blank is blank". I laughed out loud when i first did it, because honestly it feels like it shouldn't have worked, but it did. 2: You don't seem to understand how "float" works. Things which are floating are unaffected by stuff that sinks, stuff that teleports, stuff that is hot, or stuff that defeats. They are, however, affected by stop, push, and pull, and will be affected normally by other things that are floating. 3: "Weak" simply means two things: if you're in the same space as another object, you die, and if you try and move in a way where you would be stopped, you die. Moving in a way where you are not stopped and you do not occupy another tile will not result in your death while weak. 4: Another thing with not: if you have something like "not baba is you", that means EVERYTHING in the level, apart from baba, is you*. Edit: 5: YOU GENIUS YOU ACTUALLY GOT THE BONUS LEVEL 6: I get that loud CHHHHK issue too, dude. It's definitely not just your computer, I'd have to guess it's definitely the game. * Except for text. Making "not baba is you" does not let you control text. Nor does it let you control empty space, which will sound like a strange thing to state until you start playing around with "empty".
Some advice; slow down, Figure out what you can and cant do, list all of your options. Then start at the win condition and work backwards from there. Also you really need to ask yourself why and how an idea useful, because you get into these loops that stops all your progress and frustrate you. Like that robot puzzle, how is "baba is move" useful? its not but you kept banging your head on it.
I'm pretty sure the problem NL is having is that he's forgetting the fact that he can clone himself using: BABA is X is YOU and replacing X with another entity like the rock and robot from this episode and then he'll have control over 2 or more BABAs. Those were the keys to my solutions when I was playing through these levels and I don't really see how it could be done otherwise.
In my opinion, you need to stop leaving each level when you get confused and just commit to it. You get so close and then you give up. Instead of giving up, try restating facts like "Baba is win" for example. And continue to crack at it. Continously giving up = never winning
Have baba push "win" down, robot is move into the skulls, robot is baba, line up robot to push "win" out of the skulls, baba is you, robot is move. Profit.
Doesn't work, can't get robot back over the skulls to re-construct "baba is you." You have to get the robot over, then remove "move," then make "robot is you" along the bottom with "baba is you" still intact vertically. Then you control both and can make them work together.
Solutions derived by messing with puzzles on my game. Fall-11 Catch:Rock is Push Vertical Halfway across the river, Move to other side move push out of the way. Make Not Rock Is move Push back. Not Rock is Push. Push the water out of the way. Make Rock is push again. Push rock into water two away from word Baba. Add Not before Baba. Push the words together to make: Not Baba is Not You. Get to flag. Fall-12 Dead End: Double Negative. Box is Not Not Push. Fall-8 Ghost Guard: Create a scenario where Leaf is Tele horizontal, and completing a Leaf is Push vertical while stepping on a leaf . Use the pushable tele leaf to move key. Fall Extra 2: Not Fence is Win. Makes everything not the fence a win condition. Lake- Extra 1 Submerged Ruins: Rock is You and Baba is You. Safely move one into the room with flag. Shift over Crab is Defeat so you're already safely on the other side when flag is win. Island - Extra 1 Boiling River: Safely make a Baba is Melt AND You on the bottom. Then make Water is Float. Island-8 Catch the Thief: Know that You can be Robot and Baba at the same time, create a scenario where the robot is on the opposite side of the skulls with the Win text. Egg seriously lacks imagination.

Don't worry about taking long in a puzzle, these get seriously hard. Rule out what doesn't work, question what you know and you'll get there.

There's no way to make Water is You without breaking Baba is You though, so that's not the solution.

Some advice; slow down, Figure out what you can and cant do, list all of your options. Then start at the win condition and work backwards from there. Also you really need to ask yourself why and how an idea useful, because you get into these loops that stops all your progress and frustrate you. Like that robot puzzle, how is "baba is move" useful? its not but you kept banging your head on it.
I'm pretty sure the problem NL is having is that he's forgetting the fact that he can clone himself using:
BABA is X
is
YOU
and replacing X with another entity like the rock and robot from this episode and then he'll have control over 2 or more BABAs. Those were the keys to my solutions when I was playing through these levels and I don't really see how it could be done otherwise.

In my opinion, you need to stop leaving each level when you get confused and just commit to it. You get so close and then you give up. Instead of giving up, try restating facts like "Baba is win" for example. And continue to crack at it. Continously giving up = never winning

He restarted every puzzle before attempting a solve, except the last one when all it needed was a restart.

Can you do a double negative? Ie "flag is not not push" therefore flag is push?
Have baba push "win" down, robot is move into the skulls, robot is baba, line up robot to push "win" out of the skulls, baba is you, robot is move. Profit.
Doesn't work, can't get robot back over the skulls to re-construct "baba is you."
You have to get the robot over, then remove "move," then make "robot is you" along the bottom with "baba is you" still intact vertically. Then you control both and can make them work together.

Fall-11 Catch:Rock is Push Vertical Halfway across the river, Move to other side move push out of the way. Make Not Rock Is move Push back. Not Rock is Push. Push the water out of the way. Make Rock is push again. Push rock into water two away from word Baba. Add Not before Baba. Push the words together to make: Not Baba is Not You. Get to flag.
Fall-12 Dead End: Double Negative. Box is Not Not Push.
Fall-8 Ghost Guard: Create a scenario where Leaf is Tele horizontal, and completing a Leaf is Push vertical while stepping on a leaf . Use the pushable tele leaf to move key.
Fall Extra 2: Not Fence is Win. Makes everything not the fence a win condition.
Lake- Extra 1 Submerged Ruins: Rock is You and Baba is You. Safely move one into the room with flag. Shift over Crab is Defeat so you're already safely on the other side when flag is win.
Island - Extra 1 Boiling River: Safely make a Baba is Melt AND You on the bottom. Then make Water is Float.
Island-8 Catch the Thief: Know that You can be Robot and Baba at the same time, create a scenario where the robot is on the opposite side of the skulls with the Win text.
