I knew about this locking feature for years. Take it from an old shop teacher. It works for most brands. I also found very little documentation about this feature.
@1:25:30. Bosch 12v this 4:1 years before red/yeller. The Bosch has the best over all size. Enough power for cabinet work and fine precision angle or canter work. The others changed the attachment lock. I payed $130 for the kit. I will say the dewalts blow mold kit would be nice for Bosch but I just bought a Gun box and foam.
On the Harbor Freight section you mentioned the Warrior drill was the only drill in that comparison that was not brushless. When you put up the specs for the Bauer drill, it looks like you posted the brushed hammer drill specs. Did you use the brushed Bauer drill or the brushless? I couldn't see in any pictures if the word "brushless" was on the side of the drill as the brushless version does have this printed on the side.
But... this secret locking chuck feature... isn't the bit locked in place regardless? Because, to me, "locked in place" simply means the drill bit is securely in the chuck.
The counter clockwise click is literally ret@rded. When u wind the clutch it ratchets and the bit is locked in. How much more do u need it locked in. Run some tests. The bit will come out the same amount or more if u click it backwards after chucking it
That cabinet actually has a smaller compartment built into the door. I keep stud finders in there. You can open either the mini-compartment in the door, or the whole door.
@@LRN2DIY Word. Next video needs to show that, if you haven't already. In other words, you need to change your entire schedule for one person's request. 😉
@@Dirtyharry70585 I can get Metabo tools from Lowes, as I said. I did not need your advice, but I asked for a comparison of Metabo brand tools alongside the already-included brands.
Research is a challenge! It’s the real reason so much propaganda and misinformation works so well! Nobody is willing to put in the work and actually do the research. As you have done so well, following every lead right to the end. You could have given in half way through and felt confident you had done your due diligence. But then this video would have turned out far different. Thank you!
This is the most comprehensive class on cordless drills. Thank you so much for creating this class and sharing it with us, Nils. You're the best.
I'm in my60s and have just started using tools. You're a great resource. Thank you.

Thank you, Nils! I haven't been notified of a video in ages! As always, great information about drills. ( Rigid user, as well.)👍
Very helpful Nils, thank you
Great to learn this new feature. I will definitely use this from now on.
Look at the rest of the video
Man, I really wish you would have tested some Skil. I’ve been hearing really good things about them.

Informative. Thanks
I love drill lore
I think the big surprise here Is that everyone you spoke to in support sounded like English was their first language.
Great video

Thanks for spending your own money.
So kind of you! Thanks a ton, and yeah - we felt we had to buy everything for these videos to keep it objective.

Nils, why do you have an upper corner cabinet with two knobs?

I just started locking the chuck like that. Did it on accident and thought well, what do you know.
I own some Metabo tools and wish you would compare those, available from Lowes.
Menards are a metabo retailer. Or buy from on metabo store.

My old Porter Cable drill doesn't have this locking feature, but no, I'm not going to buy another drill until it literally dies.
Or buy a new Chuck
@@Dirtyharry70585 no, I don't think so.
Great compilation but a lot of redundancy
Really?? Over 2 hrs.
As a Dewalt cordless drill user, I can confirm that drills bit has been falling out a lot. I will give this reverse lock a try.
