My preferred method is to use a scalpel to just get in under the components heat the joint and just lift the end either by twisting the blade or using it like a seesaw with another component. Little bit more controlled. Nice video by the way.
Next Aliexpress purchase, tweezers! Get yourself to Poundland when they open again, they have a multi pack which has a set of forceps in the pack, very useful 👍
Cheers Craig, I do have lots of tweezers...somewhere in the workshop! I keep meaning to do a tour video but its too embarrassing just now lol. I have 8 days off work after tonight so I'm going to get organised lol
I had to do this, this week, but my terrible soldering iron meant I over did and pull up the copper pads.... so resorting to using a dab of super glue is hold the switch in place, and using conductive paint.... here's hoping
Never soldered in my life but managed to fix the key of my mini thanks to your video! Thanks!! 🙏
Good to see you back Kris, these videos are the only thing keeping me sane right now 👍

Just followed your instructions repairing my wife's car remote ('08 Yaris) and it went pretty well! Thanks for the content
I just bought an inner replacement. Scooped out the old, and replaced it with the new insert, all for under a fiver£5👍🏼

@@KrisCochrane Haha, you should see the state of my shed, that's why my videos only show my cutting mat!
Where did you buy those buttons or share a link to to seller
What kind of repair person would you take to fix something like this?
I fear my dexterity ( arthritis) could wreck the whole thing. I'm a bit scared of the soldering iron.( I do have tweezers though!)
where can i find this buttons?

You'd be better using 'bodge' wires.
Would liked to have seen it working with the car
Why? Do you not think it would work? 🤔
😂 i trust it would but just for completeness
Man... you need some tweezers
Easy fix...hahaha!
