I've been playing this game since April 2018 and while I might be a pirate legend, PvP is my weak spot. I've definitely improved but it always makes me dread sailing, especially since there's so many savages on the seas these days. I only recently discovered your channel but I love it. Watching you easily fight other pirates gives the confidence that I definitely need during combat. Thanks Captain! Can't wait for more videos!

The game has come back from nearly dying. Just 6 months ago it was still looking grim but thanks to hitbotc and other streamers like him, and of course the whole rare team things are looking better than ever on the seas
Me and my friend sunk a Brig with a sloop today for the first time. I used to suck at PVP but I ended up doing what you would do in that situation and we came out on top. Thanks Mate

nope! atleast... not right now? (new update coming out tomorrow... not sure if it fixed it or not) Make sure you "hit" an object or pirate to help with the cooldown.
Here’s some more good tips: You can penetrate through surfaces (I have only successfully penetrated through 2 layers), you can use any weapon to penetrate including swords so if ur on a sloop and want to ladder guard u simply go to the side closest to the stairs on the small windows on the map room and spam attack or just shoot through it, same goes for the brig but I’ve never tested the galleon. Rare did say they patched it on the patch notes but they obviously didn’t and I have used it in combat today. Another tip is that if u have ur sails on the front when ur going against the wind ur faster, this makes a highly noticeable difference when chasing a boat or a boat chasing u.

I have taught so many people these tips I have learned. Because when I put them to use I started slaying other pirates as if I was some demi god slaying a dragon. But for real amazing tips. They work. Alot of people don't know about the block jump
I tell my friends the same thing. The only way to get better at pvp is to engage others, Their motto is if we leave them alone, they won't attack us. It drives me nuts because it never goes down that way. I finally got one of my friends on board and when we sloop it, we hold our own pretty well. Also, love the videos.
If you are using the sword and are gonna miss your target swing at the ground or a wall or something as long as your sword makes contact you don’t get the little cooldown before you can swing again
How does this not have a million views!?! This is probably the most well explained video for the combat system i've seen. Thank you for not sugarcoating it - practice makes perfect.
Another tip that I think is important: Only swipe your sword when your close to someone, and make sure you jump around them while doing so, to avoid their blocks and attacks.

Hitbotc unsure. Ive been using these combat tactics against skeletons (had to face them a LOT cuz of Tall Tales) and there’s an issue still with the block attack. I could just be doing something wrong as well but idk imma test it out some more today
Another good tip is DO NOT TRUST ANYONE!! Always keep your guard up even around friendly players. I don’t know how many times me and my crew have completely destroyed people just because they let their guards down.

Hitbotc my crew and I onetime stole around 100k in loot from an entire alliance. And when they finally found out we took it...well the fire works were really pretty.
Rare should add a PvP reputation system that increases when you do PvP stuff like killing another pirate, sinking a ship, selling a stolen item, challenges like drop 5 enemy ship anchors, steal 100 bananas, cannonballs, ect from an enemy ship, kill 25 pirates with a pistol, sword ect, kill enemy pirates affected by curseballs, detonate 15 barrels on enemy ships to name a few things. Call it “Notoriety”.

I have my weapons mostly setup for me being in the crows nest 80% of the time, with a cutlass and an eye or reach. Me and my crew find it very useful when I stay on board the ship with my telescope and sniper at the ready so I can attack the skeletons while they look for treasure, and use the telescope to spot other ships that look like they are heading our way
Hitbotc I didn’t even know there was a change in the bullet velocity since I am fairly new to the game. Also thanks for the tips, found it very useful for when I do have to pick up a blunderbuss and have my mates shoot me across to the other ship so thanks :)
recently i have been using the cutlass and the eye of reach the eye of reach is good for no scopes up close and just one sword swing and bam their did or the cutlass and the pistol (i forgot what it was called) just one lung/charge and a shot two really good combos

I can only hope this helps the community a little because the average player is awful in PvP and I start to feel bad for them. But then again with the benefits of the alliance system there's not really a need for PVP anymore which I'm mixed about. The payout for getting the whole server to Alliance up is amazing but I do miss just running around robbing people. But quality video man.
@@HitboTC Completely agree, I earned more than half my levels from skullforts and PvP. I miss the tension another boat on the horizon used to offer. But there's no real incentive currently to engage in PvP sadly. Now it's just bored legends like myself or inexperienced pirates that mainly PvP.

I follow these tips all the time and honestly they help me in almost any situation. Lately not so much as almost everyone I fight is using the damn double gun or macro and it makes this sort of combat skill useless if they happen to land their shot on you. But these are very useful tips and if you master each one of these techniques you will strike fear into the hearts of your enemies!!
This is a bit of an older video now but technically speaking Rare made it so you can swipe now at running speed so there is no need to do this even if you still could.
That's the best pvp tutorial I've seen so far for this game! Really like your moves with the sword. I should consider it changing as I am filthy double gun pvp user.
Great video. My main weakness is constantly getting beat in PVP. I tend to slash and prey and watching your vid I think this is wrong. The block seems like the best secret but I never do it. Cant quite get the hang of that block lunge attack sequence at the end of the vid..sorry if im a bit slow but really wanna get the hang of this. Shooting the bell is an amazing idea for shooting practise. 2 questions here..everytime I try and hipfire a skelly I cant seem to kill him so does hipfiring a human opponent work..or should I aim first? And does the bell aiming idea work at reasonable distance with blunderbuss? Oh and one more...does a headshot do more damage on this game? Thanks, sorry theres so many questions..just really want to improve on pvp!
So many questions... Lets see if I can shed some light. - Blocking is key in sword combat. Sometimes staying alive is more important then getting a hit in. - Hip firing on skellies is a great way to practice. It is also a great way to practice the sword lunge technique. - Bell aiming with Blunderbuss is kinda pointless. Blunders best aspect is the pushback it does and if you can get a pointblank shot. Instant kill. Hope that helps mate!

I use your sword lunge constantly now. Most players think they can block it so it a free first hit usually.
It still is very deadly! Used to be more deadly before the sword swiping and all that, but its still a good one. :D

I think they actually fixed the block then attack after a lunge. I just tried it and you have like a 3 second pause before you can do any other action
Unless they just fixed it in the last patch I am still able to do it.

I had no idea about attack and block at the same time.
Its a VERY fast one, but basically attack (click) and block (click) while running forward (not sprinting) will give you a running slash.

The Black Dog flintlock is what I use and I picked it up from watching a Mixer stream a long time ago.

I follow these tips all the time and honestly they help me in almost any situation. Lately not so much as almost everyone I fight is using the damn double gun or macro and it makes this sort of combat skill useless if they happen to land their shot on you. But these are very useful tips and if you master each one of these techniques you will strike fear into the hearts of your enemies!!

Run,block doesn’t work anymore. Glitch is fixed.. I just tried it for 15 min and my thumb hurts...
This is a bit of an older video now but technically speaking Rare made it so you can swipe now at running speed so there is no need to do this even if you still could.

That's the best pvp tutorial I've seen so far for this game! Really like your moves with the sword. I should consider it changing as I am filthy double gun pvp user.
Why did they move the bell in the latest update?
They talked about it in the stream today. It points to something in the future that they are working on.

Great video. My main weakness is constantly getting beat in PVP. I tend to slash and prey and watching your vid I think this is wrong. The block seems like the best secret but I never do it.
Cant quite get the hang of that block lunge attack sequence at the end of the vid..sorry if im a bit slow but really wanna get the hang of this.
Shooting the bell is an amazing idea for shooting practise. 2 questions here..everytime I try and hipfire a skelly I cant seem to kill him so does hipfiring a human opponent work..or should I aim first? And does the bell aiming idea work at reasonable distance with blunderbuss? Oh and one more...does a headshot do more damage on this game?

So many questions... Lets see if I can shed some light.
- Blocking is key in sword combat. Sometimes staying alive is more important then getting a hit in.
- Hip firing on skellies is a great way to practice. It is also a great way to practice the sword lunge technique.
- Bell aiming with Blunderbuss is kinda pointless. Blunders best aspect is the pushback it does and if you can get a pointblank shot. Instant kill.
