If Lockley had any scholastic integrity, he shouldn't have ran off. He should've taken accountability. But him running off like that just paints himself a fraud.

    hello! I am Japanese.
I'm using a translation tool, so I'm sorry if the sentences are weird.
Don't get me wrong, for Japanese people, the fact that the main character is a black man named Yasuke is not a big problem.
He wasn't actually a samurai, but if UbiSoft explicitly says it's fiction and portrays him as a samurai, the Japanese will accept it.
Of course, this time the story is set in Japan, so I would have liked it to be Japanese if possible, but that's just a wish, and not enough to make me angry.
What is at stake is whether it is fiction or non-fiction, and whether it is fiction but is marketed as 'historically faithful''.
Thomas Lockley was spreading a false history outside of Japan, so if Ubisoft announced that they had been deceived by Thomas, the problem could end.
However, the issue of copyright infringement needs to be resolved separately.

This time, the Japanese government has admitted the existence of a game called "Assassin's Creed Shadow."
Mr. Hamada first blocked the government's excuses so as not to say, "Ubisoft is a private company, so the government doesn't know anything and everything hasn't been confirmed.".
The government hasn't done anything yet.
    The battle has just begun.

    Answering to your question.
    1. There were no slavery as system in Japan so no clear answer. There were Chinese and Korean from outside Japan and there were not treated as slavery in western definition.
    2. Japan were not a easy place to reach from over sea. Black people were only possibly brought by western countries such as Portuguese, Dutch, and English.
    3. Today there are many Black people in Japan. Do you hear racist cry from them?

This whole farce is biased on pretty much nothing, everything known about Yasuke amounts to 2-3 paragraphs in the Shincho Koki nothing in that writing really points to him been a Samurai, hell we don't even know if he was even African for sure.

I watched a lot of English channels, but there are still many people who don't understand the problems. I feel that it is necessary to constantly disseminate information about UBI and Thomas Lockley's evil deeds.

A page who serves beside his lord is a position held by the children of high-ranking samurai. Even at a young age, these pages have considerable salaries and land. Yasuke was simply entrusted by Nobunaga to run odd jobs for him, and was not an official page to the head of the Oda clan. This is because a page needs to be able to read the lord's inner thoughts from his delicate use of words and facial expressions and respond accordingly (equivalent to a company president's secretary in modern terms). Would you appoint someone who cannot perfectly understand Japanese to such an important position? A normal person wouldn't, right?

I still think it happened because Ubisoft honestly didn't even notice they were doing anything wrong. I've heard when they were sending gift packages to Japanese influencers, there were spelling mistakes in names, addresses, and the form letter and the gifts included figures of historical warriors with the wrong war banner attached; it seems entirely plausible Ubisoft's research consisted of looking up the name of a mythical Japanese sword, buying the first thing which popped up with that name (and as can be instantly proven by doing this with any of the works of literature Disney has adapted into movies, it's unsurprising that pop culture would turn up first), and assuming they were fine. If you tell a grade school student to write a college paper, the lack of a proper bibliography shouldn't come as a shock. The level of competence has dropped.

ACS is just one page in the steady, behind-the-scenes history falsification.
Wiki rewrite (letting the world know that there was a man named Yasuke in the Sengoku period in Japan) ➡Wiki rewrite (edited to say that Yasuke could have been a samurai) ➡ Publication of a fake Japanese history book (edited to show that Yasuke could have been a samurai) ➡Wiki rewrite (edited to say that Yasuke was a samurai and famous in Japan) ➡ Publication of a fake overseas history book (determined that Yasuke was a samurai) ➡ Spread to the world using BBC, CNN, TIME, NHK, etc. ➡ Spread through anime, etc.(Published as fiction) ➡ Spread through games (ACS:Announced to be based on historical fact) ➡ Hollywood movies ➡? .
ACS is just one page in the quiet history falsification, but the Japanese have finally realized it. If it continues like this, Japanese history will be rewritten, so they think they have to stop it here, and are desperately fighting back by finding evidence of history falsification.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
I was very impressed by your calm and deep consideration of this topic and your accurate understanding of us Japanese people.
The Japanese who participated in the petition to cancel the release do not actually think that the release will be canceled.
We also do not intend to criticize gamers for purchasing and enjoying ACS after it is released. Because gamers have not done anything to us. We are just angry about what UBI and Thomas Lockley are doing to Japan and the Japanese people.
However, there is no problem if you understand that ACS is a story of a completely different world that does not depict samurai, let alone Japanese history, culture, customs, or customs.
I watched a walk-through video of Japan Expo 2024 shared by someone else on TH-cam, and it seemed like there was a line at the UBI booth. As you said, I think it just looked unpopular because of the timing of the photo.
7/21 I found a small typo so I fixed it.

In the past, a fabricated article in Japan caused a deterioration in Japan-Korea relations that is still irreparable.
It was later the article turned out to be a lie, but that did not solve the problem.
Don't underestimate a single game. Assassin's Creed is a series of games that have been used as educational materials, museum materials, and even as material for the reconstruction of Notre Dame.
ACS is not just a game, in a good way.

You know a lot of non historian think the ficitonal romance of three kingdom is factual history of the three kingdom period, and that is only 1 fiction and it did not claim it is historical unlike what ubisoft did to ACS.
