    Incredible video! I've been trying to do something similar for a while now but couldn't find anything else that felt nearly like celeste as this one!

    Thank you for this video.
    Good to see that you use the new input system, so many still use the old one because it is "simple".

    To perfectly replicate Madeline's hair movement it looks like the hair's pixels are moving strictly. If you pause and zoom in, you will see pixels that are occupying multiple individual pixel spaces. But, in Celeste, it doesn't do this. Any idea how I can achieve the strict pixel placement? Maybe rounding?

    Great video, and the concept is explained well, but what if the art style is not pixel art?

    • @ShapedByRainStudios
      @ShapedByRainStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for the kind words and I'm glad you thought so! That's a great question and I think it depends on the art style. If it's not too far off from pixel art, you could probably make the hair parts more detailed - and with some fine-tuning make it look good.
      If it's a more detailed illustration though, you might be better off with a different approach. Unfortunately, I'm not too experienced with how that might work, but you _might_ be able to do something with animation rigging to get a similar feel. That's just a hunch though based on the little I know about animation rigging! Best of luck! 🙂

    do you know how does the hair get an outline in celeste?

    • @ShapedByRainStudios
      @ShapedByRainStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! 🙂 That's a great question, but unfortunately I'm not sure how they did that. You *might* be able to achieve that with shaders/shadergraph in Unity, but that's just a hunch based on the little bit that I know about shaders.

    • @tomuridev
      @tomuridev 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShapedByRainStudios i was thinking about shadergraph, thank you for answering!

      @@ShapedByRainStudios Ok, i duplicated the hair anchor, made all little hair parts black and increased it in size, it looks great

    • @ShapedByRainStudios
      @ShapedByRainStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tomuridev Ah good thinking! You could even put the black hair parts on a lower sorting layer (if you haven't already) and that'd probably look just like in Celeste. Thanks for the update. 🙂

    recreate this in Godot pls
    most ppl are switching over to Unreal, Godot and Game Maker now. A lot of Unity projects moved over to Unreal over the last few months
