Watching on 0.25 speed for a 12 hour dopamine hit straight to the dome piece
Watched the whole thing on 1.5 speed because I love the way nl sounds at that speed. The chipmunk giggle gives me a huge dopamine hit.

It didn't have a bit of non-psycho mining though, his new strategy of going up/down is better than mining randomly, but then he randomly decides to go somewhere else.

The unholy gadget trinity of synergy: portal for probe refreshes, repellant for longer waves for portal to send back more resources, probe to find the motherlodes to send back with the teleporter. Pure perfection.

How many times did we see this man spend triangles for multiplier and we went "NOOOOO" well who's laughing now. All of us and him I'd wager. What a damn run
Some math here involved. Every 2 triangles spent give him 1 point per wave. Meanwhile, every 2 triangles not spent give him health to survive one more wave for +100 points.

they might also say that mining vertically is the same as mining horizontally, but mining horizontally every 5~ blocks anyway means you're not really mining vertically, you're just doing both for no reason

This might seem like the ultimate psycho mining strategy, but since the gadgets and the iron are always in at least a 2x2 block, you can actually mine every 3 levels instead of every 2. You cut down the amount of mining per area by 50% and you only miss out on ⅓ of the water and cobalt, while getting 150% oc your usual amount of iron
This is how I do it starting from the third layer.

The bit about the teleporter absolutely sent me
The question at 20:56 is a really interesting one. IMO it depends what type of teleportation it is, wormholes are fine but the Willy Wonka esc teleportation where you're atomized then perfectly reconstructed somewhere else is a big no no for me.
I've seen some comics presenting "public" teleportation as remotely making an exact body clone of yourself on you destination and then ctrl+X paste your brain data to the clone before desintegrating the first body
@@Lucas-dw4jn It's so fucking scary. You have no idea, if that teleportation would kill you, because the teleported "you" would feel like it worked perfectly fine. I'm going to puke.

Rebuttal to vertical mining: Mining vertically means you can't drag resources to the centre. It also means having to catch and resources that fall when you're mining upwards. Plus just a bunch of waste mining creating frequent loops instead of long trenches.
I cannot explain in words how much I loved this episode, it’s just perfect.

All the Lift needs is to pick up the first thing they run into instead of going through a whole cycle so you can go all the way to derock and work your way up. That way you can pull things up to shorten how much time it takes for them to bring stuff up

NL: Well here's the thing... It's like, if there was a risk to it then I don't really want to do it. But if there was no risk to it, why wouldn't I do it? Which kind of negates the spirit of the question to begin with. So I apologise to you, I don't think I can give you an answer that satisfies the conditions of the question. TRIANGLES that's very nice.

glad NL got past the backseaters. guy pulls out great runs in almost every game he plays and people are still like why arent you playing optimally
Getting the score is impressive, but what is even more impressive is how far he pushed his personal best. If it were me, I might have ended the run at 600 , or at 1000, or at 2000 or any point where it was even slightly risky. Bank that, improve the PB and try again in a new run. But he believed and he had the bravery to push it to the limit. I respect that.
