Yes Vince, nice addition! The Isley brothers..........wow. "WHo's that Lady". The guitar player from The Isley's played with or learned from Jimi Hendrix, didnt he??
MrTechSide, you are correct! Many Funk Bands have come from Ohio. Here are a few that come to mind: 1) Dazz Band (Formerly Kinzman-Dazz Band. Named from the Neighborhood on Kinsman Rd on the east side of Cleveland) 2) O'Jays 3) Lavert (the son of on the OJays was in it, but died "accidentally in jail) 3) Ohio PLayers 4) Roger Trautman and ZAPP (Dayton area). Dave Chappelle hails from Dayton too 5) Average White Band (Cinnci) Can you add a few?
I think, The Isleys are from Ohio as well. But for the record, Average White Band was NOT from Ohio. They're not even from the US. They're from Scotland originally, then their drummer from Cut the Cake onwards was from England.
If you watch this man on soul train although you hear the bass you don't see the bass player. But on this live version I'm not sure if that's the original bass player but you see who's playing the bass, don't you!
Music is love. Doesn't matter who brings it as long as it grooves.
That crowd is on jam the way its supposed to be
Can't help but to start groovin when this one comes on! One of my favorite tunes by AWB.
Can you use jingle bells in a funk jam? Yes yes I think you can.
Jingle bells, dingle balls. Unlimited.
I like seeing my people enjoying themselves when music starts. ❤❤❤❤❤ Brothers and Sisters We All We Have, let's do better towards each other..
i got to find my home town star and here him in person. Saginaw Michigan representing.
They're jamming so hard on this they got me crying this came out when I was the seventh grade.
Grown folk's music...jack

If you aren't up or toe tapping, head rockin. Somethings seriously off, this band rocks!

One of the coldest instrumentals EVER made!!
Shoutout to CINCINNATI (Avondale). I come from Mt. Auburn but now reside in Brooklyn, NY. Cincy was the BOMB back in the 70's and 80's!!!
AWB was a band for the people. These fools are obviously for the people too. Play that good good funk.
Brothers and sisters of all colors, shapes and sizes are in the FUNK GROOVE and loving it
Look, no phones just feeling it and moving
Old School...is the "Truth"!
We had the great honor of playing on a show they headlined a few weeks ago.
AWB are from Scotland ,but you can add The Isley Brothers & Bootsy Collins
Lincoln Hgts. ...Cincinnati Ohio!

Alan Gorie is still and is the original bassist.
But seems like Alan is playing the rhythm guitar here...
The black dude is playing the bass...
I just saw them recently. Alan switched to guitar for this song. The keyboard player played bass. Alan played bass most of the show.
Hamish Stuart is playing bass on the Soul Train version.
