I didn’t realise Nick was going to pin my first comment! thought it was going to get lost in the comments! Thank you all so much for taking the time to look at the video & comment on my baby! it’s been a labour of love & your kind words very humbling . I had a lot of great people and help on the way, I couldn’t do it on my own. Thanks to Akzonobel, Desty Marine, Sola, Mantis Marine & Ardent just to name a few, these cover the main refit bits if you are interested? Paint, Re fit company, Upholstery, flexiteek & Boat moving & Specialist part locating. The most help and understanding my wife & daughters! I Hope to one day see some you guys out their it’s addictive! I /we really REALLY appreciate you all & your words & Nick especially for his time & inspiration on his channel. Rich
Fabulous boat Rich, she is a credit to your hard work & vision. Amazing to see what you can do with a bit of imagination, patience & love even on a slightly older girl. Great job! 👏🏻
Richard I don't normally comment on YT videos but I have to say thank you to you, you've done an amazing job with that boat and you can tell you're happy with it in the video, if I win the lottery I'm coming for your opinion on boats. Thanks for letting Nick show us around.
How good to meet an owner who cherishes the originality of a boat and remodels so sympathetically and to such a high standard . it all looks totally in keeping with the original design. stunning !!.
What a really honest owner Rich is, not ashamed to say he’s on a limited by budget and as such what a lovely boat he and his understanding family have now. Clever use of limited budget to get the very best bang for buck to quote our America cousins. I’m sure the previous owners would be delighted with the resulting upgrade. Love these “ meet the owner vids” Nick. Thanks
I loved Richard's honesty almost as much as I loved his boat. "Boating on a budget." .... and we cruise at 20 knots because of fuel consumption. Cheers!
Truly making an "old boat" new without taking away the original feel. What a great job. Some basic changes, like flush mounting the doors and drawers, that bring the ethos of the 21st century. And the owners philosophy of a "make over" shows everywhere you look. Beauty vessel, lovingly cared after to this day. Thanks for your efforts. Keep enjoying this boat!
Well what can I say nick, another owner who knows how to care for his boat retro as well as a few bits of modern pieces! I am envious of the 15 boats in 15 years though nick what a great achievement from an owner who has boating in his blood!
Fantastic boat and owner. Cant stress enough how good it is to see someone living the dream without making millions a year. Most of us fit in that category after all. Cheers and all the best.
I do really enjoy meeting the owners, I like this boat and you can feel how much he loves his boat. Before watching your channel (last 1.5 to 2 years ish) I always assumed boat people would be snobby but EVERY SINGLE PERSON you have dealt with on your channel has been great- of course it may have something to do with you- it's so clear that you are a kind, friendly and very knowledgeable boat guy- keep up doing a great job on your videos. For someone who will never own a boat and will never even be on a boat that has beds, I just love your videos. Thanks
One word jumps in my face, and thats "boater". No matter what size or price the boat has, he loves it, lives with it and learns its personalitys. Totaly champ of a personality to. Thank you for a great video once again :)
Great owners video Nick. I really appreciated Richards honesty regards boating on a budget as I think there are a lot of us that can relate to that! Personally my boating journey has been a similar one, find it, refresh it, move on to the next bigger and hopefully better one! Hard work really pays off Richard, well done! 👍🏻 Keep the reviews coming Nick. Regards.
Another brilliant “meet the owner” video illustrates owning a boat on a budget is possible. Lovely restoration of a classic Sunseeker. Keep them coming Nick and watch out Graham Norton there’s another interviewer on the block
Two boat lovers, riffing about the past and its importance in the present and future, was just joyful. Very honest breakdown of living with a boat by the owner. I thought his passion and honesty, will actually encourage the wary, to dip their toes in. Loved it.
I enjoy the meet the owner tours. It breaks up the monotony of the average tour I mean how many different boats and different models are there. Nice to see owners retrofitting and taking care of their boats.
If it was done on a budget, it was sufficient. She really is a beautiful boat. Well she is a Sunseeker. It was nice of Rich and you to show us around her. Thank you Nick. 👍
Lovely gentleman, and friendly to see that you can have a nice boat on a budget. Also, love the attention to detail on this one. It's beautifully done. Thanks for showing us around nick!
Another great meet the owner. Its very nice to see someone who loves what he does. Not many people left who had the dedication that the two of you have. If that yacht could talk the story's it could tell. Thank you both for your experiences. Stay safe out there.
Cracking video on a wet Sunday afternoon Nick. Genuine bloke who clearly has a lot of pride and enjoyment with his boat. Love the way he interacted with you going round. 👍👍👍
So glad to see the possibility. We have a 1988 32 ft Carver. I've refreshed the interior and now taking on the exterior projects. It's our getaway and we love it!
Something old feels more like a machine that was built for its purpose. I had an old 1968 Triumph Bonneville built by you lads over there...you did a bang up job; I miss her every day.
Best meet the owner yet. Superb attention to detail and seems like a throughly decent bloke. I love the big boy boats but more “real world” restorations like this would be greatly appreciated.
As a few have already said, what a great down to earth bloke! Really enjoyed this one, made a little more interesting because it was a Sunseeker and what a lovely Sunseeker she is. Modernised but with enough originality to keep her what she should be. Great video, thank you.
And thank you Nick and the owner of this nice Sunseeker Martinique what a show again the story of this boat the love and devotion of the owners and this share with you and us, I can hardly wait what you bring us next time thank you again
Thank you Richard for sharing, the refit looks fantastic. It's hard to believe it's 30 years old, paint and interior are extremely well done! Your boating history was also interesting and it's the right way to go. Thank you Nick another really nice interview.
Love these feature videos, and the "boating on a budget" approach is a good look at boating life for those of us entry-level chaps. Also, I dare say NICK is toying with us regarding Aquaholic Bingo!
Those were the days when boats were proper boats, it looked stunning, who wants a new boat when you have something as beautiful as that, amazing re-fit have to say, & a enthusiastic owner as well great interview all round epic
Awesome video. Rich speaks well and understands you style of reviewing boats/ Yachts and gave a terrific walk through. The takeaway I found is how beautiful the older boats are and Rich did such an excellent job on the refit, it fires me up to look into the possibilities of doing the same. Brilliant as always Nick and thank you.
After chatting with you the other day Nick about the cost benefits of maybe a 3 year old boat, to see what Richard has done with a 30 year old lady is magnificent, what a triumph - the world is my lobster for sure! 😃👋🏻
Yeah, my Dad's need to go fishing every weekend he could is why I love boats. The old man is definitely a Captain Ahab but some of my best memories are on the water and exploring Northern Canada and its lakes and rivers.
Great video Nick thanks. I really like the idea of giving new life to these older boats. It's really a case of 'the quality is remembered when the price is forgotten'. A 'canny' buyer could grab a bargain!
Thankyou Nick for another excellent video. What a interesting and articulate owner. Skillful and respectful of a classic boat. Love these meet the owner, you learn so much. The joy of boating.
That’s what I’ve been doing also. I’ll buy a boat that needs everything, and get rite to it on a refit. I enjoy the refitting’s as much or more than cruising them. A weekend installing new updates, is as rewarding as a cruise!
What a nice chap, an amazing job done bringing the boat up to spec and it’s amazing to see that you don’t have to spend too much of money to enjoy boating! Thanks Nick!
What a great refit of this beautiful older boat and great tour as well mateI think this is one of my favourite meet the owner thanks for sharing can’t wait to see Richards boat now Nick 👍🇨🇦
Rich has had a lot of help however, there's the final decisions made here that really make it all round fantastic. The light colour choice interior, bringing that out of the cabin (not many would do that), that blue metallic on the stripe is amazing. The boat really looks like it wants to go faster though I would not consider this a negative. Rich seems like he need apologize for the budget, when in fact there's not many that would put so much time, effort never mind money into such a project. Amazing boat, an even amazing owner, maybe next time take it out for a jaunt. :) Rich more than earned a pair of socks I'd say. Thanks to Rich, and Nick of course.
Great review! I love these meeting with the owners and I love that you found a way to find somewhere to tuck yourself away to read a good book! Awesome! The boat itself is 30 years old and it is in unbelievable condition! Well loved and well re-fitted!
All the meet the owner series have been good, but this was my favourite, Richard seemed a really nice guy, and seeing how you can work your way up the boating ladder on a budget will be an inspiration to a large percentage of your viewers. Good work 👍
Hi Nick and Richard. Wow. A very proud owner, history with loads of boats. Refit is a great combination with old and new. Boating on a budget. Great video thanks 😊
Another great video from Nick and the guy being interviewed is such a great speaker and thoroughly interesting to listen to and how he has maintained his boat and a very humble attitude to the previous owners. not knocking Nick but this guy has a good voice to do boating videos and the way he explains things.
Nice one, Nick and Rich , a man who keeps it , as it was ment to be with subtle up grades along the way . Yes , NO Caravans please . a friend of ours , on his Portofino 25 , still has the original upholstery from 1986 inside and out and if you cut him and his son in half , I am sure sunseeker would run through them like a stick off rock . Nice place Wareham , as we run out of Christchurch , ex Portofino 31 , now running our second scorpion rib , as we live near by , hope to see you out for the Sunseeker rally with this years airshow . A credit to you Ritch , if you never make it to Falmouth in this one , there will be no need to go bigger .
All class guys. I really enjoyed this tour and the easy chat that came with it. Beautiful boat Richard, congratulations on finding your calling early in life. Thank you and be well.
Nice to see a more original restoration rather than a complete update of everything with new. My favourite boat and what I aspire to for sure, just need to find the £60k+ to buy it and ongoing budget to keep it! The exterior paint sounds particularly interesting though, will look that up
Such a lovely review Nick, beautiful old girl and the best meet the owner yet (sorry Jim D is a close 2nd)! You’ve got me thinking about older boats now! And great to hear about the mooring options outside of a marina.
This might be the best “meet the owner” yet. Beautiful restoration, brilliant interview. I swear, if I ever make it to the UK, I’m taking you both out for a pint(s) on me. I loved every minute of this and I appreciate it. Thanks to the both of you and all the best.
I know how he feels, we had a Portifino 32. With twin Yamaha 260s. A very quick boat Had many happy times with her. Then as he said the calling of cabins. Then a Windy Grand Mistral 37. Currently now a Princess V39. A very good journey, from a Fletcher Sports cruiser 19 with a 115 merc 2 stroke!
Made me smile 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I’ve gone windsurfer, 18’plywood Broads cruiser, 25’ 1970’s fibreglass yacht then a layoff for a decade and a half back into Laser, Wanderer, Nimbus and currently a Swift Trawler. It’s all about the journey 🤓🤓
Lovely boat and what a very personable gentleman , and obviously very knowledgeable about boats as are your good self nick . Best wishes and kind regards to you nick and your guest owner 😀👍👍👍
Such a lovely review Nick, beautiful old girl and the best meet the owner yet (sorry Jim D is a very close 2nd)! You’ve got me thinking about older boats now! Lovely review!
Love the meet the owner videos and this one definitely did not disappoint. Richard seems like a wonderful chap and has done a superb job with his boat 🚤 it is really hard to believe that it is 30 years old. Was great looking around his boat but the interview at the end was the best you have done so far. Really interesting for people looking to start there boating journey.
Wow! I believe this to be the boat where my love for boats and in particular old Sunseekers started... If I am not mistaken we were the first owners! Fond memories on her - even as just a 4 year old boy! This boat certainly fuelled my purchase this year of a 1992 Mohawk 29 which has benefited from refitted with a new interior using the late 90’s Sunseeker style cream leather, cream carpet , new walnut burr dash and running twin 450 Penta’s. I believe the shoes off sign was somethings we put on almost 30 years ago . What’s her name !? Love the channel Nick! And congrats to Richard , great passion 👌
Was this in Jersey? Twin 450 are big engines for a Mohawk. What speed are you getting? I want to fit the new Volvo D6 engines in my Superhawk 43 to replace the D6 370hp engines. I am looking to increase max speed from 43 to 48 knots. Nick : not all of us cruise at 22 knots, I generally cruise at 35 knots unless the seas are not calm in which case I go back to the marina.
Lovely chap and a great re fit. Thought I would add in on our recent July months tour. You got to get out there and go for it. We completed 538 nm. What this means is you can do any mileage in almost any boat sea state permitting. We’re now planning a bigger trip.

Spent a good ten minutes this evening talking about you and your boat this evening on holiday near Plymouth
(All good may I add). Great work
The best so far, an owner that clearly loves his "new" boat and looks very relaxed in it. keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
I would enjoy boating with him, he is a good guy
How good to meet an owner who cherishes the originality of a boat and remodels so sympathetically and to such a high standard . it all looks totally in keeping with the original design. stunning !!.

I really like this bloke. Seems very down to earth.

Was great looking around his boat but the interview at the end was the best you have done so far. Really interesting for people looking to start there boating journey.
Don`t worry Rich you are not the only Sunseeker Nerd! Stunning boat.
I've just emailed the owner to see if he knows.
Hi Christopher, yes, this is indeed ex Scott Free! 🙂
My dad has a mooring in Wareham for his boat and its honestly a great place to keep a boat.
