Furthermore, it is not how long one stays in power that matters. It is what is accomplished that does. This regime has squandered 35 precious years. What else is there for it to accomplish in the next 5 years it hasn't already? The answer is a resounding NOTHING. Regimes staying in power at any cost is not only detrimental to a country's progress, they end badly having failed to prepare for what follows. Worse still, ruling by the will and consent of the people, has been replaced by terror and atrocities committed against the people of Uganda. It is astounding that, there are no institutions political or economic in Uganda today that can do anything about it. Parliament is "useless," according to the Uganda Law Society ( ULS ).The Central Government has been out of control, to do as it pleases since the abrogation of the Uganda Federation and the legitimate 1962 Constitution of Uganda in which it is enshrined back in 1967. This regime has refused to restore them as demanded by an average of 80% of the people of Uganda, as far back as 1986 and later in 1997. So what is the solution to the dire situation we are facing in Uganda today? Since there are no institutions in Uganda capable of dealing with the 55-year old dictatorship, the only way out is for the people themselves to take matters into their own hands to free the country. How could that be done, you may ask? Despots do not give up peacefully. They only do so by force. This regime may seem unassailable from a distance, but in reality it is not. In fact, the writing is already on the wall. Under pressure to stay in power, and fighting for survival from all fronts, the dictator of Uganda is bound to make one fatal mistake as most dictators do, which could swiftly bring him down. It is just a matter of time, but it could materialise sooner than later. We will take back our country.
