Having watched quite a few of your videos, I've determined that you have an awesome personality, fair, honest when necessary, creative, and kind. You see things for how they are and don't buy into BS. Just a decent person. They are rare these days.
Brad, I could not have said it better. Wonderful uplifting person and genius philosopher. So rare in these times. So glad he fixes "time"; easier to know the sweet sadness.
Like naughty children I love Joe and Stian at Vintage Watch Services equally. Although different, they're more similar than different and both wallies of the highest order. I now can't bear to watch any other watch repair channels.
You could've used one of those automobile scratch magic remover pen, it works by filling up the scratches made on the clear coat of the paint. I think that it would have definitely worked as in this case the dial also has got a glossy finish to it which is almost similar to the paint of a car with clear coat on it.
As usual, Nekkid does astounding work, close to perfection in repairs, and for the owner, an expensive lesson learned. Hopefully, he'll take caution with the timepiece and treasure it for many years. No video production is complete without the apprentices, and we were not disappointed.
That was actually insanely bad luck, akin to an account I read in which a guy, upon wearing a $2,000 bespoke suit on its first day, proceeded to spill piping hot oil-saturated ramen noodles all over himself . . . Although this obviously raises the question of why you’d wear such a thing to a casual noodles bar at all . . . 🤷♂️
Never underestimate the power of crusty old man hands. As an old man I can attest to their power and unlimited crustiness. As always, an awesome restore, take care brother. ps- You have the voice of an angel. I will never look at fish or motorbikes in the same way ever again. It hit me in the feels.
I came mainly for the Dad jokes and the endorphin hit when the restored piece is revealed. What I got instead was Motorbike Fish (playing on repeat now in my head) and an astounding moment when you mentioned the broken things inside us. You almost made me cry Joe. Peace, love and blessings to you and yours from Melbourne, Australia
What an exquisite demonstration of the skill and determination it actually takes to restore one of these broken Beauties! I cant thank you enough for the enloyment that brought me!
No disappointment here…he’s lucky to have you to fix this…always fascinating to watch you pull everything apart and the exCitement of putting back together…warm fuzzy feeling..there are some things right in this world…lethal looking chips!!😮😅😊
Another wonderful repair. It is a privilege to watch someone with your great skill and knowledge restore a fine timepiece. Thank you for sharing your amazing craft and musical musings.
2 minutes in the video, I already click liked because I know that you can fix and restore it even if the iconic dail is scratched. You are not a repairman, you are a magician!
Beautifully done Joe. As a Seiko fan, this one made me very happy. Glad I'm not the only one who sings nonsense as I work! "Make a joyful noise unto the lord" God bless you and thanks for another lovely build.😊
Amazing persistence in seeing beyond the superficial damage and doing your best to elicit a well balanced outcome. Skill, dedication, vision and humility plus who can resist the aura of family unity and love. Thank you.
Joe, I thoroughly enjoyed this entire video. It was a ideal balance of technical technique, and well-placed humor, and genuine human warmth. (I can’t seem to stop smiling.). Thank you for the effort you put in to your videos.
So relaxing and satisfing to watch you fix something of such precision and beauty. Especially like you fixing the hands and face not just replacing them. Real talent there. Enjoyable narration!
Well Joe, that was a wonderful painstaking job and you restored this Seiko Presage to its former glory, the owner will appreciate your effort so much.... Greetings from Australia 👍
Futzing around with the dial was a dangerous game, Mate! I found it fascinating the way you applied car restoration logic to the problem of the damaged dial, and the results were far better than could have been expected. A lesson in not writing off the broken and damaged among us, I suppose. Or perhaps that some damage requires time, care, patience and outside the box thinking to address, but recovery is indeed possible. Or maybe it's just a cool watch returned to life from the midden heap. Your mileage may vary.
I used to watch other watch restoration channels until I found yours. Your attention to detail is incredible, your standard of workmanship is inspiring. I also enjoy your personality and wit ...and even your singing. Keep up the good work my friend 😁👍
That’s my dream watch, hard to see the damage when it was brand new. You did Seiko proud with this repair. A lifetime or two still remains to be shared for a watch of that quality.
Joe, is there anything you cannot do… watchmaker, musician, parent and everything else, as I’ve said before, your attention to detail is next level and I find your videos as a kind of therapeutic as to how I approach my daily work. I thank you for all of your expertise in your field and sharing it with all of us… In the words of my favourite Vulcan, “Live long and prosper”…..
Enjoyed the video. Having just got my automatic that my Mrs bought me before we were married 25 yrs ago. It had never been serviced and finally stoped keeping time. Now it’s back working as good as new after being serviced. This video made me think about how we need to except wear on the things we love and care for them to ensure they last.
Dear Nekkid Watchmaker, just to know, we love you dearly, your skill, your commentary, your children, did I mention your skill? PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU DO!
I received a Seiko 5 for Christmas when I was in high school. I hadn't had it on my wrist an hour and managed to gouge the crystal with my car's seatbelt leaving my grandparent's house. I was heartbroken but got over it and had the crystal replaced a few years later. By the looks of the case on this poor watch, it had already seen a rough and tumble life in the short time the young fellow had it! Great video and restoration!
My deepest respect for your work of wonderfull craftsmanship! Love what you do and work with. In todays crazy world it is allways good to see that there a people like you. Thank you.
For a virtually new watch, it was certainly a greasy, oily mess inside. After your expert touch, it is truly better than new! The dial keeps the owner from forgetting his worst day!
Again, great video. I know not a comparison but recentley had a wall clock stop ticking , cheap plasic movment I s'pose you'd call it a solid magnet escapment (?), your process gave me confidence to go in and clean the gears and oil the points and happy to say now back on the wall and not in the garbage. Thanks.
I recently discovered your videos by accident. They are fascinating, funny and soothing - a reminder that there are still good people on this floating rock of ours. I hope your apprentice didn't suffer too much with 'the runs'!
Fantastic, is great that your children get to experiment with music, and be involved with hands on stuff, Thanks for the humor, music and watch instruction. Motorbike fish week end to you !
Beautiful! I truly appreciate fine things but can't be trusted with them 😢 I bought a Seiko dive watch with the yellow dial. Loved it! To death😢 After dropping it the third time while putting it on it ceased to function. After consultation with an pert I was thrown out of the shop for being the heathen that I am. The cost to lovingly restore my wonderful watch exceeded the replacement cost. My wife insisted I buy another but fortunately I could accept the truth. I can only be trusted with a discount store digital 😢 Thanks for showing that wonderful watch the love it deserved!😊
A few battle scars? I think my brain is battle weary after watching you Joe. That was just beautiful. You never cease to amaze this lesser mortal with your genius. Thank you for a wonderfully soothing hour.
Beautiful forgotten and unloved .....no not me ....or you ! Another win for the forgotten and draw bound treasurers that deserved a second chance ....thank you
What a beautiful restoration!!!! The watch came out absolutely gorgeous. The "battle scars" only add to its beauty. As always, outstanding work. Where and when can I buy the Nekkid Watchmaker version of Motorbike Fish? Its sure to be a hit single!!!!!
With all the bad things that are going on in our world at the moment it’s great to be able to sit back and truly enjoy another of your totally absorbing videos - great skills and amusement from you Joe. Any plans to release ‘The Motorbike Fish’ song? Haha😂😂👍🏻
I just watched your video and I absolutely loved it! I found your presentation to be incredibly informative and engaging. You did a great job of breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms. I also appreciated the humor and personal anecdotes that you sprinkled throughout the video. It made the content more relatable and enjoyable. You're one of the few TH-camrs who I can consistently count on to deliver high-quality content. Keep up the great work! What an amazing transformation-! Almost unbelievable thats the original face and hands, even though some scratches remain the overall appearance is still like comparing pitch black to the mid day sun-! You turned that catastrophe into a restoration miracle, beautiful work-!!
Wonderful how you saved that beautiful Seiko Presage from becoming scrap. I bet its owner is over the moon, as was I after watching your excellent (and patient) restoration. Wishing you all the very best with many blessings, Wendi 🌻
A surprisingly complex movement, definitely not the standard three hander Seiko movement which are nice because of their simplicity hence, easy to fix and reliable. Servicing this watch definitely needs some experience. Thank you for showing us how-to whilst making it look so easy.
Lovely work. I enjoy your style. Your obvious technical prowess, eye for detail, sly humor and clever song lyrics are briliiant. Your ever helpful assistant and the domestic background noises are a testament to the joys of working at home. Keep up the good work (literally) and, God willing, we will see a lot more of it.

I love how well you treat your children. You do not treat them as distraction or annoyance from your videos.
What a pleasant Thursday evening surprise. Another great restoration. When it comes to fiddly, no one is better than you, Joe.
Thank you 🙏

Trouble definitely is a highlight to the videos. I wonder if there will be other motor bike fish appearance in future video
He probably did it for free. he is a millionaire by now. Sure he can do some pro bono work
A watch is for wearing as well - if it gets a clout it's heart breaking but they are designed to go on the wrist and we flail about from time to time

how the hel someone smash a watch in the first day????? nversmashed a watch in my life.
The unparalleled watch repair channel, when nekkid pops up, nothing else matters.
I had no idea Seiko made such a nice watch. Thanks for the close up shots, and play by play narration.
Have a look for Grand Seiko. You’ll be surprised on the quality, and the cost.
Seiko have a sub brand called Credor that is super luxury.
@@tomB-A Fully agree. Seiko build quality is superb - better than a couple of slightly more expensive Longines that I own.
@@tomB-Athen Lois up Credor Eichii 2.🤤

Nice to see you do a Seiko. I have Rolex dreams but a Seiko budget. My grandfather wore them and I've had one on my wrist for the last 2 decades
I will never again call myself a patient person after watching you straighten that first hand.

Car polish can be very fine grit. It can get lacquer to a perfect shine. The poly watch seems a bit aggressive.
The Emergency Surgeon did a fine job restoring this beautiful time piece back to life. And might I add, Jimi Hendrix is some fine guitar player.Tada..
