- (My camera man "messed up" and got distracted by the drone in the middle of the video, don't mind it.)This whistle blow was separate to the Railfan weekend, and was open to the public visiting Cass. However there were only about 5 main participants including myself during the event. This whistle blow featured more whistles then the RFW's whistle blow. From tiny 3 chime, to large gong-factory whistles.

It is a gong whistle. These types of whistles were used on factories, mills, and industrial applications. This one is supposedly from the C&O Ry Clifton Forge Shops.

I know this is a challenge but could you list all the whistles names with time stamps so we can know which ones they are? Mainly I’d like to know all the Southern Railway ones in there if there are any. Those longbell 3 chimes sound like Ps-4’s so I wanna know if there are any SOU Longbell 3 chimes in there

5 chime from Erie reminds me of the untuned 5 chime from CN 3254 disguised as DLW 1271
I love that Cass scenic has a bunch of whistles you can try out. I always wanted to blow a steam locomotive whistle. Always been my dream.
Have you ever considered purchasing one and bringing it to cass? Sometimes we gotta do things ourselves. I plan to bring my whistle to cass sometime in the next year or 2

My father actually owns this whistle, the audio from the camera gets very affected by the way these whistles blow because it’s so much energy, from a distance back it actually doesn’t sound too bad.

@@david245611 Correct! Southern Railway 5 inch Crosby. My father picked this whistle off of ebay a few years back. The whistle is stamped on the top "Bootie" Davis Greenville, SC which was a huge division point for the Southern.

Just because it may sound the same, doesn't mean it's the same whistle.
Its just a single chime whistle, probably a "hooter" from the N&W or C&O
@Random914 a Classic D&RGW Hooter, not many survive but they were on most of the older engines of the D&RGW Narrow Gauge Operations (I.e. C-16's K-27's and I believe the two C-21's. I'm unsure what the C-25 wore but if I had money to bet it would be a original D&RGW Hoot.)
