Woah!!!! SUPER HOT VIBRATO, love it!!!!!!!!!!
Now I'm a bagpiper. While tons of people like playing this song on the bagpipes, it sounds ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE on the pipes because of a built-in mechanical problem on the pipes. Let's take the key of A, the pipes have a scale from the G below the main A, up to the A an octave higher. So if you were to play that tune in the key of D, you can't hit that high B so you have to drop the B below, which makes it totally unrecognizable. Likewise if you play it in A, you have to raise the F-sharp and E (below the A) and it also makes it sound totally unrecognizable either!!!! YUCK!!! But, apparently Robert Burns himself wrote a more bagpipe-friendly melody which he used to write the actual song, no idea why the unpipeable melody has become associated with this song, but I really like the original melody that Burns himself wrote. Have you heard that melody?
