The htc 10 was so underappreciated. I own it. And I absolutely love it to death. I also own a m7. But the 10 is still sooo fast and speaker's and camera. And I used a galaxy s9 for 2 weeks gave it back. No ty. I can not seriously say enough about the 10.
@@bowtech1020 the reason the HTC 10 was so unappreciated was the fact the One M9 was such a failure, people scattered from HTC for awhile. It is incredible how far modern smartphones like S8 evolved, and you may not even notice it unless you try to use an old phone like this. I am replacing my HTC m7 for a new Galaxy S9.... so it is a noticeable upgrade? I am receiving it next week lol, cant wait.... Anyway I am very proud of my HTC :)
Im sat here, watching on my M7, had it since 2013, 6 screens, 4 cameras, 2 new main boards and a new case. If it wasnt for the fact its being made super obsolete due to software no longer supporting it, then id be keeping it for many more years, but alas, new phone on its way, see how long that lasts.....
software, yeah...and the hardware is super crap. of course its an iconic design and all but the internals are dogcrap by today's standards, huge bezels, very outdated SOC etc... its time to move on. you sure got your money's worth if you've used it for só many years.
I had an Htc One m7 until 2017 and it was the best phone i had ever had. Good materials, a great processor and a beautiful display. Sorry for the grammar, which might be uncorrect, but i am not english.
About battery life: I will show you a little trick: always try your battery to be between 40% and 90%, yeah this means you only use a "50% range" but believe me I researched a lot and this is the perfect range to optimize battery longevity. My battery is 5 years old and it lasts pretty much the same as the first day. I researched a lot because I was scared about the fact that you can't remove/replace the battery easily on this one. So.... well it worked for me!!!! And yeah it takes forever to charge this HTC battery but I think it is just designed to be like this.
you are absolutely correct sir! especially if you charge a LiIon Battery to 100% instead of 90% makes a real big deal in calendrical aging (lose of capacity) Also the cycles should be as small as possible for a longer battery life. Best State Of Charge for Lithium Battery is approx. 20-30%
It's amazing how on the XDA forum you can get Android Oreo for this phone, I think that if you try and flash a well optimised Nougat ROM to it, it would work actually pretty good. Only thing holding me from even trying to use it as a daily driver is the awful camera. My M7 has that problem with pink pictures like a lot of M7s did back then, it just makes it unusable. But other than that, I think that with a little bit of ROM tweaking it could make for a nice daily driver even today, its Snapdragon 600 and 2GB of RAM should be enough to run all the basic stuff. Sorry for commenting so much, I am just excited to see it here after I took it for a spin couple of days ago after some years
That's the android advantage. People love to yammer on about apple's 3.5 -4 years of support (though that's a lie since a lot of older phones suddenly "won't support" the newest OS due to forced spec cutoffs).... try an early 2013 Android with the Latest and greatest in 2018!!! Can't beat that!
The pink camera issue was a well known hardware issue, I got mine fixed after almost two years of use under warranty. Support definitely used to install a different camera, as it was a hardware defect of the camera HTC builts in the factories.
Still using my m7 with a Mophie case just for overall usage around the house. Also for a back up phone incase I lose mine. Still in mint condition..love it.
I am considering buying an older and/or used android device that has an IR blaster feature for as cheap as possible while still having the power to run the Anymote app smoothly. Would the HTC One M7 be a good choice?
Depending on the prices, many/most (all?) of Xiaomi's phones have IR blasters, and their IR app is vastly superior to whatever HTC included with the M7.
I still have mine and use it alongside the u11+. IMHO it is still a very good phone. Haven't had a problem with the phone aside the camera. I am still going to use it till it drops. PS got mine in 2013
Yay my first htc and I would probably never go back with other brands! Always solid phones from htc. I remember it was a toss up between Samsung and Sony flagships. Htc won hands down.
Use the smaller thinner cabled chargers they charge faster, the thick cables are slower. Ton of cheaper phones, what is better for $40? I did see HTC M8 goes for $40 used also on ebay. M9 is about $60, HTC 10 maybe $100
I came from a time when there was only one phone in the village... Not the worst phone I ever bought and it's still working a treat.. Praise generously, criticise cautiously..
This was my last ever HTC device. I'll never forget having to live for 2 years with a camera that was unusable due to the purple tint. So sad as HTC was my go-to device back in the Windows Mobile days.
HTC replased the camera for free bacause the first camera they used did not stand the heat. The new camera is ok and from another brand, no purple tint.
I miss my blue M7, never had one that had better audio, the rest of the phones I've had just have crappy little speakers on the back or bottom; I also really liked blink feed tbh.
I'm still rocking the m7. It's got some dings and scratches on the coating, but the gorilla glass is still pristine - no screen protector. Raw dogging it for almost 5 years now.
I'm using this right now since its my backup phone and I broke my main. This phone is a beast when it comes to durability. I have dropped it off a roof a few times
I just fixed up my old (red) m7 for my roommate who wrecked her phone and is broke. I missed that thing so much-but not Sprint. I've rooted and romed it too (you can even get Oreo that way) Only major bummer is the lack of a SD card slot.
Haha, I asked if you could do a HTC video on your previous video and I came home from work to see this! Im still using the M7 as my spotify/youtube device because boomsound.
i loved my m7. But i had to had my fixed 4 times in 2 years. HTC even replaced my handset 3 times. But if they made a 2020 version in the same body, I would buy it in a second
Hi everyone, I saw this phone on eBay here in the UK for £21.99… I saw another listing for £26.90.? Are these phones fake or is the pricetag on this phone like that nowadays? Please let me know because I need a phone ASAP.
What about me? I need a smartphone(rather the cheaper as possible) but good cause i use these social medias like whatsapp, youtube and instagram, does it worth for me?
I still have this phone and mod it up have Oreo running but it doesn’t work that well at least the rom I used getting ready to try Nougat on it for shiiizzzy and giggles i thinks it’s amazing how smooth it still runs 5 years later
Hmm, I'm debating on getting one of these. There's a local store that got it for $89 Canadian, I'm looking for something with 32GB or more of storage and a 1080p or higher resolution for $90 Canadian maximum to replace a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime that I've been using since my LG G3 bit the dust. Edit: if I were to spend a extra $30 (+ tax diffrence), the M8 or LG G4 is available for $119. From private sellers (no tax) on my local classifieds (Kijiji) there's a Huawei Nexus 6P 32GB listed for $120, a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with cracks & scratches but apparently works perfect listed for $100, a Galaxy S4 (don't list storage size) with premium screen protector for $100 Firm, 2 Samsungs with no model or really any details posted, 1 is $90 the other is $120 and a LG with no model or details listed for $120, also a Motorola Moto X Play for $120, but I'm not sure if it's the 16GB or 32GB model.
I got one htc m7 like a week ago and i'm so disappointed.mine is used and it is in a bad shape. It heats like hell. You can't even hold it when you are gaming because it gets unbelievably hot you could fry an egg on it . I downloaded pubg , it works but i get server errors like every 10 minutes.. it is so frustrating and what more frustrating is i couldn't get an original htc charger. So i bought a fast charger 4.1a but still it takes between 4.5-5 hours to charge the phone from 15% to 100%. And i'm getting a warning that states i should use htc original charger for fast charging. The battery barely last 2 hours of continuous usage. I regret buying this phone.
I love the radio function. Thats the main reason I bought it. Now phones are made for there advertisements plat form bullshit then towards enjoyment of purchaser's personal use..
Hm, that's weird, I played Real Racing 3 just fine a year ago, and I can still install it now. Glad this great phone from 2013 is still performing, but I am looking for a new phone, just haven't really found one that that has that sort of innovation feel the HTC One did when it released 5 years ago.
It's not that the phone can't play it, it can. The app developer dropped support for older versions of Android. So if you try to install it from the Play Store it won't let you. A lot of app developers do this. However, if you manage to get an APK with a previous version of the App and side load it, it will run just fine unless the app developer has forced required updates in order to run (some app developers do this and some don't).

and what the hell thsi shit phone dropped its price to 40$. Then this is worth for sure. I am a heavy user and I am happy with it. I have some games like gta sa pubg and many other. I have no issue in charging mine charges to 60 in just hour if switched off. If any one gets this brand new for 40$ than this is perfect. By the way I bought this phone years ago for 600$ right my my other phone is not working properly so I am using this
Have this phone right now it competes with a Samsung Galaxy s4 I really don't recommend this phone if it's over 90$ and let me warn you never put this phone near water
Haha no way im watching this video on my old m7!

The HTC Bolt also has an amazing design
Htc should reuse the old M7 awesome design!!! But with more modern 18:9 display it would be Stellar!
Yes. Good idea like iPhone using some ip5 're do again
Still looks like it came out this year, it's so gorgeous
HTC will rise again if they relaunch m7 with latest internal upgrades!! In the exact same body! (May be scale up a little)
