Hogue OTF Knife FAILED Me!

I bought this knife with high hopes, and my expectations were met for many months. Unfortunately it failed in a way I did not expect. This is not to bash Hogue, they make exceptional products. This is intended to be informative for people who may rely on a knife in a more serious situation.

This will happen on every otf if dinged the same way to block the blade. It did not fail you, you failed it. Just take a small file and carefully remove the edge of the ding and it will fire like new. And don't ding it on the opening. If you ding a liner hard enough it can block a normal folding knife from opening or closing in a similar way. If you ding your AR 15 in some spot it will fail too, same with AK 74 and many other systems. I have and use a lot of OTF knives and if you care for them they will care for you, like everything.

No offense, but I gotta say that you dropped and damaged the knife.It didn't fail you, you failed it.

hogue is garbage. had an otf and a side auto both fail on me

Pains me to say this but I agree, the thing broke again, won't open too tight. Back to a Gerber.
