So, originally I ranted for like 20 minutes. I cut out a lot cause I thought it'd get boring, but if I didn't make something clear I apologize. I don't usually do off the cuff videos, and you can probably tell why.
Okay. But you do know that it was supposed to be Pluto at first right? This entire movie is like insane fanfiction. Its abit unfair to hold the writers accountable for what Disney did probably before they were even born.
Thank you for shouting out my documentary. It was a horrible thing chip and dale and I'm glad more people became aware of the issue. kind of a silver lining!
I feel that Disney has gotten so used to poking fun at itself that it sort of forgets why these things were problems in the first place. You know how, if you keep doing the same thing so frivolously, it ends up getting more and more half-hearted? Well, Disney is at the point where they consider the mere pointing out of something bad they did in the past counts as proper repentance...
Look at the MCU movies. Every serious moment is followed by a joke. Or movies like Enchanted or the princess scenes in Wreck It Ralph. Disney is deeply entrenched in "irony" and self-deprecating humor.
Sad part is the target audience, which are the little kids won't see this as offensive because they don't know who Bobby is due to Disney trying to erase him from existence. We need to call Disney out so they acknowledge their blunder and apologize.
Yes, exactly this. What Disney did to Bobby Driscoll and then years later, poking fun at him in a movie, is beyond disgusting. There’s no way they’re going to apologize for this, because expecting Disney to care at this rate is like expecting a bear not to crap in the woods.
Truly disgusting and unaceptable. I may not know who this Guy is. Seeing his career and what happened to him makes me so sad. Even myself, I've always wanted to be an actor working with Disney. But when you see what's going on Social Media and news about the Company. That's disturbing Never mock someone who had a bad life. But respect him but also acknoledge
There are stories from his friends and co-stars readily available which talk about the abuse Bobby Driscoll suffered, not only from his parents, but from the "Golden Childing" Disney put upon Driscoll from the moment they contracted him. For example Ruth Warrick, who played Bobby's mother in Song of The South, mentioned being very disgusted by a Disney Executive giving a "Wet, sloppy" lingering kiss to Bobby on the mouth! Burl Ives, who played his uncle in So Dear To My Heart when asked if Disney's attention on Driscoll was excessive replied: “Excessive-I have another word for it.” So many more red flags, I've readily thought there’s more to his firing than just acne, Disney's covered up something dark. Driscoll himself apparently during his lifetime went to a publisher at Arbor House to try and get a book published about his abuse at Disney, which they were scared to publish incase it was untrue, even back in the sixties Disney were feared. Not to mention Driscoll had children, Disney has never reached out publicly to apologise to them, help find their father’s remains for a proper burial, or offer a legend status for their father. They just want to pretend Bobby never existed, despite the profit they still gather from his work, it’s not just a bad look, it's foul on so many levels. As someone who has been disgusted for years, I'm very glad so many have noticed Disney's continuing, willing ignorance about this man, child abuse and drug abuse is not a source of mirth.
Edit: Oh gosh I just saw your twitter post, I had no idea it was your tumblr post of quotes I was sourcing from! I'm so glad for it, it needs to be repeated all over the place.
@@SerenaGx Absolutely. My Dad was a fan of Bobby Driscoll, growing up in the 50s, as he is a big fan of both the book of Treasure Island and Disney's version, Bobby was and still is Jim Hawkins for him. That movie was a staple for me growing up as well, and Peter Pan, so years later when doing film studies learning what happened to Bobby Driscoll was hard knowledge for both me and my Dad. Like I said I'm glad Bobby's story is getting more traction, I really do wish it was for better reasons, like Disney apologising, a proper internment of his remains, and his story finally fully being told as openly as would be possible to the world.
Another sad note on Bobby Driscoll: his body cannot be moved from the Potters field where he was buried because the records of his location were burned in a fire.💔😢 RIP, Bobby, you are still loved💕 It’s unforgivable what Disney did.
Absolutely agreed, I watched your video on the dark side of Hollywood child stars a few times. I actually saw the new "Chip and Dale" movie and aside from being a nostalgic trip, which was fine I did find myself shaking my head at the useless and hurtful hit job they did on Bobby Driscoll, had to explain to a friend of mine who I watched the film with that "underneath the ha ha is a really jacked up and tragic story." I absolutely wish Disney would face a reckoning over metaphorically dancing on this poor kid's grave. It felt like they were actually gloating that they contributed to killing him. Bobby would be 85 today if he were alive and allowed to live a life of fullness. Disney did not allow that and I really wish somebody would take them to task for it.
Thank you for making this video. I refuse to see the Chip and Dale movie based on this alone. Imagine being responsible for someone dying and being penniless at 31 and turning right around years later and making FUN OF IT. Gross af Disney.
Disney is so full of themselves. They're saying plainly "we can be this insensitive and you idiots will still watch our movies and go to our parks. We can do anything we want so haha"
Honestly, I didn't love the movie, but it was okay in places. However, I thought it would have been a lot better if they'd made up their own villain for the story. The most off putting thing about the movie was the whole Peter Pan thing, and I didn't even know the history of how this poor kid suffered. If 'Who Framed Rodger Rabbit' was an example of how to do a movie like this well, then 'Chip and Dale' was an example of how to do this type of movie wrong.
And they were the ones who did him wrong, yet they act like they’re somehow the victims! I’m a Disney fan but the company’s apathy towards its employees always astounds me.
what’s funny is like. Bobby Driscal’s life was shit before they fired him so it’s stupid like they’re treating it like “oh his entire life sucked bc we fired him” and then painting him as a villain I fucking hate disney
Damn, the Disney corporation is somewhat analogous to the Pan from the novel. Appearing youthful (despite being almost 100 years old now), surrounding itself with youthful talent (i.e. the Lost Boys), and thinning them out when they get too old. The difference is, Pan wasn't evil, just childish, while Disney is cold. For every good thing they've done, there's a dozen questionable actions on their part.
And just when you think this isn't true, go read about how they popularized the idea that lemmings are suicidal and run off cliffs en masse. They don't, unless they're being chucked off a cliff by the filming crew, apparently.
i just watched your other video on hollywood child abuse and came cross this follow up and im genuinely disgusted. thats just irredeemably low. thanks for shedding light on this
They buried him in Potter’s Field in NYC. Then there was a fire that destroyed most of the burial records so his remains are impossible to locate. Over a million people buried on Hart Island. God knows where he is!
I liked the movie, but the Peter Pan thing bothered me. It’s exactly the kind of gag someone could probably get away with if they’re *not* Disney. Someone like South Park could have landed it, because it would have been obvious their target was Disney and not Bobby himself. Maybe do a fourth-wall breaking aside about “you should see what happened to the REAL guy” before moving on, y’know? But when *Disney* makes that joke, I have to question their intentions. Because, like you said, it’s a tired old “Peter Pan grows up” joke at its core, so you could possibly excuse that joke made by, like, one person who didn’t happen know the tragic backstory. You cannot excuse a team of 1000+ artists who all *work* for the guilty company, because there’s no way *someone* didn’t know. Maybe they can use the proceeds from Chip n’ Dale to buy the guy a friggin’ headstone, ya know?
This is the same Disney who denied a father a Spiderman tombstone for his son who passed away. Do you think they would get a tombstone for this child actor? I'm sorry, but that's what Disney did.
I agree so much with this comment! I was actually talking about this with my boyfriend the other day, and he said "Yea it's messed up, but this isn't the same Disney that kicked him out, those were people in the past Disney. It's not like the people who work there now fired him". Man, I wish I could've brought up the point of how (or who) the "joke" could've been used. It's so much worse that it was used by Disney. If it was South Park or Family Guy, it would most likely be a critique or "shots fired" at Disney for how their child stars turn out, and nobody would pay any mind because it's South Park and/or Family Guy, they're laughing at and critiquing these people just like we are. But with this "joke" being used by Disney themselves, it's more like a slap in the face to Driscoll.
This is why me and my friends are not going to watch this movie. It's disgusting and horrible by disney to do such a thing against a star who suffered and died tragically.
One thing I’m wondering is why Disney hasn’t made any comments, they’re letting people say “well, they didn’t know”. If I was on PR, I’d be trying to do damage control.
Wow, I had heard some inklings about self-referential shit in bad taste from Disney, but I had no idea it was basically the plot of a movie. This is fucking disgusting. I loved Bobby Driscoll as Peter Pan and Jim when I was little and wanted to see more of his films, I remember looking him up on the internet when I was like 12 and being so heartbroken to find out how sad his life was. It was shocking to me then how little I could find celebrating him and it still depresses me now. For Disney to exploit someone so blatantly, never do anything to even pretend to make amends or apologise for it, and then try to defang their own horrible past by turning it into a joke is appalling. And people continue to defend them. People were saying his contract was up so why was he their problem, should they have gone out of their way to employ him, society was shitty in general in 1950s so don't talk about Disney's specific misdeeds, etc. Infuriating. I will never understand people going to bat for one of the biggest, baddest corporations going, especially in this day and age. They don't even make good art any more! What's there to defend!
Wow; when I saw the trailer, it seemed a really cynical project made by people who thought they were above the material. But now that you inform me of the actual events to which this depiction of Peter Pan alludes, it's so much worse.
To be COMPLETELY honest, when I saw Peter Pan in the trailer for this film, I seriously was stunned and horrified when looking into Bobby's life after Disney. As such, this is why I'm not planning on seeing this piece of shit movie - because they could've used another character instead of Peter Pan, like Pluto or Charlie Brown!
Yeah, I was very shocked when the movie portrayed Peter Pan and how strangely his backstory fit Bobby's too well. I myself enjoyed the movie for what it was, given the premise, it had good ideas, the cell-shading was okay but THIS was a no no. I wrote a treatment and outline for a movie idea I had loosely based on Bobby's life years ago, did tons of research, watched as many of his films and television appearances; it was a fun project so seeing Disney do this even out of context is absolutely disgusting and I'm sure at the very least, someone on the team knew. Bobby never had a gold star, rejected from the Disney family and died young, drugged out, homeless and forgotten. Great job house of mouse.....
Damn. I thought the movie was okay, it had some funny bits here and there. But I knew nothing of this Bobby Driscoll story so that's really fucked up. Make him the villain in the first place is pretty fucked, but it could've worked if it served as actual commentary and they made him a sympathetic villain that is redeemed and validated at the end and we learn the true villain is the system that made him the way he was, that would've been good writing.
i knew there was something immediately off putting about that character. thank you for sharing your opinion and refreshing the history with us. it’s easy to forget about one absolutely horrible thing a corporation does when it’s a daily occurrence for them to do absolutely horrible inhumane things. as far as i can tell, that entire joke exists only for the entertainment of disney execs and nobody else.
Disney has history of disrespecting their talent or people who have contributed to their billions. I just figured it was pretty typical for most conglomerates/corporations "dog-eat-dog."
Even the voice of Peter Pan in the Chip and Dale movie was wrong, I mean Will Arnett is an amazing actor don’t get me wrong, but there was absolute no need for him here!
The writing in this movie is terrible this is supposed to be the same universe as who framed Roger rabbit the writers did a terrible job because they broke a rule that was established in who framed Roger rabbit that rule being toons don’t age. If they did Mickey Mouse Felix the cat and Minnie more characters would be dead
That makes it even worse… that explicitly CONFIRMS that they were specifically targeting Bobby. I didn’t even know this shit was in the same universe as WFRR. Disney is fr despicable.
Bobby Driscoll won a Youth Oscar in the 40s and was forgotten. Kathryn Beaumont (the model for Alice in Wonderland) is the girl in a lot of these photos and she is still with us!
Just tragic the way they treated child actors like Bobby Driscoll and Judy Garland (I mean it's still pretty bad in Hollywood for kids for alot of reasons). Very messed up!
MJTanner brought me to the attention about Bobby Driscoll before the film was released and thought Disney couldn't go lower....then the news about the CGI Stan lee came out and I'm not even surprised anymore
Yet ANOTHER a fucking reason to despise Disney. I seriously don’t care how many good films they’ve made, because they’ve always been made off of the backs of others that Disney thinks can be easily discarded. Devils never apologize for the shit they do.
I agree and noticed the same correlation between the child star and villain. They could have done a fictional villain story based on Fat Cat from Rescue Rangers. Similar to other villain franchises, like Maleficent and Cruella.
I watched it the night it dropped, and not Oscar worthy, but I thought it was fun. However, I had wondered if anyone else had caught the fact that they basically dragged Bobby Driscoll with the Peter Pan character and backstory. I think a lot of people are unaware of his story for the most part, certainly I had to explain it to my partner who had no clue. I mean, it it is possible it wasn't intentional, and just lazy storytelling about the boy who grew up. Hard to say....but I agree. Knowing about Bobby, it did seem really distatsteful.
Thank you for speaking up. Your observations seem to have a grain of truth: For anyone who knows the story, Bobby was horribly abused and engaged in questionable behavior, what we would call out as "grooming" A child today. I have a theory of my own about why Bobby's name has been erased and it's what makes this depiction even more sickening than anyone realizes. This depiction is supposed to be some attempt by Disney to evoke some sort of woke attitude about how it had treated stars in the past, but truth be told, and judging by the numerous TH-cam videos on this topic, Disney stars are still being subjected to abuse to this day. What makes this depiction truly sickening and makes me want to vomit is that far from evoking a woke attitude about abuse or even just an attitude of sorry we own up to our mistakes and strive to do better, it seems like in the end what it really does is victim shame and victim blame Bobby for what happened after he was thrown away, basically like garbage. I honestly think acne had nothing to do with it...sounds to me, and there are videos on this too, the whole Disney Organization is mired in the culture of sexual abuse in all aspects of it's business and absolutely no one is talking about it! It seems to me, as I said before that Bobby was being groomed in some sick way and that his termination came because he wasn't some cute, easily malleable little kid anymore. Can anyone say pedophellia?!? Plus, if his parents were abusive ogres using him as a meal ticket as has been suggested, then that in and of itself would make Disney look very bad in the eyes of the public as they still to this day are making money off him. I am also appaled and disturbed because we all know there are Disney stars in the modern era who are still being abused and victimized and yet nothing is being done, so this attempt at wokeness screams to me that this pathetic company hasn't learned its lesson.
That was seriously some bullshit. I think most of the Disney meta-commentary in their movies is just kind of cringey and played out (it was only cute in Enchanted, because it was more of an affectionate thing), but this is just plain evil. Like they're actively mocking people who know about all the really bad shit the company does, like "yeah, we might have ruined this kid's life, but what are you gonna do about it? We own the world! We're too big to fail! Suck on that, ya bleeding-hearts!" It's really...I feel nauseated just writing this,
This is strange… it’s like the irony of what ugly sonic said but more cruel, “you can’t hurt me if I’m in on the joke”… I say more cruel bc it’s coming from the company…
I didn’t know anything about the voice actor. 🙄 I was already aware that Disney is one of hundreds of companies full of horrible and ignorant people though… but dang… they really take the cake for this one. Disrespectful and heartbreaking
That was on purpose! :) They based a lot of the Disney characters on the voice-actors who played them back then and etc, going so far as them acting in character for reference! :)
@@princesspeachfan100 But why Peter Pan? How about Drizella from the Cinderella movies, at least that would make sense, because she is the only daughter of Lady Tremaine who doesn’t have a man in her life! Cinderella has Prince Henry, and Anastasia has the baker! Being single and living at home with her mother all her life would be the perfect backstory for Drizella!
It's hard to believe, but Disney has really hit a new low with this. Not only have they lost all creativity and do rather make countless reboots of their old franchises instead of developing new ideas and are way too obsessed with their heritage and nostalgia, but now they also show so much disgusting disrespect towards their old material and treat it as a joke. There's a right and a wrong way for making self-referential, self-ironic jokes, and this is just the wrong kind of wrong. And what shocks and disgusts me even more is that the critics still like it (It has 80% on RT!).
That's what I'm leaning towards also, Hollywood in the olden days treated kid actors like sh!t, not just Disney. And who would have a better vendetta than someone who was supposed to never grow up, who got fired for growing up.
@@RustyCrowe Yeah. Plus this feels like a passion project by a bunch of young irreverent writers who somehow got the rights to all these characters. Its not some corporate and safe Disneyfilm. Its a rude and hilariously disrespectful movie and for what It is I like it. Edit: also the villain was at first supposed to be Pluto. I think that's a pretty important detail.
They could have had Pluto as the antagonist, or Bonkers, or Shunkums and Meat with the former as a nod to the classic shorts for the former or the latter two as a nod to the Disney Afternoon. Hell they could of had a knock-off Peter Pan as the villain and have the Rescue Rangers save the original Peter Pan! Such poor taste in designing a villain.
I think that the writers who wrote Peter Pan's backstory was trying to make Disney remember the actor who played Peter pan. But the studio told them to make him into a villain. I wouldn't say they disrespected him more like they were trying to get more people to know about it. But see that's the problem today when u try to do a good thing and spread awareness to it people would yell out "it's woke" or "I just want a break from the real world" and it's sad
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 well that's new tbh I thought Peter Pan was just the embodiment of a pedophile. Take kids away from their home, bringing them to a magical place, not wanting them to go home
@@shadow-gr4iw On the Book, he indeed kidnapped children and brought them to Nerverland. If the lost boys grow up, Peter Pan would not hesitate to kill them off. The kids wanted to go home
I thought it was strange how they aged Peter Pan because how you going to explain 2002 returns to neverland. They going used old voice actor/model tragic story. Yes they will do that, just like did with snow white and many others. Just wonder if writers knew about it.
Bobby Driscoll was predated by Walt Disney as a pre pubescent boy. This was witness by and commented on by several Hollywood Stars including Jane Wyman who stated emphatically" that this needed to be investigated and let the chips fall where they may". Disney is a sick company and always has been.
Yes, it makes me mad how badly they abused him. For those that haven't seen it, Bobby is on her video at about 30:30 it'll explain all you need to know. th-cam.com/video/AFRm-h3qLk0/w-d-xo.html
Personally, I don't 100% believe that. It was always Disney's official explanation, but like you said makeup exists, and also Bobby was already doing mostly voice over at this time anyways.
I've known about this for a while and you are 💯 %.absolutely right about everything, sad and sickening what they did to Bobby, i never watch Disney and I never will, nothing but a bunch of anti white racists...
Bobby was a nice person who didn't deserve to be abadoned by the Disney Company just because he was grown-up, and now they are probably insulting him in this movie. BOBBY WAS A REALLY NICE PERSON, WHY, JUST WHY!!!??????????
I don't understand how this happened, or was allowed to happen. There's no way in HELL the writers didn't know Bobbys story. I know the director of the movie claimed that, but that's just 100% an absolute lie, cause....of course they knew the story, and of course he knew the story as well. Genuinely flabbergasted over this piece of medias existence at all lol. RIP Bobby Driscoll
What makes this whole situation so much worse is adult stars saw what was happening to Bobby and called it abuse but wouldn't speak up because it would cost them their jobs. He was just a kid for crimeneys sake! How do you see the grooming and the bruises and not speak up?!! Is it any wonder he ended up addicted to drugs?
Recently saw it on a lark and I actually liked the movie for the most part, and I am not a big fan of Disney. But I was stunned when they made Peter Pan the villain and gave him that specific backstory because I immediately thought of Bobby Driscoll and that was extremely tasteless if it was intentional. I'm glad to see some people noticed that
Either they intentionally did it or the writers did zero basic research -- evidence of that in other places, too. But "Let's Do Who Framed Roger Rabbit But Soulless" is still not something to aim for and be proud of. But it's still evidence they weren't doing their job. Gross on all levels.
I am quoting Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park about the writers of Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers the movie who used Bobby Driscoll’s life after Disney for Peter Pan’s life story! They read what others have done, and they took the next step. They didn’t earn the knowledge for themselves, so they don’t take any responsibility for it. They stood on the shoulders of geniuses, to accomplish something as fast as they could, and before they even knew it, they had, they patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunch box, and now they’re selling it, they wanna sell it, well!
I think they should made a new character for the villain who want to be an actor but failed and turned into an reviewer who write bad reviews and was the reason chip and dale spilt
ah, I was very much wondering what your thoughts would be on this depiction of the character after I recently saw your video where you talked about him. I've yet to see the movie, but it doesn't sound very promising.
This has to be from the disgruntled writers and animators, who else would commentate on Hollywood? How in the world did the Disney executives not catch this? I want to believe the writers intentionally made connections to show how awful Disney truly is much like how the Pixar writers made parallels to the "Warm figure that's only there to help our protagonists only to show how much of a monster he is" and John Lasseter, but the way they did it was not executed well and Disney is still profiting off of it. They had to know but didn't care, which is worse and disgusting of them.
Unpopular Opinion: "Rescue Rangers" is Disney's "F*ck off!" to the Splash Mountain fans as Bobby Driscoll was also in "Song of the South", the movie Splash Mountain was based on.
@@SerenaGx Ahh right, it’s a shame nobody’s really written a book specifically about him. I know he wanted that to happen not long before he died. Thanks for the reply and info
The thing that really stinks about this is that originally Peter wasn’t even supposed to be the villian for this but they were going to do Charlie Brown or Pluto… (Apparently they couldn’t get all the rights to Charlie or something and Pluto didn’t do good with test audiences), But NO… Out of all things they couldn’t chose any other character and had to choose Peter out of nowhere to be this ugly nobody being so out of character on top of disrespecting his original voice actor… 😔 There is no way that “thing” is Bobby’s Peter… Isn’t Peter supposed to be young and immortal? And Toons don’t age, so aging this Peter where all the other original Toons don’t makes 0 sense… They don’t even explain WHY the character turned out that way, he just shows up out of nowhere that way and is suddenly evil for some reason… They couldn’t just leave him alone, they had to make him age like an entirely different character, like an imposter… This whole thing wouldn’t of been a issue if they didn’t confirm it was Bobby’s original Peter and just an imposter…. They could’ve chose any other character but had to choose him out of all things to mess up his whole character where it makes 0 sense… You know they only did this to spit on Bobby because they had nothing better to do…😔 Poor Bobby… 😔 Not cool Disney… NOT cool… You threw him under the bus back then and now screwed up the entire character of Peter just to make in fun of him throwing him under the bus even more? Ugh.
Honestly half the shit disney has done doesn't surprise me anymore ,recently a animated show on disney called the owl house and disney cut a full season 3 instead we are getting 3 forty minute special why? Cause it didn't fit the disney brand
I mean it's obvious to me that they did so but it's also made by the guys who did that SNL parody group or whatever they are. I shall say I disagree with the framing of ugly animation but then again my little biased as I do like animation but yeah the cell shading was not good on a lot of parts and there were some very clear moments where they had the head of an animated character on a human body!
Do you know of the TH-camrs "Crows of Judgment" and/or "Toy Bounty Hunters"? They did videos about how Bob Kane tried to erase Bill Finger's contributions to creating Batman; and they interviewed a relative of Bill Finger. Do you think they might be interested in talking with you about this "screw you" to Bobby Driscoll?
I saw the movie when it came out on Disney plus. I already seen the trailer beforehand. I remember twitter speculatied it wasn’t the real Peter Pan before the movie officially released. Disney is very wrong for doing this. Very disrespectful. I read somewhere on a article about the original villain for the movie. Apparently pluto was the original villain for the movie. It makes sense since chip & dale was messing him with all those cartoon shorts. Also there’s a early idea to have Charlie Brown being the villain but they couldn’t get the rights to the character. The movie could have been way better without the elephant in the room. Considering the Peter Pan joke about him growing up I am not surprised.
Kinda liked it but kinda hate it. Wasn't outstanding but had funny moments but didn't like the bobby driscoll referance that wasn't funny that was horrible and disgusting.
Yeah, this basically ruins the movie for me! Not that I was a big fan of this film even before I found out, but the fact that they spat on the grave of someone they basically killed is horrible
not only disney disrespects bobby but disney stole someone's fan art of sora some fans or art experts saw sora's hair in the movie and they claim it's fan art they assume disney stole someone's fan art without a consent. fist disney is very rude to the "real" peter pan and now stealing some fan artists' artwork on deviantart. disney couldn't at least just used the nomura artwork, but no. they instead go to google and download some of the fan arts of sora without any permission to the original fan artist and then put it in the film. shame on you disney. i am so so disgusted and felt a shame because instantly regretted, because i watched chip n dale movie then i found out about this after i watch it.
How do you know if this wasn’t Seth Rogans idea, to open up more eyes to topic? Maybe he even got some backlash from Disney for doing it. Maybe he might have gone a little more disrespectful with it so Disney wouldn’t think twice about it.

RIP Bobby Driscoll (1937-1968).
Burl Ives, who played his uncle in So Dear To My Heart when asked if Disney's attention on Driscoll was excessive replied: “Excessive-I have another word for it.”
So many more red flags, I've readily thought there’s more to his firing than just acne, Disney's covered up something dark.
Sloppy kiss?
It's called "Depression". He needed help
Another sad note on Bobby Driscoll: his body cannot be moved from the Potters field where he was buried because the records of his location were burned in a fire.💔😢 RIP, Bobby, you are still loved💕 It’s unforgivable what Disney did.
😢 that's absolutely awful. I wondered why he wasn't moved that's devastating. I thought maybe it was an estranged situation with his family.
His body could not be moved even if they had the records. He was buried in a mass grave & the soil is turned on occasion.
How interesting 🤔 that the records just got burned like WHAT?!
Imagine you were related to the voice actor of peter pan
And years later the same company makes fun of how your relative met their demise
It’s like if an official film company in Germany made a villain in the likeness of Anne Frank.
That's metal.
Thank you for making this video. I refuse to see the Chip and Dale movie based on this alone. Imagine being responsible for someone dying and being penniless at 31 and turning right around years later and making FUN OF IT. Gross af Disney.
This is far beyond disgusting & should not be allowed. I'm shocked this has happened, especially something aimed at families.
In other words, Disney said Screw You to Bobby. I can't believe they still hold a grudge against him.
And they were the ones who did him wrong, yet they act like they’re somehow the victims! I’m a Disney fan but the company’s apathy towards its employees always astounds me.
From Howard Hughes to Bob Iger
@@SlashinatorZnow to look into those too.
Disney is pure evil for what they did to this poor guy.
what’s funny is like.
I thought the movie was cool I had no idea that this happened to him I feel terribly sorry for the poor bloke
Super same
Imagine getting fired for acne, Disney are low.
@@danninmatthews5640 No, I don’t really think Disney would bother with actually buying the guy a headstone. That was dark humor.
Omg I know! The people defending it are so annoying and also, his contract was not up! In fact, it had just been renewed! Disney broke the contract!
Kinda shows how morally bankrupt Disney is
Disney is gone, the magic is gone.
Wow; when I saw the trailer, it seemed a really cynical project made by people who thought they were above the material. But now that you inform me of the actual events to which this depiction of Peter Pan alludes, it's so much worse.
Disney treat people so bad, we should feel sorry for people, and we should give Disney a hard lesson for its bad behaviours.
He was such a good looking and talented lad, so sad the way things turned out for him 🥺 R.I.P Bobby 💔 xxxx
just discovered your videos today and I'm really enjoying them!

Yet ANOTHER a fucking reason to despise Disney. I seriously don’t care how many good films they’ve made, because they’ve always been made off of the backs of others that Disney thinks can be easily discarded.
Devils never apologize for the shit they do.
They're evil!
They are demonic entities.
I agree and noticed the same correlation between the child star and villain. They could have done a fictional villain story based on Fat Cat from Rescue Rangers. Similar to other villain franchises, like Maleficent and Cruella.
He won a special child Oscar. Disney has been evil for so long. Maybe from before the beginning.
I think they kind of already spit on Ashman's grave with the live-action Beauty and the Beast.
That might be worth a video essay of its own.
I didn’t know anything about the voice actor. 🙄 I was already aware that Disney is one of hundreds of companies full of horrible and ignorant people though… but dang… they really take the cake for this one. Disrespectful and heartbreaking
And yes, the original 1953’s Peter Pan actually did look like Bobby Driscoll!
@@fireflyparker1584 I know, that’s what I’m saying, they shouldn’t have used him…
Jeff Goldblum’s line is also about the writers who actually used the original 1953’s Peter Pan!
Good commentary and great shirt
Im not even sure the writers were all that aware of it.
*SOMEONE* KNEW.
they have no respect
They could have had Pluto as the antagonist, or Bonkers, or Shunkums and Meat with the former as a nod to the classic shorts for the former or the latter two as a nod to the Disney Afternoon. Hell they could of had a knock-off Peter Pan as the villain and have the Rescue Rangers save the original Peter Pan! Such poor taste in designing a villain.
There was leaks that actually had Pluto as the antagonist
This is why I hate Disney. This controversial sh!t pisses me off.
Ok the Chip and Dale is pretty cool but when I heard why is Peter Pan is the bad guy, it really broke my heart. 😢😢😢😢
What other bright ideas does Disney have? How about we bring back the Genie, except this time he has depression? I mean, that’s meta, right?
Serena upload? Real shit.

Bobby Driscoll was predated by Walt Disney as a pre pubescent boy. This was witness by and commented on by several Hollywood Stars including Jane Wyman who stated emphatically" that this needed to be investigated and let the chips fall where they may". Disney is a sick company and always has been.

He got fired for having bad skin?Dam he didn't have makeup? And how did it make a difference?
Personally, I don't 100% believe that. It was always Disney's official explanation, but like you said makeup exists, and also Bobby was already doing mostly voice over at this time anyways.
Disney i am sure is more twisted then we can imagine
I'm glad to see some people noticed that
1 of the reasons why this shit movie DONT deserve the Emmy & that Disney are honestly an evil company!
I just watched the C&D movie, and yes it did come off as meta commentary - in the this case reboots/sequel shows.
Get to the point, dear.
I think they should made a new character for the villain who want to be an actor but failed and turned into an reviewer who write bad reviews and was the reason chip and dale spilt
Oh god. This is the same company that supports LGBT when it gives them money.
Wow and this is before Disney himself died so it's possible he was aware and let it happen.
ah, I was very much wondering what your thoughts would be on this depiction of the character after I recently saw your video where you talked about him. I've yet to see the movie, but it doesn't sound very promising.
What a bunch of lunatics. They should know better when to treat Bobby with such respect and all. Poor Bobby, may you rest in peace

The thing that really stinks about this is that originally Peter wasn’t even supposed to be the villian for this but they were going to do Charlie Brown or Pluto… (Apparently they couldn’t get all the rights to Charlie or something and Pluto didn’t do good with test audiences), But NO…
Out of all things they couldn’t chose any other character and had to choose Peter out of nowhere to be this ugly nobody being so out of character on top of disrespecting his original voice actor… 😔 There is no way that “thing” is Bobby’s Peter… Isn’t Peter supposed to be young and immortal? And Toons don’t age, so aging this Peter where all the other original Toons don’t makes 0 sense… They don’t even explain WHY the character turned out that way, he just shows up out of nowhere that way and is suddenly evil for some reason…
They couldn’t just leave him alone, they had to make him age like an entirely different character, like an imposter… This whole thing wouldn’t of been a issue if they didn’t confirm it was Bobby’s original Peter and just an imposter…. They could’ve chose any other character but had to choose him out of all things to mess up his whole character where it makes 0 sense… You know they only did this to spit on Bobby because they had nothing better to do…😔
Poor Bobby… 😔 Not cool Disney… NOT cool… You threw him under the bus back then and now screwed up the entire character of Peter just to make in fun of him throwing him under the bus even more? Ugh.

How do you know if this wasn’t Seth Rogans idea, to open up more eyes to topic? Maybe he even got some backlash from Disney for doing it. Maybe he might have gone a little more disrespectful with it so Disney wouldn’t think twice about it.
