Beautiful Car ! I think I'll have to build one of those when I retire. It'd make a fun Project. An old Chevy guy here. Niase Certified mechanic 1980's era. I love me a small block Chevy. 350 small blocks rock ! Work horses and rev good too.
Steve, very nice car I’m 57 years old. Your vintage car brings back so many memories. I would love to see a door tray plate with a root beer and a hamburger and fries. She’s a screaching mama. Your my idol sir.🥰🙋♂️👍🏻🇺🇸
Beautiful car! I had a 57 210 wagon with the original 283/PG. In the 80s it developed a rod knock and the oil pressure would drop to zero at the stop lights. Drove like that for 2 more years. 283 very robust engine!
Very sweet looking ride... Loved the Nomad.... You stated in the video it was stock... you mentioned a 327 4 bbl... 327 was not released until 1962 in the Corvette.. as well as a crate engine to make a very low cost engine for upgrades in the 55,56 & 57 Chevys... also I am sure that the car did not come from the factory with a 4 Speed....I do know that the 4 speed was available as a dealer installed option for a bit under $200.... But I must admit that the Black Nomad has to be one of the best looking.... Nice Car thanks for sharing....
gorgeous car!! my dad had one until he wrapped it around a telephone pole,he showed me an old pic of it before he totaled it and i slapped him in the head,he says the hell did ya do that for? i yelled at him and said that could've been mine! and it would have been worth more than any car you ever had lol!
That's awesome car. Don't see them looking that good. The wife takes one look and said me no mad no more. Can it haul as... Sure get in I'll show you. I may have to make two trips. 🧐☺️
Soo S W E E E E T! Just think what a 327 cu inch w/fueler heads w/ set of Hooker headers would make it sound like. But still you were SMARTER to try to keep it as STOCK as you could. BEAUTIFUL , BEAUTIFUL RIDE. 57’s with the fins/WINGS were Sooo BAD ASS. Thx for the Video, really, REALLY ENJOYED IT. 👍👌💪💪👊🍺🍺🍺
Really nice, Steve. I would still be trying to figure out where to put the gas in👀☺️ I had a 327 in my 65 Chevy Impala. Someone rebuilt it with duel exhausts and solid lifters. I learned how to adjust them from a book. We didn't have videos about it back then. I only paid $175 for it because the guy who was selling it thought it was a bad rebuild job because it was overheating, but he didn't tell me. I drove it home from Belvidere and just before I got to my driveway, the water pump gave out and steam was blowing everywhere. I was really glad to get the car so cheap because it was jacked up with mags and wide tires, and painted a really pretty birds egg blue, and sounded great. So, I was happy to replace the water pump and it wasn't hard to get at. But, when I called the guy back and told him, he was really mad. That's how I figured out that he didn't know that the only thing wrong with it was the water pump going bad. I drove that car to work and everywhere for 2 or 3 years until it started burning oil.
My Dream Car, So thanks for the ride as well as the info! I'm diggin the Finns and the original #'s! Woundering if it a luggage rack is possible without alterations?
Hey Stephen I was looking at some of your older videos you had an old Ford truck he was driving in then you got a 57 no man what else you got you got some good looking cars
I'm a four wheel drive type of person. These cars went where 4x4's go today. I would like to build a replica of the body, and put it on a Toyota miny truck chassis.
Awesome Nomad for being mostly stock. Only thing I'd do, add headers, perhaps a turbo to the 283, & MDS ignition. But still, car looks great, exhaust sounds plenty mean, & all an all car looks better than fair condition.
Where do you find these cars in Massachusetts have a pretty expensive I would think they are you must have a lot of money good for you that you work hard for it how many cards do you have
Hey Steve! are you freakin kidding me!!? 57 Nomad is one of the coolest cars ever! It's all about the Wings, baby! Good choice of updrades. That 1405 edelbrock sounds about perfect for the 327! I am more than jealous my friend! I've been hell bent on either the 57 nomad or an "Apache" era Suburban for a long time. Gotta do a video of my truck now. It's definitely not "factory clean" but, I've had a lot of fun with it and it's a reliable daily driver!
Great idea with the strap on the hood. It happened to me back in 1970S with my 55 which I still have. Luckily I was only going 20- 25mph in front of my house on my block at the time of lift off,LOL. The hood went up like 20ft flying level missed the roof & windshield landed behind me like 100 ft just like an airplane on all four corners flew pretty good,HA! I just laid the hood on the car latched it without bolting it to the hinges stupid lesson learned I was a kid, LOLL! Hood was hardly damaged at all corners bent a little fixed it. Do you still have this real nice Nomad??Do you do most of your work yourself? regards.. Glenn
Steve, That is a really nice looking car. The first actual new car that I ever drove was a black Bel Air Sport Coupe. The 283 was the hottest thing on the street in 57. Good plumbers are good mechanics! Thanks
Wow! Nice Steve. Did you upgrade to 12V or was it already that. I laughed when you were running down the road, I recognized the squeaks, I grew up riding in these rides...:)

steven lavimoniere : Makes it Worth More W/ 283,Even Though Most Buyers Would Rather it Be 327.
@@stevenlavimoniere I just figure you have so many sharp vehicles you have trouble keeping their details sorted out.

OMG Steven yeah man yeah!! What a treat to see your collection. :D
Happen to catch this video. Do you not have your cars anymore, not seen any recent videos?
i got the voice mail .how did you do that????
The 283 had motor mounts just above the front sides of the oil pan and were part of the engine block. The 327 is not an original motor.
What a gorgeous car man I think you could run service out of it
Das geilste Auto, auf Erden.
Amerikanische Ingenieurskunst vom Feinsten. 👍👍✌

Next level mama
Well When I buy a Nomad I’m gonna have to adopt your accent. It just fits with the car if you know what I mean.?
All the Nomads were Belaires. The original engine would have been a 283, the 327 wasn’t developed until 1963.:beautiful Car.
Nice whip brah
59 & 60 had the bat wings & 57 had the fins
Robert Reynolds thanks for watching
Nice
Donald Hawkes thanks for the comment
NICE!!!
Forgot to add when I sold the car the original 283 power pack went with it
As a fellow hvac tech, add me to your will!
