    I love every detail you did, I didn't do these, buffer the holes. Thank you

      Thank you so very much! The holes can definitely be fussy but the dremel makes short work of them

      Thank you so much! I kept thinking that although the acrylic blanks are obviously quicker being able to add design elements from the get go is so much more fun! 💞

    Question i had filled the mold all of the way up but when I goto removed it the holes didn't go all the way through I would habe to use a drill probably so what did I do wrong thanks

    • @ChellesBeads
      @ChellesBeads  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is actually because the mold was too full and it covered the silicone plugs that create the holes. To avoid this, I usually use a stir stick to drop droplets around the holes. Something else I’ve done with really fiddly molds is use a dab of Vaseline on the tip of the plug so resin doesn’t stick to it. I hope this helps! 💜💜💜

    How fragile are they?

    • @ChellesBeads
      @ChellesBeads  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They hold up really well! They are between 1/8th and a 1/4” inch thick. I would say if it’s used properly they would hold up very well. As far as age appropriateness, I would say child to adult as long as the child can handle stationary items like paper and pens and things like that. Resin is quite durable.

    Hi

    You should be scraping your edges of the cup, bottom, and stir stick a few times while mixing resin. You can scrape the edges to get it all out into the mold, as you have mixed thoroughly. Pro tip... with multi layers , I don't have to wait 12 to 24 hrs in between. I put it into my upgraded TeeXpert resin curing machine and only wait to around 3 hrs at best depending on what I am curing. Check out Steve McDonald Arts and Crafts. He also uses one. He tested it in a video, now uses it for resin and clay projects.

      Hi thank you so much for your comment. I always scrape the edges of my cup and stir stick. I have been working with resin for over 12 years and know that it has to be thoroughly mixed to avoid improper curing. A lot of that happens off camera. As for using a curing machine, I usually don’t have a need as I am in a very warm climate, that said I make my videos so that people who are at all skill and budget levels can complete the project without having to purchase expensive equipment. Another issue that can happen with some of the brands of resin I use is flash curing. The resin curing machines need to be monitored in order to prevent that. Even a few degrees of inconsistency can cause a flash cure or potential fire. I will definitely check it out though. 💞
