Only doing the thumb one right now, starting to get it every now and then, just don't think too much about catching it helps along with keep your wrist in place and trying to aim for your thumb while moving it (also sometimes I get it to spin on my hand with no means of catching it 😅)
Do you need to train flexibility for these? For the 3rd one, my pinky is just short of being able to grab the pencil, not short as in height, but it just doesnt reach it.

First of all, make or buy some simple pen spinning mod, it's way more easy to do tricks with something that has weight to it than with a regular pen or especially pencil. Second, try not to launch the pen towards the thumb but pass it smoothly, you don't need to put much force into it. Third, try not to move your thumb too much, let the momentum of the pen move it around the finger.
I had like my whole life of muscle memory to break through. I ended up using my other hand to hold the pen while doing the motion with my right hand. It eventually worked when I did it by accident and now I can do it semi consistently. You’ll definitely be able to/ you already did it, if you just keep practicing

try not to grind out continuous charge, it's useless

If you're having trouble with the thumb around make sure your thumb is not moving the pen.

I do the charge with the bottom on my flap because the tip hurts

That's normal just. Keep practicing and the sliding will decrease!
