    Thanks for this honest review! I've been getting into farming sims and found this one on the shelf. I did pick it up and played a bit of it, but it never seemed to be that fun. Didn't have much character dialogue, story or events that intrigued me to play more. I only played about 10 hours of it so far, wish they would have updated it, put some more thought into it and fixed the bugs 😕

      Yeah the dialogue sucks in the beginning but it does get better once you beat the game and youre trying to marry someone. Then they get a bit flirty but yeah the storyline is trash. I hope the next game Harvest Moon that comes out is just a freeplay

    I really like this game and the fact I don't need like 10 extra ugly machines on or around my farm to make things is nice(the machines we do get look well fitting onto the farmhouse as well). I also really like the cutscenes that play when you romance or get to know the characters better. I also love that you get to choose from 3 options of dialogue instead of some boring standard yes or no generic option. I think the bachelors and bachelorettes themselves have interesting personalities and backstories as well. I love the way they made it hassle free to farm so it knows to just pull out your hoe or watering can instead of having to open the inventory and choose. My main complaints are how ugly the environments are and that really sucks considering how many large open spaces the game has and how that is pretty much the gimmick of the game. They should have gotten someone who could actually do great landscape texturing in on this darn game. The character models are pretty nice though and it was about time they let us customize our avatar even if the options are a little limiting.

      Yes I agree with you. The machines are super annoying to listen to and take up so much room, and have to be constantly running if you ever want enough stuff to do something. The marriage candidates are way better too.
      I find that there is a lot of issues with open world games and how big and bland some places are. I would also say this game is a true open world and SOS: Olive Town is not.

    I just started playing and I really like it. I haven’t played since I was a kid. I have 4 medallions and this black nose sheep thing is taking ages

    • @vitaluka
      @vitaluka  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I think once you get the pet it takes 20 days to age up. Definitely puts a damper on trying to beat that section.

      Oh wow that's a really long time for you to wait. It is quite fun once you get to free play so just be sure to beat the main portion as fast as you can.

    this chick is way ahead of the game - I own a handful of these titles - never completing one of them.

      Have you ever played Rune Factory? I just went back and beat the first one over my break because when it came out I was too chicken to actually fight the monsters so I got further in my game by Spring 12 than I did by Fall 30 in my replay.

    You should try Stardew Valley, its very much like HM64.

    • @vitaluka
      @vitaluka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have. I don’t like how little energy that the character starts off with, so that made it really hard for me to get into it like I have with Harvest Moon games.

    They don't know how to make these types of games anymore just play Stardew valley till something awesome comes out or play rune factory 5 or 4

    • @vitaluka
      @vitaluka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am currently binge playing Rune Factory 5. I also don't like stardew valley. I just couldn't get into it. But in my free time I went back and beat Rune Factory 1 and 2 as well as 4 and haremed in 4.

      @@theplayerguy4505 I like the fighting that is definitely nice especially since playing the first and second. I feel like the story line should be more spread out naturally than it is. I know other people who beat the storyline by the summer and honestly I'm at Spring 27 and really close to the end and it's just a lot. Like way too much. It would feel better if they dragged it all out to the Fall. That's the major downside to me, though I am loving the story and open world.

      @@vitaluka I love RF5 so far. I'm partially blind, so naturally can take longer to finish things, so I don't mind a bit of a shorter story.
      I played Stardew for awhile, but despite having craptastic eyesight and not typically being a graphics snob because of that I just am not a big fan of pixel art things, and also some sound effects in it. I mean, it's a great game, but I had a lot of trouble finishing the story and just got burnt out.
      As for One World, I've mostly been hesitant because I hated the fact Natsume kept the rights to the Harvest Moon name and thedecided to cash in on it from those who don't know any better, that the company who made classic HM games has rebranded them as Story of Seasons due to the name rights issues. However, I'm still just kind of tempted to buy this for some reason. Curiocity, I guess. I'll probably just pick it up on PC at some point, though, since Switch eshop doesn't let you return games for refunds, and I don't know if I'd want to get this on Xbox One if it's even on there, or PS4.

      Harvest Moon was always more of a niche genre. Then the name was hijacked by the rights holder, churning out soulless bad games under the name. The actual spiritual successor to the franchise is Story of Seasons. And even that one is very niche and not very successful.
