You can also pop bubbles using 99% isopropyl in a spritz bottle. Just spray the top of your piece and watch them disappear. I've been working with resin for years now and I never use a heat gun.
Great job! Thanks for trying out the $ store epoxy resin. I’m hoping a store near me carries it. Haven’t seen it yet? For more of an opaque finish try acrylic paint, mica powder or adding an opaque white alcohol ink or dye to the color of your choice. I think acrylic paint gives the best results for the most opacity, but mica powder is my favorite! I love the pearlescent effect & very little powder goes a long way.
Resin is definitely addictive. Be careful with a heat gun. If it blows too hard, it will move the resin and may push it out of the mold. You can use a long-neck lighter to pop the bubbles. That's what I use. To make white resin, you can use white mica powder. It's a good idea to at least wear a face mask when working with resin. A respirator is better. The fumes may not seem strong, but they can definitely damage your lungs. Have fun!
If you want white on the plate covers you could put a layer of white on the bottom then let it cure and then go in with a second layer of pink. I think that would give you the desired look
Nice job! If you use opaque white alcohol ink in clear resin and mix well, then pour into the back,it should still work . The pink and glitters will show. Have fun!
I received from my friend for Christmas a coaster resin kit, so now watching you, I can now know how to do it, great job, loved them both. Love from Fl.😍
Great review, pink one my fav. I just tried DT resin. 💕it! I had no bubbles, no bad odor, cured fast. 30 min. working times accurate. I think people mix too vigorously sometimes. I stirred gently but thouroughly for 5 min. Why pay $70 for expensive brands if u dont have to. Thanks🍭
I got a heat gun for resin stuff off Amazon during a sale for around $23. Not too bad. I wonder if a shimmery white or black paint on the back of the switch plates would look better than, say, a flat acrylic paint. If you do paint them, I hope you'll share how they turn out.
Hey Leigh, 👍 Great job / very cool! Best way to try out resin for 1.25 from the $ 🌴 all four came out beautifully. I haven't tried resin, but I'm already hooked on the diamond painting kits from $ 🌴 so much that I ordered kits from Amazon. So I'm going to pass on the resin at least for now 😊 Thanks so much for sharing 🌷
I have not bought any of the resin items from DT and only saw a few pieces out of town but if and when I see a whole collection I may have to pick up as this looks fun and easy and I love the dog paws....tds :) XO from Texas
What is the white circle around the screw holes on the light switch plates? Is that a design, or just the way you poured it! I’m impressed that dollar tree makes resin and that it is good!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for this demo. I’ve been wondering about doing this so it was helpful to see. I think you did a great job .
I think they turned out GREAT for your FIRST time 😊
Top off the back with black or heavy white resin and the bubbles on the paws won't show 😊

Thanks for this. Nothing like being real.
Love it.. if you dont have a Heat Gun you can use a hair dryer.
I was worried it would blow the resin around too much.
@@LeighsHome05 Just dont put too close to the resin. I do alot projects with Resin when I first started I used the hair dryer and it worked. Try it.
To get bubbles out you can also put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and just spray into the mold

Those paw prints would make beautiful christmas orinaments ❤❤❤❤

She would actually have to do white second because the bottom of the mold is the front of the piece.
I think they were cute for a first timer! Loved the glittery last one would love to make glittery switch plates!💓💓
They all turned out nice, essentially the last paw print with the glitter.
Nice job! If you use opaque white alcohol ink in clear resin and mix well, then pour into the back,it should still work . The pink and glitters will show. Have fun!
Thanks for trying this for all of us

It's bubbles. I need to pop those next time.
I think when I’m able to go out I will definitely try it ❤❤❤❤❤
I just used these for my first time using resin. I'm just waiting on them to cure.
The 2nd paw print was my favorite
I thought maybe a key chain
Great job! I had no clue what resin was and what you did with it? 🤣🤣. Thank you.
Love these! Could you make them dog paws into Christmas ornaments? Can you write a name on them? So very cute and the light switches are nice too.
nice
Nice job
🙏✌️👍
If you have a harbor freight near you that is the cheapest place to get a heat gun. Have fun!
Temus cheap!
Nice
Where did you find the molds at
Dollar Tree
Try painting the back white??
Its not bad at all...
Did everything come from the dollar tree or just the resin?
Everything came from Dollar Tree.
