The most beautiful thing about this is that the kids are eating with their hands. No tantrums, no qualms about what others might think. Lovely to see your entire family adopting the local way of life :)
@@yvesthesleeve Sir, this is great. But one advice for you - the kids are really young. Please be careful about feeding them food from roadside small eateries in India. This might not be hygienic and the kids might get food-borne diseases.
Awesome ! Udaipur jis beautiful city.General trrivia on Daal Tadka -Tadka is oil/butter having frried cumin seeds n red chilli sometimes onion ,garlic .once the daal us cooked -SeperateTadka is made and hot tadka is placed on daal giving a buttery layer enriches the taste 😊
Tadka means tempering.First daal ie lentils are simply boiled in water adding salt and then tempered with a little butter/clarified butter (ghee) and cumin seeds are spluttered in it with asophoetida ,green or red chillies etc.
Haha, loved the vid, beautiful family. If your family feels comfortable maybe get more of their reviews and reactions as well, love the vibe, hope india treated you well. 🙏💚💙
I love Indian food and I love vegetarian food, but I’m lactose intolerant.😢 Not only that, but I am anemic, so I’m eating more meat lately. I’m hoping they find the bleed in my gastric system and fix it, so I can stop my iron infusions and I can go back to eating mostly plant proteins. 😊 That food looked incredibly delicious!
There is jaggery and clarified butter ( ghee )in churma , crush the bati mix with daal and chutney, churma is to be eaten in the end of meal like a dessert
If you have not been to Rishikesh yet try to visit. its off season time and hotels are very cheap. not too crowded. lots of foreigners. weather is beautiful between 10 to 20 degrees. you might even find an ashram to live for very cheap or even free and maybe you can try and learn some yoga and hike up the mountains. just spending time at the banks of the Ganga river itself is very relaxing. food is good too. most cheap hotels are near Laxman Jhula which currently is under repairs but you can use the Ram jhula to go near the hotels of Laxman Jhula. its just about 1.5 kms.
@@yvesthesleeve hi thats not what I meant my dear. foreigners come during this time as the crowd is less and stay is far cheaper. they come this time to learn yoga and meditation and stay around longer in the pristine environment. Rishikesh is a bit too cold for Indians living in other states and so they avoid coming there between December to February which makes it convenient for people from the rest of the world to visit.

I was just waiting for you to have complete thali...in Ahmedabad itself ..But now you tried it..once in a while, until you stay in India, try these kind of local THALI..it will have slight local flavour, sumptuous, and fresh also..You need not break your head in selecting dishes. .children can eat what they like..have ghee over Roti.
Vanakkam Sir & your family members. How are u all? Glad to know you all enjoyed the different varieties of dinner, lassi & tea which are nutritious & good at Udaipur. Take care & happy travels.👌👍👏🙏
Nice bro... Also, you have to break the Bati amd mix it in your Dal ( lentil curry) and when Bati Soaks Dal, it develop flavour.... Churma is Household food in Rajasthan and in most north Indian states.... That green thing was curiander chutney...
So many foreign nationals arriving and filming their experiences. Many of the eateries they visit are not visited by upper middle class locals. Because of hygiene level they maintain
Your older son, winston, seemed like he was starving and ofcourse he is growing into a handsome young boy/teenager soon? :-) usually he is always reserved but today he was the 1st one to try out all! or it could be that he got more coverage today as he was next to you 😃.you may know now , 'tadka' in the daal is the seasoning/tempering thats garnished. The green chutney seemed like made of 'pudina' ie 'mint' chutney. and one reason, AFAIK. why onion is served in most of north indian cuisine is its a great sugar balancer.. given the food is high on carbs, for better maintence of sugar, onions are served. I could be wrong but thats my understanding! and lastly, kudos to you both for ensuring the food is not wasted(you were well fed by the restaurant folks) especially with kids around , food tend to get wasted.👏👏
We try to get a good protein source which is kind of ensured by the different lentils and peas and the paneer, also the dal bati has its share. His name is actually Vincent and he is almost 10, it very differs what he eats in front of the camera but he does generally eat a lot.
@@yvesthesleeve Apologies for mentioning him incorrectly! As you go up north and places like Rajasthan etc, one will find more hygenic and authentic/healthy food!
