One of my favorite aspects about Kratos’ character here is how he becomes attached to Pandora, and hearing his voice become more earnest as he says “I will find another way.” It’s like he becomes a completely different person when he’s around someone he considers his child. This scene hits harder after you’ve played Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, where you really get a feel for everything he’s lost.
No matter how scary a man is, he is nothing but a doting father in front of his child.

Ever since the beginning of GoW all he wanted is to be with his child, but unlike GoW 2018, He chose his personal vengeance and selfish act over his child, even pandora. He didn't chose to be a god-killer, hell even a god itself, but the pantheons of greece forced him to
Yeah, Kratos was beginning to annoy me by the third game. Sure, his hatred for Zeus was justified, and to an extent the other gods, but seeing how he essentially genocided Greece without a care and needlessly tortured invididules was getting annoying. Seeing him have some humanity and seeing Pandora as a daughter figure made him more interesting than just the raging hulk

To be fair Zeus was a god among the gods, he created the blade of olympus, started the downfall of the titans, was able to match Kratos physically and was able to heal from a fight agaisn’t Kratos in just a few hours(GOW 2 Zeus fight was only a few hours before the start of GOW 3)

The end fight with Zeus is like he is fighting against whole olympus. After Kratos killed all gods, Zeus is the last one surviving and you see your own son weilding all the powers you gave to others are now fighting against you. This is why this boss battle is so epic and people want to watch it over and over again. You see a man fighting against his creation of beast.

Thor killed Kratos, and Odin required a 3v1 to beat. This fight might be more grandiose, but Odin and Thor are stronger than Zeus.
Thor uses thunderbolts and lightning himself, so he would be immune and unfazed to Zeus's only form of offensive attack, which is practically the same thing. Zeus is heavily reliant on the elements and not a warrior like Thor is. It would be a good fight, but Thor would smash Zeus's head off his neck.
Zeus talks a lot of shit, and that is his only real strength. Thor's greatest foe easily eclipses Zeus in strength and mass. Zeus had a lot of trouble with a monster and ended up trapping him under a mountain.

Man this is what Ragnarok was missing. Multi-phase, multi-staged and epic as fuck. It was a great game, I personally enjoyed the whole thing but the fight with Odin was a bit of a let down to say the least. I get it, he's not Zeus and we haven't had 5 whole games leading up to the confrontation, but his fight still felt lackluster. It was just round 1, bit of dialouge, round 2. The whole thing was over in about 10-15 minutes. Unlike the Zeus fight, it doesn't convey the sense that this guy is so powerful, and there's a reason everyone submits out of fear. Whereas this fight, Zeus is durable as fuck, taking hits just as hard as the ones he deals out, and yet he keeps coming back for more. Not to mention pretty much every old school GOW fight was the same shit, but this one got super unique with multiple things. First you have the side fighter style on the bridge, then you have the platform outside where you fight from a distance to include Gaia, then inside her in a tight space, and then you go first person and fuck up his ghost. Like this shit is perfect 👌 It conveyed well the uphill battle it would be to kill an all powerful god. Odin? Well he just felt like a slightly tougher mini boss

One thing I like about Zeus is that, he isn't afraid of going hand to hand if he has to and can actually compete in strength against Kratos.
Especially for someone that mostly uses magic.
Not like Odin where sure, I think he does seem physically strong enough to push Kratos away, but he wouldn't get into a fist fight with Kratos and would quickly resort to magic.

A lot of people complained that God of war 3's ending was bad because "oh he killed Zeus with hope? I thought he was forever angry and full of vengeance, what a cop out" they just didn't get this scene. Kratos is DONE, as in every bit of anger and resentment literally just melted away once he saw Zeus's corpse. To him it was over and he had no reason to keep being angry, Greece was destroyed and Olympus was no more. He basically stopped caring by that point and just wanted to go hide away somewhere. Hence why hope is what he used to defeat Zeus, because everything else was lost.

It's so weird to watch clips from the Greek saga again after playing both of the newer games... I wanted SO bad, just once, to see Kratos go full power in Ragnarok, but it doesn't happen. I get it, he's grown as a character and has this endless internal battle with suppressing that beast in him, but I mean, Kratos at full fucking power is literally unstoppable.

This fight with zeus is the most unique fight in the entire franchise In my opinion! first it started off as a 2D style fight like the mortal kombat games then it switched to 3D then in the last it switches to first person style combat.
