Hi Jeff, thanks for all the videos.. I just figured out how to use selection on the space bar swipe. You can position the cursor where you need using a single finger swipe, then to start selection you touch the screen with a second finger on the same hand and swipe both in parallel.. What you were doing different was holding one finger down and swiping with another.. it has to be a two finger swipe to select.. Hope this helps you and anyone else looking. Just got my S24 and your videos are perfect for new users like me who aren't familiar with the deep customization options that Samsung gives us..

I've tried clearing cache partition,restarting multiple times & found customization services in system apps & forced stop & cleared cache,nothing is working! Please help,i really don't want to factory reset.Any suggestions?
great video! just upgraded today from a Moto G Power (2021) and was wondering if there was any way to move the button to select emojis down to the bottom by the space bar. it's driving me crazy being at the top in the toolbar 😭
Jeff, Love you videos. So glad I stumbled on you a couple weeks ago. I got my S24U on release day and thought I was pretty proficient with it, but every one of your videos shows me something new. You asked us to let you know things that can be improved to pass on to Samsung. The biggest issue to me is that I lose my home screen web (Chrome) shortcuts every few weeks. Very frustrating and it never happened with my S22U phone. I've Googled this problem but none of the many people experiencing the problem have a solution. I really love the Samsung keyboard, but I also use Gboard and Microsoft Swiftkey keyboard. Jeff thank you for taking us all in the Samsung ecosystem to the next level and beyond brother. 😊
Glad you posted this, Jeff! The microphone on the bottom left of the keyboard disappears after I send about 7 messages. I then have to reset to default settings to get the microphone back.
I use both Samsung and gboard but Samsung can let you have those cool effects with the keys cafe from good lock, no other phone or keyboard can have those flashy effects. Plus Samsung copy and paste works while gboard is broken
You have a microphone in the bottom left corner. Is that just for Samsung Voice Dictation? Samsung Voice Dictation will not insert dictated punctuation. Right now, I have a keyboard in that position and when I press on it, it allows me to choose Google Voice. Is there a way to make that default without having to choose each time?

Great video! I've been a Mint Mobile customer since 2014 and I do recommend them... Any idea on how to get the Microphone as part of the keyboard shortcut? I see the shortcut for voice recording but I do not like to use that option.
The swipe to select issue is that the method is Press/hold shift key and swipe keyboard to select NOT tap shift key and swipe to select - the wording in Samsung keyboard > keyboard swipe controls > cursor control - is wrong where it says "TAP THE SHIFT KEY AND SLIDE TO SELECT" It should read 'press/hold shift key' . It's a mis-direction.

Had to change dev options. speed them up, go into Android's Settings -> Developer options. Scroll down to the three scale settings (Window, Transition and Animator scales) and change all three of them from their default of "1x" to ". 5x". That's it.Jan 24, 2024
I try so hard to use Samsung Keyboard but considering so many great features it has I don't understand how it still lacks multilanguage support (like SwiftKey or GBoard). It's a terrible experience going back and forth between languages.

Mystery box verification closed 1/31. We always close verification 2 weeks from preorder start date. We cannot ship these on a rolling basis as the logistics is a massive undertaking and my wife and I ship over a thousand boxes out of our house.
Gboard is WAY better at predicting words and nore accurate with swype to text which is how i text. But u cant beat the AI texting features that the Samsung keyboard has.
Hey Jeff the Samsung keyboard is cool that's okay I also use the Gboard which I like a lot better I don't know why but I just got an update on the Google messages I have the beta version so I keep getting things that are different check it out I hope these updates come around don't forget we have 7 years of updates That's 7 years so hopefully we'll get all the updates that we really want so far so good on this phone I'm liking it and you know what I don't even pay attention to the icons you know the way it looks a little faded you know doesn't look punchy you don't even notice it but if it comes it comes take care say hello to the little Springer for me😅😅😅😅😅😅
I did learn some things. However, I do have a couple of issues. 1. You talk way too fast. 2. You read through menus without much explanation as to what they do. I can read but I don't understand what all the features do.
As a previous Gboard user, I am now using Samsung Keyboard due to its integration of AI features and Google voice typing. This eliminates the need for me to continue using Gboard.
@LiveLifeWithLove do you have some specific reason for preferring the Gboard over the Samsung keyboard? I know that Gboard sometimes does a better job of interpreting my swypes. I am not sure it is that much better. But I am giving the Samsung keyboard another try due to its integrationaskari checking to see whether it has improved over the last time I tried it. I think so.
@@jspring86 horribly limited selection of translation languages keeps me on Gboard. I need Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Moldovan.. all absent from Galaxy AI.. despite all of the cool things Samsung keyboard does, translate is the deal breaker
Why use g-board? Coming from a Pixel or other Android? Curious as I’ve stuck with Samsung (Google Assistant ❤️) open to change, whether is the benefit over the native keyboard.

Got my s24 ultra today! Amazing device!! Still not entirely free of micro lags in the animations but it gets better with each generation

I've never been able to get the highlight to work with the keyboard cursor. I always wind up just long pressing a word, then dragging the handle.

For the swipe to highlight text to work, do exactly what you did but move the finger that's on the space bar instead of the other one
