Hey boss… a few points you may/may not be aware of….
I just bought a 24 Tacoma TRD Pro and you’re right, the first thing I considered was a hard tonneau mainly bc I carry recovery gear, pelican boxes and such plus I didn’t want to be like everyone who buys racks for bed and cab, it’s just a cookie cutter mentality and I like being secure but also be under the radar. Now here’s the irony: Toyota wanted $2200 for their hard 3 piece tonneau but after talking to their “custom shop”, found out it’s nothing more than a rebadged BAK MX4 ($1200), so you’re on point about being overcharged. Second, many people don’t know that even though there’s 50+ suppliers whether Amazon or direct, there’s really only 20 companies and of those RealTruck owns 10 of them incl Bak, Undercover, LockNRoll, TonnoPro, Tyger, Gator, etc the only difference is price, warranty and branding. You can buy a $2500 hard cover but get the same quality, design and features as a $500 one from TonnoPro. The outliers are companies like Rough Country like the one you got that the $100 price difference between the trifold and trifold flip is a 2/3 open versus full open/lays against the cab… so with $650 or $750… both are great and have the built in drain systems. Tyger is great too but it’s simply a slimmed down version of the Bak Industries. If you look at Undercover Armor Flex, Flex and Flex Select, the Armor has prop rods, flush mount, rhinolining on the cover and a trifold. The Flex doesn’t have the rhinolining but it does have the rods and integrated lights then the Select has the least amount of water resistance (the others are fully sealed) but has no coating yet if you buy weather stripping from HomeDepot or Lowe’s, it’s just as water sealed as Armor or Flex… it’s all how RealTruck aka Truck Hero markets their products to every level of consumer.

The new mic sounds good. I don't have a truck anymore, but this episode made me think that I might be able to install a tonneau cover when I get a Silverado EV in the future. Glad to see you're expanding your informational episodes to your truck. Still looking forward to seeing the 71 out on the road!

In 2018 I bought a Lomax folding hard tonneau cover from Agri-Cover, Inc for my 2017 RAM 1500. I believe this is the same one Weather Tech sells. I installed it myself and it has held up pretty well. Glad to see you back with the installation/mod videos.😀

For that issue in the front corners being exposed to water and other elements, I had the same issue today with my install on my 2025 ram 1500. I went and purchased some weather strips and cut them to cover those corners. Used 3m double sided sticky tape 60 pound. And some weather strip foam to insulate it more. Now I don’t see sunlight from the corners of the front of the bed. Also, buy a tube extension and some small hose clamps to extend and align the tube away from the frame and any other components that you wouldn’t want water touching. Especially since I live in Rhode Island and we get a lot of snow and rain and they pour salt and sand on the roads during the winter, I didn’t want salt water draining into the body and onto other parts of the trucks parts. I have it so it drips down away from anything. I also didn’t like how the “low profile” wasn’t really low and level. It bumps above the trim of the bed about a quarter inch

@ I have the 25 ram 1500 night edition sst HO. I absolutely love it. Way faster than my hemi was and so much better on gas and my wallet. It’s my dream truck and I finally have it. Good lock brother and I have some links to some really cool shit for your truck. Glass Screen protectors for the 12 inch display, back seat storage for under the seat, magnetic lights for the bed that charge usb, light bars, plastic ram logo splash guards and dark rain guards with tabs not adhesive. Truck bed floor Mats. I purchased so much stuff to make my baby better. Good luck with the truck man and if you ever have any issues with engine lights, random codes or your car reads fob but doesn’t turn on, don’t panic. The software updates lately have bugs that set off lights and codes when it’s all software not mechanical.

I have a 2017 Silverado that I bought six months ago, the first thing I add was running boards (Not Rough Country) along with under the hood LED lights because it had no light. I then ordered a Rough Country tri fold bed cover (still I have some small leaks to work out), it was easy to install, after that I added led bed lights that automatically come on when you lower the tail gate. I'm replacing the stock side mirrors with heated tow mirrors with built in turn signals. I have decided no to put a small lift kit on it, I'm drop the rear with a Rough Country leveling kit. I suggest buying vacuum line from an auto parts store because the drain lines would bend because they were so thin!
