      I believe so, but to be fair to Zoom my setup is very amateur and undoubtedly the sound quality isn't optimized.

    Most of these effects are in most Daws as plugins but they cant beat the real thing. That harmony function sounds great, in all that device would be very useful in any studio.

      @HOLLA SOUNDS but this is so much better without the constant menu surfing like with a DAW.

      This is meant to be used in Live recording, not post recording. If you can just record any song you sing and add effects while editing the recording in DAW, obviously you wouldn't use any device like this.
      Do you really think full sized band would use DAW and set of effect plugins for guitar, drums, vocals and bass in a concert? No they don't, they use effect processors and amps connected to a mixer for that.

    one small drawback imho is that the aux in is bypassing the effect section.
    it would have been really cool, if you had the choice to bypass or insert the aux in.
    insert aux in as left/right/combined.
    otherwise this device is really value for money. great fun and easy to use.

    Do you know what makes a chorus metallic or not? I love the metallic sound on guitar with very subtle waves or no waves if its possible but on vocals i like a warm wide chorus also with no waves. Would it be possible to make such an effect box with no waves but metallic to smooth ratio?

    I can't believe you didn't do Phil Collins "In the air tonight" with 'Harmony' switch - you're old enough to remember 😜
    But seriously - context matters! I am willing to bet that none of the nay-sayers below in the comments are voice-over performers or do any play reads or audio casting of sorts.
    The whole purpose of a vocal processor, is for people to sound as they do and the processor do all the processing for them - instead of trying to sound like a robot or a child before speaking to the mic. Get yourself a four or six person dialogue to read and record it - you'd instantly save yourself 3/4 if not 5/6th 🤪of the recording time just by pressing the right pad for the corresponding role (a man, a woman, a robot, a child and the demon on hold to the customer services representative at Subscribers from Hell on the phone). The fact that each pad retains memory of the effect adjustment is awesome. My only request would have been to be able to select multiple effects simultenously. Maybe 16 patchable pads on Mark II?

    Hello, I would like to ask a question!! I have a zoom v3 and when used as an audio interface it does not recognize it does not record the audio that enters the aux in, can you tell me if it is a problem with my zoom v3 or are they all like that ??? Has it chorus built in
    Does it actually create
    Good smooth vocal tones. Instead of all the

    Certainly can't use those sounds on stage.

    • @superheroineforum
      @superheroineforum ปีที่แล้ว

      It's in the beginning of the video and all throughout the video. Is that his being generated from the zoom unit?

    • @Kilzu1
      @Kilzu1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@superheroineforum It is the unit itself, outputs on Zoom V3 are unbalanced so you need either properly shielded cables on outputs (Vovox protect series are great, though expensive as fuck), TRS male to XLR male adapter and use XLR cable on the output, connect the ZoomV3 outputs to DI box or simply using shorter than 1 meter cables.
      You can also get rid of the hiss in post (for example audacity has noise reduction effect for that).
      I had same issue with my Zoom v3 until I got myself UMC404HD and just connected it using insert and TRS to XLR adapter and TRS to XLR male and female insert cable, though it might be just because I also use external pre-amp, compressor and noise gate as well.

  • @tonycot
    @tonycot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The 90% of effects is useless.
    And the other thing which I see - the trs connections to the mixer. Who was the engineer building that device? It will be the real problem on a stage connecting it to the hub which usually has XLR. Also it is a lot of useless effects which I feel should be changed for example to patches as on tc helicon perform-v. Hope they will do something through the firmware to use pads as patches. I hope. Until that - this unit is a only toy.

      It's easy to just make a blanket statement like that. Can you be more specific? What application (s) were you using it for? And what are your credentials? I ask your credentials to understand if you are an engineer, performer or just what level of professional or recreational application this unit failed for you.

    • @arbitraryobjective4904
      @arbitraryobjective4904 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@robertedney2189 that’s a fair point and admittedly I was frustrated when I wrote that comment. I have been recording music for the past 14 years but have not received any official classes or instruction apart from what I’ve learned on my own. I was initially frustrated with this device when I tried using it while practicing plugged into my recording setup. I had really bad latency but when I brought it to my bands practice I didn’t have the same issue plugged into the PA system. I will stand by my original statement though as I do not think this product is worth the money and I have not used it more that a handful of times since I bought it and I only used it then because I was trying to justify buying it.
