God I miss my childhood... My dad got me a KX60 when I was 7 and then a KX80 when I was 10 and then for my 14th birthday he got the Yamaha itch and got me a 1986 YZ 125. I'm 43 now with 2 kids of my own and we all 3 still ride Yamaha.
Although it was 1985, the movie, The Dirt Bike Kid, used Yamaha YZ 80s and 125s throughout the movie and this sounds exactly the same when you're rippin. So great!
Great video i remember racing my 1984 CR125 at the cow palace in San Francisco and seeing one of these brand new 1986 YZ125 line up next to me brings back great memories.
That bikes a beauty, I spent most of my early riding days riding a number of mid 80 YZ dirt bikes and when I saw this particular bike from 1986 it brought back some great memories 💪👍🔥!

I used to have one of these...built by a South African MX champion at the time. Takes me back... I think a lot of them ended up donating their motors to kart racers.
2 Strokes made motocross/off-road riding fun and *KTM/Husqvarna* is where it is at today they got the BEST 2 stroke and spending R&D on them. After the big 4 went the way of Nascar engines I went to KTM/Husky.

I have a 1987 yz125 that's double zero on the frame and the motor but it's not perfect any way shape or form but I'm rebuilding it as it came off the show room floor with Van Halen graphics on it just like the originals
Maybe you guys could co-sponsor a multigenerational evolution event- you have bikes representitve of the last 40+ years. Or a run what ya brung type event... You probably allready know, but dont keep gas in there or it will yellow the tank..
any color is better then yamaha blue i like the red n white but nothing better looking to me then the black n yellow bikes that n these bikes dont look right without matching fork boots

This was my first bike, i bought in 1987.
For me the 1986/1987 YZ were been the most beautiful MC.
I used to ride just one of that! Great times and wonderful performance.

Bought a yz 125 1987 model back in 1989 fort 1500 $. Had saved up for a long time... Happy memories and had a lot of respect for the bikes power.

Mint loved the beginin bit lifting it up the hill it sounds sweet brings back memories I had one when I was 15
I had 2 88 yz 125s i miss them alot still to this day, and compared to my 84 cr 500 the brakes and suspension were a dream lol

All the red and white from afar might think it's a cr with backwards graphics pretty doesn't win races but still a great machine D.h
i had that bike, very fast but a little heavy in handling....i found it cumbersome, but im a cr guy!
The 85s were absolute turds, but in 1986, the YZ 125 was an absolute beast!
