    I started my TH-cam channel with my iPad Pro,i film everything with the ipad, use its mics, then edit the footage with lumafusion and make the thumbnails on the iPad. its not perfect, I want to get a camera, but until I can afford all the other gear, the iPad allows me to actually create things, and I love it.

Even lumafusion is able todo it (partly) just hit the 'aircast' button and you will see playback on the second monitor fullscreen during playback and scrubbing... now the cool part this works both over a cable and wireless to a appltv !

    • @scotthunter4
      @scotthunter4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Mitchell Schleper No you don’t have to. You can just use LR Mobile stand alone but you won’t be able to do things like HDR merge and panoramas on your iPad, or add personalised watermarks. At the moment anyway. For why for me the iPad Pro is just a companion device as I find myself still needing to use my MacBook Pro to do some things the iPad apps can’t do. And just general file management whether it’s photos or music library is just much easier to manage on Mac OS. If you did want to use LR Classic bear in mind it only syncs Smart Previews to the Adobe cloud not full versions of your images. But if you import the full size images to your iPad first they will stay on your iPad and full version copies will also be backed up to your Mac automatically if the cloud.

    Hey Dad. Great test! I tried doing this a couple years back with a iPad pro 10" and my GH5. I did it mainly for run and gun editing. I believe this solution is great for budget content creators who need one machine for at home and on the road. To me speed is everything. Learning to be as fast as I am on my big editing rig as on this mini setup took some time. So word to anyone considering this, please allow yourself a learning curve before using this for a paid assignment that needs efficiency for a deadline. I tested mine on a family trip to Disneyland and that's when I learned that I still had to learn how to be quick.

    I thoroughly agree that you can use any fairly up to date iPad and it will work great with the right software, and peripherals. The future is iPad OS and you have a the opportunity to spend less cash on equipment you do not need.
    I have to recommend Procreate into the mix with Affinity Photo . If you like to use your phone to record extra B roll or use as a main camera , get some Filmic Pro in your life.
    I look forward to being able to get the right aspect ratio on the monitor and better multitasking in future updates if that is on Apples agenda

I can use it for casual video editing or photo editing, for drawing digitally, for listening to music and watching TH-cam, for schoolwork and notes, and I can upload raw game footage directly from my ps4 to my iPad to edit it. That’s sick. It’s all around an amazing thing to buy!! I was gonna get the MacBook Pro and got the iPad instead. Probably gonna get the MacBook later in life but for now this is amazing!!

    Last week I said “fuck it!, I’m buying the iPad Pro this year.” I never had it. Many reviews are about between the 2018 vs 2020 model. But hey, many of us never had one. So, I bought the new version because is more future proof. I do many things on Windows and Mac. But I will give the iPad an opportunity to become my main productivity device. 12.9” 512 Gb, Wifi with LTE (So I can always connect to my Azure remote Windows Machine to work in few things.) So... it will arrive tomorrow and I’m so excited to give it a chance. Only time will tell. Thanks for the video!

      @servidorroque4954 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don Brooklyn, believe me when I say I use it all day during the office, and free time. It’s so far my only productivity device. I’m learning to deal with the limitations (not many) but some of them are on track to be fixed. For example I do a lot of work on Microsoft Word. Sometimes it’s annoying to select text. But Microsoft announced to work on an update to better support track pad and mouse. But overall I’m happy for all I’m able to do with it. I use a lot of paid apps for my photo editing and I love to do that with the iPad Pro. Also, using the Apple Pencil it’s great for note taking and drawing. I recently made a logo for a friend’s business and it was much easier with the iPad Pro and Pen. Things to improve will be the copy speed from external storage, sometimes it takes a long time and sometimes you don’t know if it’s copying or not. Also, external monitor with limited resolution. But with some apps I’m able to use full external screen. I use certain apps to access remote windows machines on Azure cloud and they work fantastic with the mouse, track pad, and touch screen. So yeah, very portable and capable device. And etc......

    That is very exciting and another great video. But I won’t be giving up my Ryzentosh, 3950X and Radeon VII box anytime soon. It will render a 15 minute, 4K video in 3 minutes. I have the need for speed.

      @bgimusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nyrubin yeah Adobe Rush is interesting. I just redownloaded it today and I think they've been improving it. What I will say about color is while the software may not be as precise or detail oriented as some desktop apps the iPad Mini 5th gen, iPad Air 3rd gen, iPhone 7 & forward, & iPad Pros from March 2016 & forward have P3 wide color displays. Additionally, on top of the P3 wide color support iPhone X & iPhone Xs series have 1 million to 1 contrast ratio OLEDs & iPhone 11 Pro series have a 2 million to 1 contrast ratio OLED display. :)

      allthingsbgi I guess viewing it from a phone really doesn’t matter. A large part of my views come from South America and they’re usually from Computers. Some 30% so I kinda wanna give them good colors. But I’m thinking of getting the iPad Pro might get last years gen if I find it at a good price.
      Ps. Luma fusion rocks u get edit horizontal or vertically, I’m sure premiere rush will be the future if they step it up and have it any where near LumaFusion or Kine master. I love the galaxy desktop mode Rush turns into the desktop app when u plug it to a tv or external display

    I love the ipad pro ! its THE BEST multimedia tool in my opinion, sadly i can't afford it right now, but if you could do a video comparison on the possible render times on editing between that new ipad pro and the base model of last year, that would be awesome ! my heart says ipad pro but my wallet says "maybe the base one... not sure... maybe... "

      @bgimusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andy Salinas get a refurbished 2018 iPad Pro! It’s really awesome and super fast, thankfully! but even when I had the fifth generation base iPad back in 2017 I thought it was really awesome too and it worked amazing so I could only imagine the seventh generation base iPad will be awesome as well. if you’re the type of person that wants to do everything in 4K then you’ll need the storage & the speed, but if you don’t let the tech specs get to you too much then you can film, edit, & export 1080p perfectly fine! Anyways, that’s what most of our devices playback at on TH-cam.

    The 10.2 inch iPad can handle 4k editing but isn’t as smooth with bigger file sizes and multiple video channels. Rendering is slower with longer projects. So, if you’re editing short and easy projects, any iPad will suit your use case scenario. But if you are doing a pro job, get a desktop.
