I'm going to help you get rid of the gym excuse for when you are traveling: plenty of bodyweight strength moves you can do in your hotel room when on the road! Excited to watch this series!
Really looking forward to this series. Good luck Matt, this will be your year! 🔥 PS: Your channel got me from just getting into marathoning running 3:30 in 2019 and now it’s my life - going for sub 2:30 in the fall. Best training channel on the Tube
Simply ,Matt Fox is the light of athletics. When he speaks He gives us his passion for this sport, explaining how to love and to practice this sport in a correct way.Showing his excellent trainings and also how to comunicate with leadership and with charismatic style in the world of social media and general media , speaking and interwiewing the best athletes of the world. And is not a case that he has million of followers lovers,in Europe,in Usa and in others continents and that his canal,Sweat Elite Is considered the top of athletics. And I am sure that ,with the commitment that he always puts to improve ,he will can obtain in future a great time in Marathon, less than 2 .20( that in every case is a super Nice result for a person ) .Good luck for your new experience in Chicago,we Will Always follow you on Sweat Elite for your excellent communication, you are a point of reference for all people that love this sport. Alessandro Difonso Borella Comaschi e Marinella Goberti del Giglio
Great update. Love your content, Matt. Started following for the pro sessions but stuck around for you. Your channel has been a positive influence to my own running over the past couple years. No problem at all with you funding things however you can with the value you provide.
These series are great because they give us so much. The main things I take from them are session ideas (and how they're going to look/feel), and motivation from seeing the up/downs etc., that are so relatable, and how they pan out over the training week.
Maybe it's because I'm a new runner - age 41 coming into running as a cyclist, started in October 2023 - but it's the curiosity and the drive to improve yourself as a runner, irrespective of anyone else, that really has me so engaged with your journey Matt. I found this awesome channel around November I think, and fell in love with the Ekiden content which was perfectly suited for my background (I've lived in Japan and my wife is from Japan, spend 2 months there every year) but then found your Kenya stuff and I have to say I think this is the most exciting running channel I've found on TH-cam. Also it's cool to follow your workouts on Strava. Very excited for you this year Matt you're going to crush your PB get it!
This channel series is so so interesting. Can't wait to see how Matt gets on following this new program. Listened to the podcast yesterday and I was surprised that Matt will not increase his training volume/mileage increase till maybe the last 6 weeks before his major marathon race. It sometimes appears all backwards to me so will be very interesting to follow and see the progress. Really wish Matt the best.
Sweat elite is definitely one of my favorite youtube channels! Can’t even imagine how much work it is to put these videos out there! Thanks for sharing such outstanding content with us… good luck with your project, can’t wait to watch all the videos! 👏🏾👏🏾
Really cool stuff! I’m looking forward to the series and will become a share holder. I’m a sponge and hope this will all help me to run a sub 3 in the autumn. Keep it up. Love SE
Awesome content here. I like how the sponsorships are curated in a way that will also contribute to us amateur athletes. Would not complain even if a couple more sponsors were added for the benefit and longevity of the company/channel.
100% respect your love for the sport and your journey. Looking forward to more videos to the serious. I too have been stuck the last 2 years (2:45-2:49). I found higher mileage does not equal faster times for all. Same as running nutrition (gels etc). I'm headed to Boston in a few weeks and took a different approach to training this time around. Would love to share my race result. Wish you the best bro. keep on chasing those goals.
Good onya Matty!! Looking forward to another quality series and to also see how much you grow and mature into the youtube world.. A lot of people will use this as a template, me included..
Thank you for your candor in this video and I'll be following. I watched your vids last year and they were inspiration for me to up my level of commitment to running last summer.
Uau, such nice content to receive today. I'm a big fan of the channel, but this project particularly touches me. Greetings from someone who will run the Paris marathon in a week, also inspired by your videos, Matt.
Buzzing for this series mate! It was class following along with the previous ones. I’m really interested to see how this low mileage, high speed approach works out (esp. as it’s basically the complete opposite to my training 😂). Good luck, let’s get ittttt 💪
nice project man. you know i am around here since day 1. thanks still for the follow on strava too. gotta give up running because of my ankilosing spondilitis but will gonna go hard on cycling after ramadan fasting phase.
Thank you, this is a great series! 60-70mpw may not be that high for a serious marathoner, but then what is? For the everyday athlete, regular working class, or ex- 800m athlete that could be the mark for progression
Hello Matt Fox, I was just wondering what kind of shoes are you wearing on that Treadmill Machine we’re you are hooked up with the mask on your face that’s connected to the computer monitoring your breathing, I want to know what kind of running shows those are, the white with Orange shoes?
Hiii, Bijen here, a fellow triathlete! I was reading your Sweat Elite article about the zone 6, 5, 4 training with zone 1 and 2 recovery days, and it got me thinking about how to structure my own workouts. I was wondering if you typically do the same intensity work for both bike and run on those higher intensity days and take recovery, or if you separate them into different workouts?
Interesting. Rate limiting step is lactate. Perhaps a change in your gastro-biome; make sure you don't lack the right bacteria in your gut. I'm thinking some diet tweaks in addition to training, somehow your are getting on the wrong side of electrolytes during competition; that isn't training, that's diet (sorry, thinking out loud here). Feel free to reach out.
Are you an expert or coach in this area? I've struggled with cramps and figuring out my electrolytes. My fitness is always good, but cramp is late miles no matter what I try (many brands, and a large variety of quantities/volumes experimented with).
Great stuff. I was not sure if you would do another Guinea pig series .. there is an element of vunrebility to this sort of thing which you really need the mentel strength for. I just hope the possative vibes from real people out way the negatives. Re other stuff and the new site .. all good 👍
Hi Matt. Great video. 1 question. What does mean RCT and AT on the white paperboard at 16:28 ? Anaerobic Threshold ? Thanks. I Hope you will achieve your best version of yourself !!! I'am with you with m'y mind !! 💪💪
Maybe, just maybe the best way to progress in the marathon its best to not run marathons but focus on 5k-10k improvement before switching back to attack marathon goals.
Cant wait to hear any insights on cramping as this effects me also and it doesnt seem to simply be dehydration / electrolyte imbalances. Are you thinking its coming from muscle overload and neuromuscular fatigue? Is the plan to get lots of speed into the legs (to overcome said fatigue) prior to switching into marathon specific training?
Good luck Matt. You have nothing to lose. You have the pace and endurance but I fear you will need to drop some lbs. Most marathon African winners these days are coming in at 125-135lbs.
Do you ever consider that Maybe , just maybe that is your limit for long distance... predominant type II muscle fiber composition? Do you check CMJ/SJ jumps? whats your 5k, 3k best timesin trelation to the 2h20'?? What is your VLamax? Anyway, good for your wiling to chase boundaries, looking forward to your progress
Yes, I have wondered that. I guess because I still haven't been able to finish a Marathon running "all out" since November 2021 (cramping in the way).. i've felt its possible to go 2:17-2:18 which was the pace I was until 24mi/39k when I ran 2:20 in November 2021 (til cramps kicked in)...
Imo ads are just annoying. I have no problem with brand plugs or brand sponsorships though. For good content and if there's a lot of extras like on the website that can enhance one's training I think it's fine to ask for a fee. I agree I don't get why some people think everything should be for free. They don't work for free themselves haha.
If you want to stop the cramping, you should talk to a pro cycling dietician. They're doing a lot of things like training the gut to take more carbs per hour, etc
Can’t wait to see how you evolve this year!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
And can’t wait to run Boston with ya!
This channel deserves way more subs than 131.000 - Good work.

Absolutely
But they do have more subs than 131.

The middle distance race footage though 🔥🔥🔥

I'm going to help you get rid of the gym excuse for when you are traveling: plenty of bodyweight strength moves you can do in your hotel room when on the road! Excited to watch this series!
Haha!
I totally agree about training 4 months and hope for 1 marathon to hit the time. I find the 2nd marathon within a month our body got stronger.
I wish you the best. Comebacks are usually the strongest moves
Thanks Kioko
Really looking forward to this series. Good luck Matt, this will be your year! 🔥

I think with your trainings you are easily worth better. I know 2:15-17 guys that couldnt keep up with your trainings
