Getting used to 'training by feel' has really helped me. I've become much better at listening to my body and not forcing a run when I would benefit more from recovery. Thanks for all your running advice!
I love the very subtle humor that Ben always sprinkles into the videos and it gets me every single time. This time it was the snide reference to massage parlors. I lived in the UK and I know what that means lol 🤣🤣 jokes aside, just love Ben and Mary's channel, full of positive energy!

I’m a very new (49F) runner and have been trying to follow a programme that I realise has been too much for where I am right now, just had a week of collapse. So I’m back training but using adaptations (more walking breaks, going slower, using cross training) so that I can keep training without breaking myself!
Ben, I appreciate your input about doing what works for you and not what the "training regimen " says to do. I was really having trouble doing two speed training a week, and I've replaced one with strength training thanks to your suggestion 😊

Insane. Due to my work schedule, I had to shuffle around my running schedule to run 5 days in a row. A mix of long, easy and workouts. My legs were DEAD. I couldn't imagine keeping up with this kind of schedule... Yes I wish I had the time and ability to do it

Hello! What an amazing video!! As beginner runner. When do you know when your body can go to a 3, 4, or 5 day run? I am getting faster, but on rest days I miss running. I hope that makes sense! lol You seem to know your body well. ❤️
This days sub 2.10 its nothing , my friend run his first marathon and finish Seville Marathon 2.07 and go to Olympic for Sweden. If u can handling the new carbon plate shoes in right way makes ur legs swings .. me self am almost 50 years old and still running sub 2.30 marathon .. Of course u need train too. But runners need do more of longruns up to 40km where u runs 30km of that run in ur marathon pace one of the keys .

I've been running for 6 years now and with 100km+ weeks with workouts and long runs up to 38k+ I haven't even cracked sub3!! You obviously have some great genetics so what you're saying for the average person is so crazy!! 🤪 🤦 But good on you to be able to have the time and genetics to run sub230 at age 50+.
@@paultimothyL u should focus more in ur longruns to handling the distans and do less 10-15km junk milage .. u dont need those milage if u not are sub 2.12 pro level runner. In ur marathon plan How to run ur longruns, 40km-30km in ur marathon pace 35km 25km in ur marathon pace 30km-20km in ur marathon pace 25k.-15km in ur marathon pace × marathon pace =around ur goal pace some days u feel ur body not real are there but u run like 10-15 sec slower then Example Week 1 Wednesday 25km and Saturday 30km Week 2 Wednesday 35km and Saturday 40km Week 3 Same like week 1 In week 1 u have 1 rest day on week 2 u have 2 rest days week3 same like week1 week 4 same like week 2 U do 1 speed work , 1-2 easy runs and 1-2 stedy pace runs Easy runs need go in very slow pace like 6min-6.15min/km mostly runners run to fast easy runs and that make u dont recovery in right way Some of ur long runs u gona change in some specific training in ur plan Like 4-5*5km , 3*10km , If u start train like this u gona see a big difference on ur marathon shape and can handling the distans and run ur sub3h marathon .. if u already train 100+ km weekly u maybe train in wrong way.

Rory’s understanding of his training plans means he is totally bought into his work. Sheer commitment these guys 🫡. Us amateurs have all these broscience methods & biohacking. Some of these researchers like Dr Huberman can have really new breakthroughs on health & longevity. Thanks for breaking down such complicated training & methodologies for us. Nice 26k run both of y’all.

I found out I do much better at just doing a 30k every Saturday. With just 5 to 10k of running four other days of the week.
