I have to admit, the title made me want to skip this podcast! There’s just way too much “motivational” material available on social media..a lot of it super cringe and preachy. But I’m glad I stayed to listen. Just a humble request, please do not underestimate the appeal of fun and banter for future podcasts. Sometimes a good laugh is more therapeutic than wisdom. Would love occasional takes on culture/books/music/movies etc. Also recommendations would be great.Huge props for the podcast..keep up the great work👍

For something haute’s success credit goes to Amna’s wisdom and maturity of thoughts and her liveliness. And Hasan’s enthusiasm and innocent charming face.No doubt most important thing is God’s mercy.

Why has Amna stopped working on her biography. If you're reading this Aamna please do write and publish your autobiography. I'm sure It'll inspire a lot of women and they'll learn from it too.

i think she wasn't working on her autobiography, but rather on a biography. I think she mentioned that the other person (on whose biography she was working) later lost interest in the biography, and Aamna had to drop it as well.

Failure pushes you into a different direction.

Aamna, I have had the same experience as you - my son couldn't stay in the same school, after Grade X, due to a gap in marks. We pleaded, etc. Finally he landed up in another school, and by God's Grace, his personality blossomed here and the friends he made there are forever! So yes as a parent I felt a failure, then but with hindsight, now, it was perhaps the best thing to happen to him!

I studied towards my MBA from Karachi, and then started working in different research and content development related jobs, only to find out that that was not my true calling. Then applied to study towards the PhD in New Zealand and got admission at Massey University. Fast forward eight years. I have now completed my PhD from Massey and I’m working as an evaluation advisor for the same University, based in Christchurch.
Whatever success I have got in my professional career, I owe it to my mother’s prayers, and training and relentless struggle that she had to bear to give us a good life.
I can absolutely attest to the fact that skill set development is crucial ; without skills, there is no success. I also think that we cannot underestimate the critical importance of Life skills or soft skills in this day and age, where a lot of the technical skills have reduced to being done by computers and technology, but the essential human skills, the compassion, the dedication, the perseverance, the resilience, and the work ethic that a human being can bring to a workplace or to a job cannot be overemphasised.

Lovely discussion. Keep the episodes coming, I find these even more entertaining than your drama reviews. So happy that u guys made it big and your tips are valid.
I’ll share a personal opinion as I’ve gone through the highs and lows in life, sometimes u r in the pits, u try to dig yourself out of it, u work hard, look for opportunities and do everything in your power while keeping your relationships intact… it’s a situation that really tests ur faith and ur self belief to their limits. What they say that if Allah doesn’t want you to have something at a certain time then all the efforts in the world n resilience and fortitude can not get that thing for you, so u just have to keep trying n waiting for your turn. Though I will not wish it for anyone.
The reason you guys shine more than your competitors is that you guys are mature and respectful to the person you are interviewing and do not force your ideas on them nor do you cross the line. My husband doesn’t watch current dramas but he likes to hear the two of you talk because in his words “ they are so sensible and mature that you like to hear what they are saying “

As much as I appreciate Aamna’s positivity, I think a failure is a failure and it gives us the greatest lessons in life by making us pivot from our direction. Many big companies like TH-cam failed and pivoted their direction towards success. TH-cam started off as a video dating site and then at one point they realized they should open its area to any type of video. And see where it went from that failure point to this success point.

I completed my degree from NED and I was really good at maths. But while in university I realised i don’t really enjoy what I am learning.
I moved to Australia and somehow end up working in Early childhood. I started enjoying it and decided to study in this, completed my qualification in Early childhood education and care, now I am a trainer and assessor in early childhood (teach diploma and certificate in early childhood) I absolutely love my job.

Really enjoyed the podcast. Very candid. Food for thought. Failure only feels like failure if it actually meant something to you personally, where you invested time, effort, hard work into it. Otherwise it’s just a temporary setback which you learn from and move on. It was so moving, as a mother to hear Aamna take an academic setback of her son so hard but her own academic setback of the past meant nothing. Mothers always take everything personally when it comes to kids. It’s a topic I would like to hear more about from Aamna, the academic system in Pakistan is so stressful for kids, the schools make it impossible to navigate and council kids appropriately.

I feel I am at the same stage of Amna where I realize that there is nothing like failure, its a learning process aur Allah aap ke liye rastey bana raha hota hai, humein baad mein samajh aati hai ke ye hamarey sath kiyun hua tha. Everything is meant to lead you to your destiny. Most important thing is faith on Allah, hard working, honesty and consistency, if you have all these things you are successful.

    Assalam walekum
    Hello
Sir and Ma’am..this is Nazlin from India… l was preparing for phd entrance exam from the last one year… last Saturday I got the results of my second attempt and I didn’t cleared it ..I was disheartened and felt really bad at that time…I was crying since three days but then on those days starting from last Saturday till yesterday I have checked the mistakes that I have done..I was crying but still I did that…and through this comment that’s what I am trying to convey…that it’s heartbreaking whenever things doesn’t work the way we have imagined but we should never forget ki agar hum mistakes kar rahe hai so scope of improvement zarur hoga he…because that’s what Allah wants us to be right…to learn from our mistakes and to be able to improve ourselves what we haven’t learned…I don’t know why am I sharing all these but I didn’t had any other way to express it to someone else so I thought I should be doing it here….and thank you so much for this wonderful podcast….got to witness so many different ways of looking those hardships through the eyes of you guys…love from India❤

    Lovely podcast.
Wish I realized what Amina said that there is no failures in life your path just changes.
I suppose when you are younger set backs are taken personally as a failure.
Unconditional faith helps but nowadays it is very difficult for youngsters.
