One Life to live Marty Saybrook really delivered a powerful speech 🎤 Todd was so traumatized by what he had done to me the one crime he would not come in is rape 😮
I wish there had been a good arc of episodes before the show ended that had BOTH Susan Haskell and Roger Howarth together. Their chemistry was electric, and it controversially walked the line of romantic chemistry because they were just so good together.
Ok ...sorry just one question...I thought what happened to Marty was a matter of public record? and EVERYONE in the town knew who Todd was and what he did...so why the whispers when Marty testifies that she was raped? I feel like I'm watching two different shows! I'm just going to stay in 1993..at least in Lanview!
You can SO see the difference in writing between 1993 Michael Malone (who is brilliant) and here...Marty is saying "I drank heavily , "things got out of hand"...none of that matters. Please don't get me wrong I'd watch SH read from a phone book, but this is just character assassination!! And Marty treating Rapists?? Remember Alice Henson? I hate Ron C'!!!!!!
Well until 2011 TSJ was the true Todd. When he was hired in 2003 to play Todd he was actually Todd. Right up until 2011 when Roger Howarth came back the writers changed the storyline and added the character Victor Lord Jr and the twin brothers aka Todd and Victor. Writers do not write 10 years of scripting in advance.
What is legal and what is right are too often entirely different things. At the time, Victor thought he was Todd, the man who had violently raped Marty. To believe that and still move forward with having sex with a mentally impaired woman without imparting that VERY IMPORTANT piece of information, is a terrible act of violation, if not the legal definition of rape. That legal line was hotly debated at the time of the story line.
ashli674 I agree, the only thing I can come up with is maybe it helps Marty in the healing process...But the whole thing is strange. It's Ron C...what do you expect?
That makes sense. Marty starts off all confident, calm, and professional like the rape was just a minor blip and the rest of her life was unaffected. But after only 45 seconds of thinking about it, she's a mess.
+Audra Alvarez well...first of all there are different writers ..and they don't know Marty at all..but in her defense ...I think this is her way of dealing with he rape...but Nora knows..she was there ..Nora knows the hell Marty went through.. As strong as Marty tried to be...after 5 minutes of reliving it...she broke her.
She was ready to kill him too, Yeah, her favorite son, though so she probably didn't care really. I think - their way to justify it is anything she would've done to help would risk exposing the agency. Which is all she cared about along with $ and murder.
It is if the person mentally disabled which Marty was at the time. She had amnesia. I'm not sure about Pennsylvania but in California it would definitely be illegal especially because "Todd" KNEW that Marty had amnesia and was unaware of their past.
softsable79 Yes! I think this Marty and Kevin have amazing chemistry and they have so much history to draw from. Too bad the writers screwed everything up

Nora is such a loser. She had to bring up her rape to try to get her to empathize or sympathize with Blair.

Oh, shut up, Nora, you would’ve lost that case if Todd would have let Evangeline digging into Blair all the men she slept with and the stuff she Did
Talk about a 180. I would've expected Marty to say 'We're all capable of violent acts'. But wow.
I wonder what this scene would have would have been like if it was Roger Howarth in that chair where Trevor St. John is sitting.

Uh, this wasn't Ron. This was actually Michael Malone.

Crying is one thing, but to "try not to cry" acting is insane 💯
This story line is really unbelievable.

mac020507 PREACH IT! Like seven years late, but sanity is always appreciated around this topic.
Oh, and Victor's prints were removed when he had the surgery or that's what I had heard. When he came back into town in 2003 to conceal he was Todd.
She was SO good in this story. I'm glad she won an Emmy. I didn't like this guy as Todd.
God I miss OLTL
Would of been even better if it was RH even for this story line
This is so sick
What is?
Someone testifying in defense of someone who had raped them.
ashli674 I agree, the only thing I can come up with is maybe it helps Marty in the healing process...But the whole thing is strange. It's Ron C...what do you expect?
Trevor St. John will never be the true Todd to me. Roger Howarth is the true Todd to me.
Of course he won’t be because he’s not but Travis, St. John, did a damn great job playing him 😮 and he looks way better
So was Nora just trying to get Marty to cry?
I think she was trying to show the severity of what Todd did.. And how even after all these years, it still so painful.

Audra Alvarez If MM was writing this Marty wouldn't seem so "removed" from the whole thing
@@amynyc419He was.
funny to see that the woman who plays the judge is now mrs. evans on the show

Hello, This isn't even Todd! The Guy who you fell in love with.
That guy looks me a teen - who cast him? Lol
Yes. Yes he did.
Who woulda thought Marty would turn psycho
Nope. Sorry. Legally, he didn't. It's not rape withholding info. Nor a crime.
It is if the person mentally disabled which Marty was at the time. She had amnesia. I'm not sure about Pennsylvania but in California it would definitely be illegal especially because "Todd" KNEW that Marty had amnesia and was unaware of their past.
Yes it is
I have always thought Kevin and Marty should have been a couple.

Imagin if Natalie laughs her ass off when Marty got raped
Ryan Howell Then someone should throw that POS off a roof!....oh wait....
