      They offer the same car in small scales. Willing to bet they did the pattern model in 1/8 scale. And pantographed the small models. But that 1/8 scale pattern model was too cool to not just make!

    Hi Dale and Karyn, you're both "Cool." What a fun discovery of the Citroen in big, big 1:8 Scale. Being an N Scale modeler railroader, with the big box, it almost looks "prototype." Thanks for another great, entertaining video. Special "shoutout" for Karyn's video work on the National Train Show. - Your friend Dean from Minnesota

      I’m blown away by it. My only concern is it’s all plastic. And the suspension parts are very fine. And at this size, I think it’s going to be 4 to 5 pounds. So fragile

    Another great video full of interesting info! The car was very interesting, but the ships part is what had caught my eye though. My father use to build model ships back in the 70's, I remember one that he had built in particular. It was a tall ship called the U.S S. Constitution.

    • @ToyManTelevision

    I bought that kit in Spain in 1979. I never built it as it was too complex for me even though I've been a model builder all my life. In 1983 I bought a real one and I now have three of them including one I bought from the Mullin museum. I sold that kit on Ebay for 90 bcks.

      @@ToyManTelevision thanks- I've seen a few completed models at car show flea markets but none of them were very well done. I used to open the box, look at all the bits and said, not for me. Too complex. A real one is simple in comparison.

    Hi Dale, hi Karyn . Ron here from Australia again . I've started building my Citroen , man o man this is going to be like no other model i've ever built lol .........if you have ever built a real car it will give you a better chance ,.......it's all in french to lol i don't speak french ,...i've already some apart to change the way it should have been ,......but to it's advantage they have small diagrams around the assembly details , thats what i've had to concentraite on .......i'm finding the peddles dificult , but i'll get there , but i've painted the body and put a high gloss finish on it . Good luck with yours Dale ..............talk to you soon..........

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      G’ Day! It’s one tricky model! I’m pretty sure it was made the same way Monogram made their’s. All smaller models are patterned in a large scale, usually 1:8. Then molds are made on a reduction pantograph down to usually 1:24. Heller did this in 1:16 scale and that’s a great model but just as Monogram used the 1:8 scale pattern 1:1 to make the molds for their large scale. This was the only such model by Heller. Unfortunately any errors in the 1:8 scale pattern are also reproduced full size. So there are a few places where you need to alter the fit a bit. Also as the parts were intended to be half that size they come out rather fragile in full size. But manageable. But you need to be aware and take care! Good luck and send pics!

    Heller is currently re-releasing a lot of the old kits (but no 1/8 scale yet), my unfinished ship kit bought more than 20 years ago is again available (his one is after the to do list for me).
    I also so that they re-released most of 1/43.5 cars, maybe I should buy the 3 Citroen cars, it is prefect for my O scale layout (O scale is 1/43.5 here), and at less than 10 Euros the kit, it's quite cheap.

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I think they are amazing!!! Heller is a unique company with a unique product line. At one time I had little interest in French prototypes. However now they are among my favorite autos and other subjects.

    If you are going to build this kit.......well........... you probably have NO idea what you let yourself in for............
    NOTHING fits. Every part is a struggle to get it in its correct place.
    "Not many people know Heller." I'm not surprised. Their kits (and their paints) are just horrible. I am truly amazed this brand still exists.
    I have tried to build this kit twice. The first kit I could buy at a very low price. The first owner gave up after trying to glue a few parts together. The second kit was given to me by an acquaintance. For the same reason. Both men were very happy to see this kit go.
    You will soon find out why both kits ended up in the trash can. Barely half finished............
    Good luck ......!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @ToyManTelevision

      Hum.... sounds like a challenge

    • @telescopereplicator
      @telescopereplicator 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No......... this kit is not a challenge........
      Building it is like chastising oneself..... ;-)
      But....maybe you are a very patient man. If you are prepaired to put in a lot of time and effort, the result is a huge model with lots of details.
      I hope you succeed. There is NO other model like this, in existance.

      Ron Dyson G’day Ron! Yes, it’s a problem. A “large scale” program. A DeAgadtino 67 Shelby GT 500 is on eBay right now and the seller made an offer I’m having trouble refusing. But Karyn tells me if I buy it with no place to keep it I may wake up with a horse head in bed with me. And the rest of the horse naturally, Karyn would never hurt a horse, but her point is well made. It’s over half a meter long and 7 Kg. Some mustang! And it’s the exact one we have for real. Almost the same color. But unless I wanna sleep with it.... karyn does have a plan though. Starting soon the small garage will start becoming an 1/8 scale garage. 2 full sized cars and any “modern” (post 1940) 1/8 scale cars. On shelves. Anyway where there’s a will there is a way. I think. I believe. Ps if your looking for a 1/8 Shelby Mustang for about 1200....
