Wish the Danaher guys did the 50/50 more. It's been shown to be versatile and effective at preventing the opponent from running, or by pushing out of the lock, to escape the inside heel hook. It's hard to poker face through a 50/50 heel hook throughout its full rotation, or in it's more upgraded 80/20 or 90/10 variations.
I don't understand how BJJ organizations let Palhares on every steroid known to man and don't shame him and tell him he can't compete until he cleans it up.
Because drug tests cost a lot of money and grappling is not the most well funded sport. Plus Rousimar is a high profile figure due to his notoriety and they benefit from him showing up in tournaments jacked.
It might be easy for people in the USA get into steroids and other stuff. Palhares was a farmer worker since he was a child. In Brazil even to buy the supplements you can get at a GNC store isn't for everyone.It is really expensive.Look for his first fights on youtube.He has always been in great shape.I myself know a lot of Brazilians who are as strong as him without even working out.

Ive seen Gordon Ryan have success with everyone with it but he could not get it on palhares. Palhares understood the importance of not letting Gordon's thumb squeeze and wiggle in from the side of his jaw line. Palhares also controlled Gordon's arm very well. It was a pretty amazing super technical match because gordon literally needed a tiny mistake in palhares defense and that choke would have been in. All im saying is palhares is the real deal in grappling too. He's hanging with the top elite
@@signtrendz1 no doubt he can hang with the top of them and his strength and body size probably make a big difference as well. Personally though, his fight against Tonon was phenomenal. I feel that Tonon, when compared to most other grapplers, is a much more complete/versatile grappler and that shows in his willingness to take risks and try new things. Did you ever see his match against Cyborg (at least I think it was him) some years ago?
God, BJJ competitions are so dumb where they just roll until they go out of bounds on the ground or in the standup wrestling portion one just backs up until out of bounds, then reset. Tonon is such a beast though for taking this match against piece of shit, no honor Palhares.

They don’t do drug testing in BJJ (at least not in these competitions). Many of the high level competitors use performance enhancing drugs.
